Alan gave Dashiell a steady look. "Think you can take me? Go ahead, give it a shot."

Alan smirked. "If you could handle it, I wouldn't be here."
"You!" Dashiell fumed. As one of the top three in Chaos Land, few dared to disrespect him. But Alan was unpredictable, especially with Percival's recent arrival and his family's destruction, making Dashiell cautious.
"So, what do you want?" Dashiell finally asked. With Sea God Island reopening soon, he didn't want any trouble.
"First, the Sea God Island key. Second, the Gods' Blessing pre-quest scroll," Alan replied.
Alan was sure Dashiell had the scroll. In Chaos Land, a place for those at the second job change limit, a platinum-level four-time job changer like Dashiell would have it. On the Vast Continent, even five or six-time job changers might not have it, as such treasures were controlled by the top people.
Alan had been after the Gods' Blessing since the novice village and Stellaria. Once on the Vast Continent, getting it from a nine-time job changer would be nearly impossible.
"You're too greedy," Dashiell said. "I can give you the Sea God Island key, but forget about the Gods' Blessing pre-quest scroll."
Alan wasn't surprised that Dashiell would never hand over the scroll willingly. If he had to fight for it, it would be game over if Dashiell chose death over surrender.
"I'm not pushing too hard. I need the Sea God Island key and an equipment evolution scroll, and I'll let it go," Alan said. Killing Peregrine would make getting the scroll even harder. It was better to compromise.
Dashiell hesitated, then nodded. "Fine, but I want to know who you are."
Alan smiled. "I'm an adventurer, Ice King."
Dashiell gasped. "The Ice King who helped destroy Stellaria!"
As one of the top three in Chaos Land, he knew what happened in Stellaria.
"That's right," Alan nodded.
Dashiell looked at Alan thoughtfully. "In that case, I might give you the Gods' Blessing pre-quest scroll."
"That would be great," Alan said.
Dashiell pulled out the Gods' Blessing pre-quest scroll and the equipment evolution scroll. He then glared at Peregrine. "Idiot, hand over the Sea God Island key."
Trembling, Peregrine handed the key to Dashiell, who then gave all three items to Alan.

"Why stick around here? Your chances of advancing are slim. Why not head to the Vast Continent?" Alan asked.
Alan didn't want to accept the quest. Dashiell was just one of the three major powers. The other two likely had the Gods' Blessing pre-quest scroll too. Accepting Dashiell's quest meant opposing the other two, and Alan wanted to maximize his benefits.
"We worship the ocean. The Sea God is in the Chaos Land. Leaving would be our greatest loss," Dashiell explained.
"Got it," Alan said. "I'll take your quest."
Alan initially worried about opposing the other two, but Dashiell's words reminded him. These people worshipped the Sea God. What if the Sea God ascended the Soul Gathering List? What then?

"Ice King, I've given you the items. What about Peregrine?" Dashiell asked.
