Chapter 486 Seeing Elodie

She couldn't have just left like that, she loved Alexander so much.

Leaving him, she wouldn't be able to survive.

But now the truth was out, she couldn't stay here any longer.

She had to make other plans.

Daisy packed her things and came downstairs, the Cross Family members were looking at Elodie's photos on Alexander's phone.

Gilbert wiped his tears and said, "She looks so much like Daisy when she was little. How could we have been so foolish to mistake someone else for her?"

Tessa, also in tears, said, "My poor child, she's been through so much and yet she's so strong. Thinking about her abusive foster father breaks my heart."

Philip comforted her by putting his arm around her shoulder, "We'll go see her later, but let's not reveal ourselves to her just yet. Just seeing her will be enough."

Daisy saw this scene and bit her lip hard.

All of this was supposed to be hers. If Elodie were dead, no one would have discovered the truth.

It was all because of Sophia. If she hadn't been suspicious, if she hadn't done the paternity test, Daisy wouldn't be in this situation.

Thinking of this, Daisy clenched her fists tightly.

But she quickly adjusted her emotions, pulled her luggage, and walked up to the Cross Family members, bowing deeply to them.

"Grandpa, Mom, Dad, thank you for raising me all these years. I'm leaving now, please take care of yourselves."

After saying this, Daisy lifted her head, tears already streaming down her cheeks.

Tessa couldn't harden her heart in the end.

After all, she had raised Daisy for so many years.

Tessa got up, walked over to Daisy, and handed her a bank card, her eyes red, "Daisy, take this. You'll need money for many things in the future."

Daisy immediately declined, "Mom, I don't want it. You should save it for Elodie. I've already enjoyed a lot of the Cross Family's love, I can't take anything more from you."

"I'm leaving now, take care of yourselves."

After saying this, Daisy bowed to everyone and left with her luggage.

Watching her thin figure, Gilbert said painfully, "Alexander, did you wrong Daisy? Maybe she really didn't know about those things."

Alexander sneered, "I wish I had wronged Daisy, but it seems that's not possible."

"But Daisy has a heart condition. If she has an attack and isn't treated in time, she could die."

"Don't worry, Daisy's condition isn't that serious. She used to take medicine she shouldn't have to get close to me."

Tessa looked at him in surprise, "You mean Daisy likes you?"

Alexander smirked, "Sophia discovered it. If it weren't for her, we might still be deceived by Daisy."

Gilbert nodded in relief, "I knew Sophia wasn't that cold-hearted. She still has feelings for you. You should treat her well in the future."

"Don't worry, without Daisy causing trouble, we'll reconcile soon."

The Cross Family members couldn't hold back any longer. They didn't even wait for dinner and went to the hospital to see Elodie.

Elodie was lying in bed, her bright eyes blinking as she stared at the ceiling.

A hint of joy was on her small face.

Alexander pushed the door open and walked to her side.

He bent down, pinched her little nose, and asked with a smile, "What are you thinking about, so lost in thought that you didn't even notice me coming in?"

Elodie immediately smiled, "A painting I did in high school won an award, an international prize, with a $50,000 reward. Mr. Cross, when I get the money, I'll treat you to the most expensive steak."

Hearing this, Alexander felt both a pang of sadness and a sense of satisfaction.

He smiled and said, "Our Elodie is amazing. You'll definitely become a beautiful artist in the future."

Hearing him say "our Elodie," Elodie was so excited that her eyes curved into crescents.

"Mr. Cross, if that day really comes, the first people I want to thank are you and Sophia. Without you, I would have died long ago."

"Don't talk nonsense. You'll always be happy from now on, trust me."

"I trust you. Didn't you already take your sister away? Why are you here again?"

Alexander's eyes darkened for a moment, then he said, "Your mom is an employee of our family. Since you're sick, my family came to see you. They're outside. Do you want to see them?"

Elodie looked at Alexander in disbelief.

Her mom was just a servant at the Cross Villa and had only worked there for a few days.

Yet, they were so kind to come and see her in person.

Elodie was a bit excited, "I want to see them."

"Okay, I'll let them in now."

Alexander walked to the door, opened it, and said, "Come in, but don't get too emotional. Elodie can't handle any stress right now."

Tessa wiped her tears and said, "Okay, I won't get emotional."

Several people walked into the ward one after another. When they saw the small, frail Elodie lying in bed, Tessa, who had promised to stay calm, couldn't hold back.

Tears streamed down her cheeks.

Tessa quickly walked over, grabbed Elodie's hand, and said tearfully, "Elodie, how are you feeling?"

Elodie saw her emotional state and felt a bit puzzled, but she still smiled politely.

"Thank you, Mrs. Cross. I'm fine, thanks to Mr. Cross's help."

Seeing such a sensible Elodie, Tessa couldn't help but stroke her cheek and said hoarsely, "I've heard about your situation. Take good care of yourself. Once you recover, everything will get better."

Elodie nodded with a smile, "Okay. I heard from Sophia that my foster father has been arrested. He won't bother me and my mom anymore. Once I recover, I'll work and study to repay those who have helped me.

Like Mr. Cross, Sophia, and you all. I'm very happy that you came to see me. It shows you respect my mom and don't look down on her. I'm really grateful."

Hearing Elodie's words, even Philip, who had been holding back, was moved to tears.

This was the real little princess of the Cross Family.

This was his kind-hearted daughter.

Philip secretly wiped his tears and said, "Elodie, your mom is amazing. Despite the tough life, she raised you so well. We're very grateful to her. Don't worry, we won't treat her badly."

Elodie smiled, "Thank you, Mr. Cross. Your family is so kind. I'm very happy to have met you."

Since Elodie had just undergone surgery and couldn't be too tired, they only stayed for a few minutes before leaving.

Watching them leave, Elodie suddenly felt a void in her heart.

She didn't know why, but she had a special feeling for this family.

At that moment, the door to the ward was pushed open, and a nurse came in with a medical cart.

The bodyguard stopped her, checked her thoroughly, and then let her in.

The nurse wore her mask tightly, only revealing her eyes, with a pair of black-framed glasses on her nose.

She walked to Elodie's bed, slowly took off her mask, and said with a choked voice, "Elodie, I have something to tell you."
