Chapter 149 Preparation: Counterattack Lindataria!

Andrew nodded, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Your Majesty, I think that person is the Ice King!"

"What?" King Rex responded as he shot up from his seat.

He knew the name well, given the recent chaos caused by the Ice King.

King Rex replied, "It must be him. He was wearing a black cloak to hide his identity, but his fighting style and damage numbers match the Ice King's."

King Rex narrowed his eyes. He continued, "This Ice King is guilty of aiding the Cave of Demons in attacking Lindataria."

He added, "General, I order you to hold off the Ice King. No matter what, don't let him join the upcoming battle."

General Zachary raised an eyebrow. This was a tough task.

The Ice King was at the peak of his power. Even Andrew had lost to him this time, and Zachary needed to be more confident too.

"Is there a problem?" King Rex asked calmly.

Zachary shook his head. He replied, "By Your Majesty's command, I will hold off the Ice King even if it costs me my life."

"Good." King Rex nodded with a smile, his gaze shifting to Andrew.

"Andrew, you are to devise a plan to retake Lindataria. Are you confident?" King Rex asked.

Andrew nodded. He assured, "If the Ice King doesn't interfere, I'm confident we can reclaim Lindataria."

"In that case, I'll appoint you Grand General of the Nation and give you an army of one hundred thousand. You must take Lindataria," King Rex said.

"I will not disappoint Your Majesty!" Andrew replied.

Zachary frowned upon hearing that Andrew was appointed as the Grand General of the Nation.

But he didn't speak up. Instead, Chancellor Lorenr stepped forward and said, "Your Majesty, Andrew has just returned after a setback. It's one thing not to punish him, but is it appropriate to name him the Grand General of the country?"

King Rex's eyes narrowed with displeasure. He said, "Are you questioning my decision, Chancellor?"

"I wouldn't dare." Lorenr quickly bowed. He continued, "I just think it would be more reasonable to appoint him after he has reclaimed Lindataria."

King Rex looked at Lorenr with a half-smile. He knew time was of the essence.

Lorenr and Zachary were both ambitious, and the military needed someone to replace Zachary.

But replacing Zachary wasn't something that could be done with just a word. It required a reputation.

Andrew's current reputation needed to be improved to replace Zachary.

So, he wanted to appoint Andrew now, and after Andrew reclaimed Lindataria, appoint him again, then attack the demon lair and appoint him once more.

With three consecutive appointments for meritorious service, Andrew would have a chance to replace Zachary.

King Rex's plans were clear to both Zachary and Lorenr, but Zachary couldn't say it out loud.

If he did, it would seem like he was jealous of talented people!

After all, they were all military men!

King Rex stared at Lorenr for a moment, then smiled. He said, "Alright, in that case, we will wait until General Andrew reclaims Lindataria before appointing him."

Although King Rex was quite displeased, Lorenr had spoken up reasonably.

If he insisted on appointing Andrew, it would backfire.

Meanwhile, Alan had returned to Blackwater Lake Turtle to grind for health points whenever he had time. He knew he couldn't rush other matters. Being anxious wouldn't help.

After clearing Blackwater Lake Turtle more than ten times, someone unexpected showed up.

It was Zachary!

Alan might have misidentified him before, but now he was level fifty and could see Zachary's name clearly.

"What does the General want with a small fry like me?" Alan asked.

Zachary shook his head with a smile. He replied, "Ice King, you're no small fry. You hold significant weight in Stellaria."

Alan smiled noncommittally. He responded, "Lindataria has been breached. As the General, wouldn't you be here to ask me to help retake it?"

Zachary smiled. He rebutted, "Come on, Ice King, you know what I'm thinking."

"Wouldn't King Rex personally lead the attack on Lindataria?" Alan asked.

As long as King Rex didn't personally lead the attack, it would be very difficult for him to kill King Rex.

"Of course not. King Rex suspects you are that black-cloaked archer, so he's guarding against you," Zachary replied.

Alan raised an eyebrow in curiosity. He remarked, "He's not wrong. What about you? What are you planning to do?"

"Guard you. Lindataria has already fallen. I can't let you continue causing trouble," Zachary replied.

Alan smiled helplessly. He asked, "Whether you can stop me is one thing. But what about King Rex? Kill or not kill?"

Zachary replied, "Of course, he must be killed, but killing him is for Stellaria, while the nightwalkers from the demon lair want to destroy Stellaria."

Clearly, Zachary wanted to stop Alan.

"General, you're confused," Alan said. "If King Rex stays in Starcity, who among you can kill him?"

Zachary replied, "That doesn't mean we can let you break into scarcity."

Alan smiled bitterly. He explained, "I don't want to destroy Stellaria. I want King Rex to lead the attack personally, then kill him."

"That's difficult, almost impossible. King Rex has life-saving means. Among other things, I know he has an ancestral space teleportation talisman from Stellaria," Zachary replied.

"What?" Alan was stunned. He asked, "How does he have a space teleportation talisman?"

Even though he was the king of Stellaria, Alan was still surprised because a space teleportation talisman could only be made after four job changes.

Both the main profession and the secondary profession required four job changes, and it had to be a space-related profession. These conditions were very stringent, even in the mid-game.

In Ragnarok, the first job change was at level ten, the second at level fifty, the third at level one hundred, and the fourth at level two hundred.

A talisman maker of at least level two hundred was required, but according to Alan, in Stellaria, even the strongest was at the second job change limit of level one hundred.

There were only a few who had surpassed level one hundred and reached the third job change.

As for the fourth job change, it was unheard of, except for deities.

Alan said, "Even with a space teleportation talisman, I still have a chance to kill King Rex."

Hearing this, Zachary was very surprised. He needed to find out where Alan's confidence came from.

Zachary insisted, "But it is a critical moment. I must guard you. Otherwise, there's no way to explain."

Alan smiled mysteriously. He asked teasingly, "Just guarding me, no need to fight?"

Zachary replied, "Just guarding, mainly to prevent you from going to Lindataria."

"Then that's simple." Alan grinned. He invited, "Come with me. I'll take you to meet someone."

"Who?" Zachary asked.

"You'll know when we get there," Alan replied.
