Chapter 516 Heart Fluttering
Sophia's heart skipped a beat at Alexander's words.
All her drowsiness vanished in an instant.
Alexander had lost his memory, but he had become quite the charmer. What was she supposed to do?
Sophia's heart was racing a bit faster.
She didn't dare open her eyes, afraid that Alexander would see the emotions in them.
She clutched the blanket tightly, feeling Alexander's warm breath.
She didn't know how much time had passed, but she felt a soft, warm touch on her forehead.
Then Alexander's low, husky voice reached her ears: "Sophia, I really want to hold you while you sleep, but I won't do it until you agree. Get some rest, and I'll come back to wake you up later."
Alexander quietly left the room and closed the door.
Only then did Sophia dare to open her eyes, gasping for breath.
Her cheeks felt incredibly hot.
Her heart was pounding like a deer running wild.
Was this what it felt like to be in love?
She had liked Alexander before, but they had skipped the normal dating phase.
They had jumped straight into physical intimacy.
So their feelings for each other had become somewhat distorted.
It didn't feel like pure love.
But now, her feelings for Alexander were simple and genuine.
Thinking about this, a smile appeared on Sophia's lips.
Alexander came downstairs and went straight to the kitchen.
Felicia asked with concern, "Is Sophia asleep?"
"Yeah, I told her to rest for a bit. I'll wake her up later. She's been exhausted from filming lately."
"That's true. If it weren't for you taking care of her every day, she'd be even more tired. Alexander, you've been working hard these days."
"It's not hard. It's what I should do."
"I hope Sophia sees your sincerity soon. Mr. Sinclair and I are looking forward to having grandchildren. A granddaughter would be nice too. I heard Joyce is expecting a girl, and Mr. Sinclair is quite envious."
Alexander chuckled, "No rush. We'll fulfill Mr. Sinclair's wish."
An hour later, the food was on the table.
Edgar came out of his study.
He saw Alexander wearing a floral apron, standing by the dining table.
Edgar couldn't help but laugh, "I didn't expect you to be so versatile. You can handle a scalpel, run a company, and cook. You've really impressed me."
Alexander glanced at him coolly, "How else could I win Sophia over? Are you feeling inferior? Then stop pursuing Sophia, or you'll lose miserably."
Edgar laughed, "The thing is, I'm not bad either. I can sing, and act, and have won major awards in film and music. Most importantly, I've spent more time with Sophia than you. Haven't you heard of 'love grows over time'?"
"Damn 'love grows over time'! If you dare to have any improper thoughts about her, I'll make sure you can't survive in the entertainment industry!"
With that, Alexander untied his apron and threw it at Edgar's face.
He stormed upstairs in a huff.
Watching Alexander's retreating figure, Edgar couldn't help but laugh.
It seemed his tactic was working. Alexander was really provoked.
He was doing a decent job as a catalyst for their relationship.
Alexander quietly entered Sophia's bedroom.
He pinched her flushed cheek and said in a husky voice, "Sophia, it's time to eat. You can sleep later."
Sophia frowned and swatted his hand away, annoyed, "Don't touch me. I'm not eating."
Alexander bent down and picked her up from the bed, coaxing her gently, "You've been too thin lately. You have to eat. I made your favorite lobster. I'll carry you downstairs."
Sophia opened her eyes in surprise, looking a bit dazed, "You don't need to carry me. Let me wake up on my own."
Alexander smiled and ruffled her hair, "There's a great way to wake up. Do you want to try it?"
Sophia squinted at him, "You wouldn't pour a bucket of cold water on me, would you?"
"How could I do that to you? My method is a bit special. You need to close your eyes."
Sophia, still groggy from sleep, obediently closed her eyes.
The next second, she felt a soft touch on her lips.
Before she could react, someone pried open her teeth.
Her breath was taken away, her mouth invaded without restraint.
Realizing what was happening, Sophia's eyes flew open.
She stared at Alexander's captivating eyes for a long time before she realized she was being kissed.
And it was a deep kiss.
Just as Sophia was about to push Alexander away, she felt a sharp pain on her tongue.
She couldn't help but let out a soft whimper.
Only then did Alexander release her, brushing her lips with a smile.
"I just wanted to help you wake up. I didn't mean to take advantage."
Sophia glared at him, "Your tongue was in my mouth, and you say you didn't take advantage! Alexander, you did that on purpose."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, "I really just wanted to wake you up. If you feel taken advantage of, you can take it back."
He leaned in, offering his lips to Sophia.
Sophia was stunned by his audacity.
She slapped Alexander's forehead, "Don't try to trick me. I won't fall for it."
With that, Sophia got out of bed.
All her drowsiness was gone.
Seeing something was off between them, Gordon whispered in Alexander's ear, "What's wrong? Did you upset Sophia?"
Alexander shook his head, "No, I just woke her up for dinner. Maybe my method was a bit too much."
"What method? Tell me."
Before Alexander could speak, Sophia glared at him, "Alexander, if you say one word, I'll kick you out."
Alexander shrugged at Gordon, "Mr. Sinclair, I can't say."
He looked like a bullied husband, making Gordon feel sorry for him, "How can you talk like that? Alexander made this dish for you and burned his hand. Do you want to kick him out? Alexander, don't listen to her. Sit down and have a drink with me."
Alexander pulled out a chair for Sophia, pressing her shoulders to make her sit.
Then he leaned in, whispering warmly, "Don't worry, it's our little secret. I won't tell anyone."
But Alexander's actions were more suggestive than words.
Sophia glared at him, "Just eat."
"Okay, try the dishes I made for you."
Alexander served several dishes to Sophia.
Then he glanced at Edgar across the table, "We're all family. Help yourself. I won't serve you."
With one sentence, Alexander distinguished their roles.
He was the host, and Edgar was the guest.
Edgar smiled, "Thanks. I won't be shy."
The meal was harmonious, with Alexander openly taking care of Sophia.
He even showed off in front of Edgar, secretly rubbing his leg against Sophia's under the table.
Sophia's knife and fork fell to the floor.
She bent down to pick them up, and Alexander did the same, their heads colliding.
Sophia's eyes watered from the pain.
"Alexander, can you calm down for a moment?"
Alexander quickly rubbed her head, "I just wanted to help you pick up the knife and fork. I didn't do anything."
"Is that nothing? You're like a cola can, rubbing my leg."
Alexander looked aggrieved, "I thought the air conditioning was too cold and worried your leg would get cold. I wanted to protect you. I didn't mean to flirt."
Sophia gritted her teeth, 'I don't believe you.'
She sat back down and resumed eating.
After dinner, Alexander took Edgar home, and Sophia took Cola for a walk in the neighborhood.
She hadn't gone far when she heard Cola barking furiously on the lawn.
Its barking sounded off, and Sophia ran over.
She was about to speak when she saw a photo under Cola's paw.
Sophia looked closely and felt her hair stand on end.
Daisy was covered in blood, her hair disheveled, glaring at her.
