Chapter 592 Joke Theodore

Upon receiving the message, Theodore's lips curved into a slight smile.

He casually replied, "Anytime works for me, just let me know."

Wilhelmina said, "How about tonight? I'll pick up Kaia and Paxon, and we can go to that restaurant you like."

Theodore said, "Sure, see you later."

Reading the simple words and friendly conversation, Wilhelmina felt a ripple of emotion in her heart.

Memories from years ago flashed through her mind.

"Wilhelmina, why do you add sugar to your coffee?"

"Because life is already bitter enough, why drink something that's bitter too?"

Theodore picked up the coffee and drank it all in one go.

Back then, she knew Theodore was hurting, waiting for the girl he loved to come back.

So, she always tried to find ways to cheer him up.

Wilhelmina saw Theodore as her boss, but more importantly, as a true friend.

At that time, she had just graduated, knew nothing, and was clueless about everything. Theodore taught her a lot.

Wilhelmina was always someone who repaid kindness.

So that night, when she went to give Theodore some hangover medicine and he pinned her to the bed, she didn't resist.

Even though Theodore was calling out another woman's name, and she knew it was a one-time thing, she didn't struggle and did the boldest thing of her life.

She slept with her boss.

Because Wilhelmina saw the pain in his heart, she didn't want him to suffer.

She also didn't want to miss the only chance to be with the man she liked.

She thought everything would go back to normal after that night.

Wilhelmina didn't expect to find out she was pregnant the day after she got promoted.

She was conflicted and wanted to tell Theodore that the woman from that night was her.

Wilhelmina knew that if she told him, Theodore, being the man he was, would take responsibility. Otherwise, she wouldn't have chosen him.

But that wasn't the life she wanted.

She couldn't bring such a big burden to him.

Living a lifetime with someone you don't love would be painful.

Wilhelmina didn't want him to suffer for a lifetime.

So she chose to resign.

She left, keeping the secret hidden.

If it weren't for Kaia's schooling, she wouldn't have come back.

Thinking about all this, Wilhelmina felt a bit bitter.

She had planned to pick up the kids herself after school, but she saw Theodore at the school gate.

He had picked up the two kids early and was walking out, holding their hands.

Kaia saw her and excitedly waved. "Mom, we're here!"

Wilhelmina quickly walked over, apologizing: "Sorry, I'm late. There was traffic."

Paxon immediately said, "It's okay, Wilhelmina. It's not your fault. My uncle should have picked you up to come get us."

Theodore, feeling attacked, couldn't help but tap Paxon's head. "You think you're so smart, huh?"

Paxon looked up at him, his bright eyes blinking. "Uncle, don't blame Dad and the others for teasing you. You're so clueless, no wonder you're single. You're not romantic or proactive at all."

Theodore couldn't help but laugh.

He bent down and kissed Paxon's cheek, smiling. "With a mouth like yours, I wonder who would dare marry you."

"Hmph, I already have a wife. Unlike you, still single at your age."

Seeing his disdainful look, Theodore was both amused and annoyed.

He tapped Paxon's head again. "You're shouting so loud, afraid no one knows your uncle is single?"

"What's there to be afraid of? I'm just helping you find a wife."

Watching them banter, Wilhelmina couldn't help but laugh.

She ruffled Paxon's hair, her voice gentle, "Let's go, I'm treating you to a feast tonight."

She reached to hold Paxon's hand, but he said, "But I don't like fancy meals. They're expensive and not tasty. Kaia says your cooking is great. Can I have your homemade food instead?"

Kaia immediately got excited. "Yes, yes! Then you can come to my house and play. I'll share my best toys with you."

Paxon nodded eagerly, looking at Theodore. "My uncle's chicken wings are delicious. Can he make them for you?"

"Sure, I love chicken wings."

Seeing the kids so eager to go home, Theodore raised an eyebrow. "Alright, we'll do as you say. Let's buy groceries and cook at home."

Wilhelmina felt a bit embarrassed. "Is that okay? I wanted to treat you to a nice meal."

"Food is food, no matter where you eat it. Don't worry, you'll still be paying for all the groceries."

He bent down and picked up Paxon and Kaia, one in each arm.

Feeling his embrace again, Kaia smiled widely, her bright eyes turning into little crescents.

Kaia loved being held by Theodore.

If only it could be like this all the time.

After buying groceries, they went home, and the kids went to Kaia's room to play.

Theodore and Wilhelmina went into the kitchen.

Seeing the tall, dignified man, his refined aura seemed out of place in the kitchen.

Wilhelmina quickly said, "Mr. Vale, you can sit outside. I can handle it. I know how to make chicken wings too."

Theodore didn't stop what he was doing. He just nodded towards her. "Put an apron on me. My hands are greasy."

He stood there with his arms open, waiting for Wilhelmina to tie the apron.

Wilhelmina's heart suddenly raced.

She picked up the apron and stood on tiptoe to put it around Theodore's neck.

But with him being 6'3" and her only 5'5", it was a challenge.

At work, wearing heels, the height difference wasn't as noticeable.

Now, in slippers, she felt really short.

She didn't know if it was her nervousness or the height difference, but she tried several times and couldn't get it on.

In the end, she accidentally fell into Theodore's arms.

Her face turned bright red, and she quickly apologized, "Sorry, Mr. Vale, you're too tall."

Theodore looked down at her, letting out a light chuckle. "You didn't like being called short before, but now you see?"

Wilhelmina puffed her cheeks, blinking her big eyes in protest. "My legs aren't short, they're perfectly proportioned. You're just too tall."

"Why don't you try using that stool over there?"

Wilhelmina's mind was a mess. She really brought the stool over, stood on it, and then Theodore suddenly bent down.

Their eyes met, and he smirked, "Not only short legs, but seems like your brain isn't working either."
