Chapter 185 God of the Undead Appears!

Tranquil Zen Master let out a deep sigh. "It seems I have overestimated the benevolence of the deities in this world."

With that, hewalked up to the stone door.

"Ice King, I brought you here, so it's on me to get you out."

He lifted his hand, and a golden spike appeared in his palm.

The spike slammed into the stone door, spinning like crazy.

Sparks flew everywhere.

Alan frowned. If the God of the Undead used this door to block him, it wasn't going to be a walk in the park.

"Hold up," Alan said calmly. "This door's special. No point in busting it up."

Tranquil Zen Master kept at it.

Alan shook his head. He knew Tranquil Zen Master felt guilty, which made him so stubborn.

Finally, Tranquil Zen Master put away the spike and sighed. "Ice King, I'm sorry."

Alan smiled and waved it off. "No biggie. I came to meet the God of the Undead anyway."

He had the quest scroll for the gods' blessing from the Blade Warrior but hadn't turned it in yet.

His Infamy Value was high, and turning it in would probably get him Gaia's blessing again.

He wanted blessings from other gods in the Jinse Empire to revive the ancient kingdom quickly.

The God of the Undead said, "Ice King, this deal isn't bad for you. Think it over and let me know."

Alan smiled. "Alright, I'll think about it."

Alan's avatar sat down, closed his eyes, and looked chill.

In reality, outside the weird stone lake, Alan was planning his next move.

The God of the Undead's power only covered the main burial chamber and seemed weak, but the ten thousand souls Tranquil Zen Master released were probably linked to him.

Alan messaged Tranquil Zen Master to confirm the souls were sacrificed to the God of the Undead.

With that sacrifice, the God of the Undead's power wasn't as weak as it seemed. It couldn't possibly be too powerful either.

He was sealed, and even with ten thousand souls, the effect was limited.

Alan: [Tranquil Zen Master, if you feel guilty, attack the God of the Undead. His power hasn't fully recovered, so we might have a shot at taking him down.]

Alan thought it was a good idea to have Tranquil Zen Master test the God's strength.

Tranquil Zen Master was strong and could force the God to show his true power.

Tranquil Zen Master hesitated: [Attacking a god is risky.]

Alan: [Worst case, you die. You might even revive in the city and not be stuck here. Makes sense, right?]

Tranquil Zen Master hesitated, his eyes showing determination, and slowly stood up.

He didn't attack but smiled wryly. "Great God of the Undead, can you let me leave?"

Alan sighed. This Tranquil Zen Master really knew how to dodge danger.

"No," the God of the Undead replied coldly. "If Ice King agrees to the deal, I'll let you go. Otherwise, you're stuck here."

"I can just off myself," Tranquil Zen Master said without a second thought.

Alan knew he was testing if dying would let him escape.

"Suicide? If you think that'll work, be my guest," the God of the Undead's voice dripped with disdain. "I suggest you behave and not cause trouble."

Tranquil Zen Master glanced at Alan and messaged: [Ice King, you see, my efforts are useless. We still can't leave.]

Alan replied firmly: [I'm still here.]

Tranquil Zen Master: [Yeah, you're here, but I don't want to be the fall guy. Can you take the lead while I back you up?]

Alan was at a loss for words. Tranquil Zen Master was really playing it safe, not giving any chance.

Alan: [No, you attacking is the best choice. If I attack, the outcome is unpredictable.]

His avatar couldn't attack because it would dissipate immediately if it did.

To test the God of the Undead's strength, only Tranquil Zen Master could attack.

Tranquil Zen Master looked conflicted. He knew Alan was goading him, but after a brief hesitation, he responded: [Alright, Ice King, I know you want me to be the bait, but I have no other choice.]

With that, Tranquil Zen Master launched the golden spike at the octahedral cube.

"Tranquil Zen Master, what are you doing?" the God of the Undead's angry voice echoed.

"Sending you to your death, God of the Undead," Tranquil Zen Master replied.

The God of the Undead roared furiously. "I gave you so many rewards, and this is how you repay me?"

"Sorry, but I must leave here," Tranquil Zen Master said.

The God of the Undead sneered. "Are you stupid? This octahedral cube is my seal. Attacking it will release me!"

"Stop fooling yourself. This octahedral cube is your true form. You disguised it as a seal to make people think it was your prison, right?" Tranquil Zen Master said.

The God of the Undead was shocked. "How did you know?"

Tranquil Zen Master didn't explain. He raised his hand, and a golden staff appeared.

The golden staff struck the octahedral cube, causing it to crack.

"I never thought my disguise would be seen through," the God of the Undead's voice grew aged,no longer weak. "If you seek death, I will grant it."

With that, the octahedral cube folded and transformed into eight figures.

These figures were shrouded in gray-white light, making them hard to see.

The eight figures merged, forming a monster with multiple arms, long legs, and eyeballs all over its body.

Tranquil Zen Master said, "Ice King, you were right. Gods are just stronger monsters. Once you overcome your fear, there's nothing to be afraid of."

"How is this possible?" The God of the Undead was surprised. "An elevated state of mind, losing reverence for gods."
