Chapter 204 Are You Sure You Want to Rob Me?
[The Heart of God's Retribution (Super God Level): 1 Star]
[Effect 1: Every time your skills hit something alive, you get a permanent health boost of one point.]
[Effect 2: Every time your gear's extra effects (like skills, summons, burns, splashes, etc.) hit something alive, you get a permanent health boost of one point.]
[Proficiency: 0/1000.]
Alan was blown away. Before, only basic attacks could stack health points, but now skills could too.
He used to think Lightning Leap and Fire Meteor were messing up his health stacking. Now, they seemed perfect for it.
Wait a minute!
If Lightning Leap and Fire Meteor were great, what about the Codex of Life and Death?
Alan's Codex of Life and Death was targeting Vampire Marquis Oberon.
He saw his health points start to rise.

In less than seventeen minutes, Alan got a system notification.
[Your talent The Heart of God's Retribution has been upgraded to two stars.]
Now, each hit stacked two health points.
[+2.]

[+2.]
[-9801.]
Alan was stunned. His health was going up nicely, so why was he losing health?
He wasn't getting hit or anything, so what was going on?
[-9801.]
[-9801.]
The health loss kept happening.
"The Codex of Life and Death, damage reflection," Alan realized.
The number 9801 seemed familiar. It was one-tenth of the health loss per second from his Codex of Life and Death. The ratio was perfect, so it had to be the reflection attribute.
Alan thought, 'Oberon is trying to use reflection against me.'
But this level of reflection was no big deal for Alan.
His Bloodthirsty Dragon Armor, at six stars, absorbed thirty percent of the damage, reducing it by thirty percent.
Plus, Alan's base health regeneration per second was over eight hundred.
Revival regenerated five thousand health points per second for him.
The Tears of the Goddess of Life could regenerate ten thousand health points for him.
Without even equipping the Ninefold Longbow, Alan's health regeneration per second was close to sixteen thousand.
With the thirty percent damage reduction, this reflection damage was nothing.
Besides, Alan also had heavy armor reflection.
Though it only reflected three percent, it could still reflect over two hundred damage.
The damage wasn't high but quite annoying.
Alan shrugged it off and continued towards the Land of Chaos.
Inside a cave in the Black Wind Mountains, there was a hidden resurrection altar, part of the hidden map of the Oceanus Kingdom.
Oberon, Andrew, and others were all there.
Watching the damage numbers pop up above his head, Oberon looked pissed. "Ice King, you've really ticked me off."
Andrew frowned. "What's the plan now?"
Oberon replied, "Leona took the Snow Goddess's corpse. If I get a drop of her blood, I can recover fast. Then, taking down the Ice King will be a piece of cake."
Andrew's face grew serious. "The Snow Goddess is sacred to us. We can't mess with her body."
Oberon sneered. "If Leona can touch the Snow Goddess's body, so can you!"
Matthew stepped in to calm things down. "Lord Oberon, please. It's not that we don't want to. Even if we try, we probably can't get the divine blood."
Oberon snapped, "I knew you guys were useless. I have a special bottle. Just open the coffin with the Snow Goddess's left leg, and this bottle can extract a drop of divine blood."
Andrew wanted to argue, but Matthew stopped him. "Alright, I'll go."
Matthew turned to Andrew. "Desperate times call for desperate measures. I hope you understand."
Andrew sighed. "Fine, I'll help. The Snow Goddess's left leg is outside Lindataria, guarded by a powerful demon."
"That's more like it," Eira smiled. "Don't worry. I'll step in. Even if the Black Robe Leader shows up, I can handle him."
Three days later, outside the Land of Chaos, Alan finally arrived.
Traveling was a pain. He really needed a dragon mount to cut down on travel time.
Over a day ago, Alan's Heart of God's Retribution hit three stars, and now his health had skyrocketed to a whopping nine million six hundred and fifty thousand.
The Heart of God's Retribution, combined with the Codex of Life and Death, made stacking health points a breeze.
'Hope I find something good here,' Alan thought, looking at the Land of Chaos ahead.
He stepped into the Land of Chaos, where jagged rocks and dried bloodstains covered the ground.
It looked like battles happened here a lot.
Alan had never been to the Land of Chaos before, so he didn't know much about it.
He only knew it was a mixed bag, with people from all walks of life and many strong individuals hiding out.
As he moved forward, about six strong warriors emerged from behind the rocks.
Two archers and a mage used the stones as cover, glaring at Alan.
Then, from behind the boulders on his left and right, five more people appeared, eyeing Alan fiercely.
The tall warrior in front, holding a spiked club, smashed it on the ground and snarled, "Leave your money, and we'll let you live!"
Robbery was pretty common in the later stages of the game.
These bandits in the Land of Chaos, the highest level was only fifty, yet they had the nerve to rob him.
[Bandit Leader of the Rocky Valley (Black Iron): Level 50.]
[Health: 699840/735801.]
[Attack: 3298.]
[Skills: Spiked Whirlwind, Savage Smash, Bloodthirsty Spike, Burning Blood Rage, Rage.]
With these stats, Alan was speechless.
How could someone with such lousy attributes dare to rob him?
Alan asked, "Are you sure you want to rob me?"
