Chapter 172 Stellaria Has a God of the Undead!
"Alright," Andrew said, and the group started to back away.
Matthew tried to stop him, but Alan wasn't about to let them go that easily.
Alan moved and attacked faster than Matthew, making it impossible for him to hold Alan back.
Still, Alan knew he couldn't catch everyone.
So, he zeroed in on Kyle. Besides Princess Ashley and the Golden Priest, Kyle was his main target.
Andrew and the others noticed Alan's focus, and Andrew's face turned grim.
"Go!" Matthew shouted. "If you don't leave now, none of us will make it out."
With that, Matthew charged at Alan like a madman, his eyes blazing with fury.
Andrew glared at Alan with pure hatred.
Andrew vowed, "Ice King, by the Snow Goddess above, I, Andrew, swear to kill you. If I break this oath, may the gods punish me!"
Andrew's eyes were already bloodshot as he made this vow.
He was beyond furious.
Alan just shrugged him off. He mocked, "Say that again when you can actually beat me."
Andrew left with the others. He wanted to save the Golden Priest, but the priest was already too far gone.
[You have killed the High Priest. A server-wide announcement is about to be made. Do you wish to hide your nickname?]
"No," Alan replied.
[Server-wide announcement: Congratulations to player Ice King for successfully killing the High Priest. Keep up the good work, players.]
The fall of a Golden Priest was a huge blow to Stellaria.
Next, Alan wrote Kyle's name in the Book of Life and Death.
Kyle's health started to drop rapidly.
He knew he was done for.
Kyle cried desperately, "Is there no way out? Brother, I might not be able to avenge you. Ice King is too strong."
Kyle's eyes turned wild and desperate.
He raised his staff and began to chant, "Great God of the Undead, humble Kyle offers his soul and life, begging for your blessing to destroy this villain!"
Alan's face showed disbelief.
'Betraying faith and selling your soul,' he thought.
For a mage, both were unthinkable.
But here they were, happening right in front of him.
Before he could react, a pillar of ashen light descended from the sky, enveloping Kyle.
Kyle's flesh burned away, leaving a skeleton engulfed in flames.
In his hand was a skeletal staff, and a chilling, terrifying aura surrounded him.
"Undead Summoning, return, those souls slain by Ice King!" Kyle waved his staff, and the ground around Alan cracked open, revealing skeletons.
King Rex (Undead), Derek (Undead), Queen Susan (Undead)
These were all people Alan had killed before.
Alan was stunned.
Undead Summoning.
He knew this skill well.
In Undead Summoning, there was a skill called Soul Dispatch. It let you capture the souls of the dead and use them.
But Soul Dispatch was a high-level ability within Undead Summoning.
Only a few master-level talents could get it early on. Most would only unlock it much later.
Plus, Soul Dispatch had many limitations. Not every soul could be captured. It depended on the strength of the caster.
And even if you did capture a soul, it would only have a fraction of its original strength.
In this regard, the Soul Gathering List was much stronger than Soul Dispatch.
The Soul Gathering List didn't care about the opponent's strength. Even if a god fell, Alan could forcibly add them to the list.
And once on the Soul Gathering List, their strength remained at peak condition.
In this respect, Soul Dispatch was far inferior to the Soul Gathering List.
Back to the point, Kyle had only sacrificed himself today. He couldn't have had the chance to use Soul Dispatch before.
In other words, King Rex, Derek, and the others weren't summoned through his Soul Dispatch but by the God of the Undead!
This was terrifying.
In theory, a place wouldn't have two gods ruling it.
King Rex, Derek, and the others had all died in Stellaria.
Logically, the God of the Undead shouldn't be able to capture their souls.
'Unless the God of the Undead was in Stellaria!' Alan thought.
This was a bold and terrifying hypothesis, and only this could explain why Kyle could summon them to fight now.
While thinking about this, Alan was already clashing with King Rex's summoned beast.
Queen Susan also turned into a shadow, charging at Alan.
Princess Ashley likewise turned into a stream of light, rushing to attack.
Alan wielded the God-Beating Whip and directly used his three heads and six arms.
With the enhancement of three heads and six arms, Alan alone withstood the pressure.
Seeing this, Matthew sighed. He remarked, "Kyle, your sacrifice was worth it. At least, it helped us confirm something."
As he said this, Matthew gave King Rex a meaningful look.
Clearly, Matthew also knew what the appearance of King Rex's undead here meant.
He left, leaving behind the crazed Kyle and the undead continuously attacking Alan.
Under the relentless attacks of the Book of Life and Death, the mage with relatively low health couldn't hold out much longer and fell to the continuous damage.
Previously, the Book of Life and Death didn't cause much damage, but now with over 90,000 damage per second, even a strong third-job class like Kyle couldn't withstand it.
[You have killed Kyle. A server-wide announcement is about to be made. Do you wish to hide your nickname?]
"No," Alan replied.
