Chapter 294 The Four Major Factions' Leaders!
Bobby was just one of the many maniacs. A ton of players were swarming into the wilderness, and the torch sellers were raking in the cash.
Icefire Los Island.
Alan's bounty mission just dropped, and Ayla was the first to spot it.
Not just her—every major sanctuary got wind of it too.
"The big shot of a sanctuary, putting out a mission like this? It's a total embarrassment to the rest of us!"
"Seriously, isn't anyone gonna rein this in? Feels like straight-up cheating!"
"Eh, he's an adventurer at heart. Makes sense he'd wanna help others. But who knows if this'll blow up in his face!"
Alan didn't care about any of this. After releasing the bounty mission, he went straight back to the Hall of Glory.
If he was serious about taking over the Vast Continent, there was still a ton of groundwork to lay.
For starters, he needed to hash things out with the four factions and the three big families of the Mountain and Sea Empire.
Once he got back to the Hall of Glory, Alan told Leif to round up reps from the four factions and three families for a meeting first thing in the morning.
And if they didn't show? Well, he'd just pay them a visit himself.
Leif was slightly surprised to hear Alan's order.
"Master, our Hall of Glory's foundation is not very deep right now."
"Just do as I say," Alan said firmly.
"Yes, Master."
Although Leif felt it was a bit rushed, he still nodded in agreement.
Normally, they'd handle the Cult of the Divine Sheep, the Three Saints Society, and the Hand of Malevolence before even thinking about going after the four factions.
But Alan wasn't about to follow the playbook.
He was convinced these three cults had been running wild in the Mountain and Sea Empire because they had some high-profile backers pulling the strings.
There could be moles in the government, and who knows, maybe even the four factions were in on it.
This time, Alan wanted to see where the four factions stood.
The whole Chaos Territory mess was still fresh in his mind—he'd been played like a fiddle from the start.
As the undisputed ruler of the Mountain and Sea Empire, Alan wasn't about to let that happen again.
Back in the Chaos Territory, he was out of his element and powerless, so he took the hits But here? If he got played again, he might as well hang up his crown!
Once Leif was out the door, Alan pulled out the True Meaning of Fire he'd snagged after taking down Loff White and started digging into its secrets.
The next morning.
Alan opened his eyes. The True Meaning of Fire had already reached the advanced stage, just one step away from the ultimate stage.
"Master, the people from the four factions have all arrived." Leif's voice came from outside the door.
Alan walked out of the room and casually asked, "What about the three major families?"
"None of them came."
Alan's eyes narrowed slightly, "Figures. Descendants of gods—arrogance comes with the territory."
"They're protected by their ancestors, armed with divine relics. Even the previous master could only barely keep them in check. Calling them to heel is hard indeed."
Alan smirked, cold and unbothered. "I don't give a damn how it was with the previous master. Now, I'm the Master of the Hall of Glory. My rules. My way."
Leif was shocked. These words were too domineering.
But as the master of a sanctuary, shouldn't he be this domineering?
Alan came to the main hall and directly sat in the main seat.
The leaders of the four factions did not stand up or show any intention of saluting when they saw Alan arrive.
Alan took his seat, and the Golden Gate leader leaned back, legs crossed. "Kid, you didn't drag us here just 'cause you're sweating over the heat from the western sanctuaries, did you?"
Alan shot him a cool look. "Help? They're already gone."
"They left 'cause you whipped out the Ice Goddess's artifact. But let's be real—you're no god. Scare 'em off once? Fine. Twice? Doubt it."
Alan smirked, turning to the others. "What about you three? Same vibe as him?"
The Heavenly Sword Sect leader stood up, calm and collected. "Our sect has roots in the Mountain and Sea Empire. If the Master needs anything, we're willing to step in—but it'll cost you. A lot."
The Mist Rain Tower leader chimed in, "Master, the Mist Rain Tower stays neutral. We don't pick sides, not now, not ever."
Then came the Sunset Peak, a faction led mostly by women. Their leader gave a wry smile. "Master, with the Hall of Glory in its current state, we can't afford to take a stand."
Alan's gaze sharpened as he swept the room. "Looks like none of you have a clue what's really going on here."
When his eyes landed on the leader of the Golden Gate, the Sea God's domain erupted without warning. The sheer divine energy slammed down on the man like a tidal wave.
The chair beneath the Golden Gate leader shattered into splinters, and under the crushing weight, he dropped to his knees, completely immobilized.
"Holy hell, that's insane!" The Golden Gate leader's eyes bulged, his voice trembling with shock.
He was a Starlight Tier powerhouse who had changed jobs nine times, yet he was forced to kneel on the ground, unable to move, by Alan's divine power.
The leader of the Mist Rain Tower's eyes flashed with a strange light. He was the only grandmaster among the few who had changed jobs nine times, and his vision was sharper than the other three.
'This divine power—it's got a god's soul tied to it...' At this thought, the Mist Rain Tower leader bowed low. "The Mist Rain Tower will follow your lead, Master."
The Sunset Peak and Heavenly Sword Sect leaders exchanged a look, their faces stunned.
Just some divine power, and the Golden Gate leader was pinned—how the hell could they mess with someone this strong?
"Sunset Peak's in, Master," the leader said, her voice tight.
"Heavenly Sword Sect's with you," the other added, nodding quickly.
Alan smirked. They were just playing the hand they were dealt.
Fine by him.
All he needed was their yes. The rest? Easy.
"And you?" Alan's gaze dropped to the Golden Gate leader, still on his knees, drenched in sweat.
Whether it was a god's power or some artifact's, it had him locked down. Killing him would've been a snap.
"The Golden Gate... will follow master's lead," he choked out.
"You were the mouthiest earlier. So here's the deal—Golden Gate's pulling border duty for three months. Got a problem with that?"
The Golden Gate leader clenched his jaw. The Mountain and Sea Empire was barely back on its feet, and three months at the border would slam the brakes on their progress.
"You three," Alan continued, turning to the others, "since you're all in, take your people and surround the three big families."
"What?" The Sunset Peak leader's eyes widened. Those families were no pushovers—they were just as strong.
"You just said you'd follow my orders. Got an issue with the first one?" Alan shot back, his voice cutting.
The Sunset Peak leader hesitated, but the Mist Rain Tower leader stepped forward, bowing low. "I'll rally my people ASAP."
