Chapter 227 Followers of the Evil God?
Alan scratched his nose, looking a bit amused. "Yeah, it's definitely not as good as what's in my book."
He wasn't bluffing.
The Seawise Elder's grasp of the Sea's True Essence was just at the beginner level.
But the secret tome of the Sea's True Essence that Alan had held the core secrets of the entire Sea's True Essence.
Alan's words really ticked off the followers.
"Who does this guy think he is? Acting like he can learn more from a book."
"Right? Saying the Seawise Elder's teachings aren't as good as some book is just disrespectful."
"Someone like him should be tossed into the sea for the beasts to deal with."
The Seawise Elder's followers kept hurling insults at Alan.
Alan didn't flinch, just stared calmly at the Seawise Elder.
"So, what book do you have that makes you think it's better than what I teach?" Seawise Elder asked, curious.
Alan flipped open the first page of the secret tome of the Sea's True Essence and showed it to the Seawise Elder.
Since the Seawise Elder had already grasped the basics of the Sea's True Essence, he had no trouble understanding the first page.
With just one look, the Seawise Elder's eyes widened.
"The secret tome of the Sea's True Essence!"
Even from just the first page, he knew what Alan was holding.
He got a bit excited, thinking, 'If I can get my hands on this tome, my status in the Sea God Temple will skyrocket.'
The Seawise Elder eyed Alan carefully.
After confirming that Alan was a nobody in the Sea God Temple or even the entire chaotic land, he couldn't hide his greed anymore.
"Seize him! The book he's holding is the Silver Eye Chronicles, and I need to destroy it myself!"
With that, the Seawise Elder pinned a crime on Alan.
Hearing this, the followers' faces twisted with rage.
"Damn it, I knew this guy was trouble. Didn't expect him to be a follower of the evil god."
"Kill him! We can't let him spread the Silver Eye Chronicles."
"Cut him to pieces! Everyone, attack!"
They lunged at Alan, while the Elder stood back with a smug grin, thinking Alan was just some lucky nobody.
He figured once he got the secret tome and mastered the complete essence, no one would care what he'd done.
Alan looked at the followers coldly but didn't bother to move; he didn't need to.
They were too weak. With his heavy bloodthirsty dragon armor and over eleven million health points, their attacks were pointless.
Sure enough, within seconds, the followers realized their attacks were just hurting themselves, while Alan's health bar barely moved.
"He's definitely a follower of the evil god, protected by its power. Notify the Sea Guard immediately; we need to execute him on the spot."
The Seawise Elder was both shocked and angry but not panicked.
His followers were weak; it was no surprise they couldn't beat Alan.
Once the Sea Guard showed up, as soon as the Sea Guard arrived, Alan would be like a fish on the chopping block, destined for death.
"Bold follower of the evil god, how dare you cause trouble here," Jasper barked, leading the Sea Guard's experts to surround Alan.
There were two groups of second-tier black iron-level warriors, along with two archers and two mages. Not a bad lineup, but no priest in sight.
Seawise Elder glared at Alan. "Hand over the Silver Eye Chronicles, and maybe I'll show you some mercy."
Alan just smirked as the divine whip appeared in his hand with a shadowy Instant Kill.
In a flash, Alan was behind Jasper, striking with the whip.
A loud crack echoed as Jasper's helmet shattered, and a massive critical damage number, 1,409,580, popped up above his head.
One hit, over 1.4 million damage.
Everyone was stunned.
Jasper, a second-tier black iron-level NPC with just over 1.5 million health, was nearly taken out by Alan's strike.
"This..."
Seawise Elder was both terrified and shocked, taking a step back without thinking.
He was a third-tier bronze-level, but he hadn't fought seriously in ages.
Alan's strike scared him senseless.
"Seawise Elder, this follower of the evil god is too strong. Only you can take him down," his followers cried out, looking to him for salvation.
They thought Seawise Elder was invincible.
But when they looked at him, they saw his pants were wet. Yellow liquid dripped from his pants, and a foul smell filled the air.
"Seawise Elder, what's wrong with you?"
Some followers guessed what had happened, but most couldn't believe it.
Seawise Elder had wet himself out of fear.
This was impossible!
Seawise Elder was supposed to be powerful and invincible. He wouldn't wet himself out of fear!
But seeing him trembling and retreating with a terrified expression, they had to admit, even if they didn't want to, that their almighty Seawise Elder had indeed wet himself out of fear.
"What do you want? I'm telling you, I'm an elder of the Sea God Temple. You can't kill me," Seawise Elder stammered in panic. "If you kill me, the Sea God Temple won't let you go."
Alan, holding the divine whip, walked slowly towards Seawise Elder.
Seawise Elder screamed in terror, "Protect me! What are you all standing there for? Stop him!"
The Sea Guard members looked at each other, remembering Alan's damage.
With that kind of damage, their captain was almost killed in one hit. What chance did they have?
"Don't come any closer. I know I was wrong; please spare me," Seawise Elder begged, finally breaking down and kneeling before Alan.
"Seawise Elder knelt to this follower of the evil god?"
"How can he do this? Didn't he say to never surrender to followers of the evil god? He can't kneel!"
Seawise Elder's followers were utterly disappointed.
Alan didn't stop. He walked unhurriedly to Seawise Elder.
Alan said, "You, an elder of the Sea God Temple, kneel to me, a follower of the evil god? And in front of all your followers? You might as well be dead!"
