Chapter 565 Twins
Upon hearing those words, Sebastian's previously smiling eyes instantly turned tense.
He immediately bent down to pick up Joyce. "Paxon, go get Grandma to grab the stuff. We're taking Mom to the hospital."
Paxon, who was stark naked, didn't care about his embarrassment anymore.
He jumped off the bed, his little bare bottom wiggling as he ran out.
As he ran, he shouted, "Grandpa, Grandma, Mom's having the baby! Hurry, we need to go to the hospital!"
Elise and Derek, hearing the commotion, rushed out of their bedroom and immediately saw the naked Paxon.
Elise glanced at Joyce and said, "Joyce, don't worry, it won't happen that quickly. Derek, I'll get the hospital bag, you get Paxon dressed."
The whole family hurried to the hospital.
Joyce was wheeled into the delivery room, and Sebastian held her hand tightly.
The last time she gave birth to Paxon, it was due to severe trauma, causing premature labor.
It brought Joyce immense pain.
This time, he was determined not to let her suffer like that again.
He held Joyce close, soothing her gently, "Joyce, if it hurts, just scream."
Despite the sweat on her forehead, Joyce shook her head slightly, "I can bear it, don't worry."
Sebastian wiped her sweat away, his eyes full of tenderness, "Don't be afraid. I'll be right here with you, not like last time when you had to face it alone."
Joyce smiled faintly.
The pain she endured during Paxon's birth had gradually faded with the sweetness of recent days.
Whenever she thought of the deceased baby she once believed was hers, her heart ached.
Back then, she truly thought it was her child, and it felt like her soul had left with him.
Under such a heavy blow, Sebastian had proposed divorce for her safety.
At that time, she thought she would never get through it.
But years later, she slowly emerged from that dark period.
Especially when she found out her son was still alive.
Joyce felt that all the past pain was overshadowed by this fact.
As long as the child was okay, as long as Sebastian was there, as long as their family could be reunited, all the suffering turned into sweetness.
Now they were about to welcome their second and third children.
Joyce was enveloped in this happiness, forgetting the past pain.
She gently stroked Sebastian's cheek, her voice soft, "Honey, our children will be born safely. Our family of five will be happy forever."
Sebastian was moved by her words.
He kissed her lips, his voice hoarse, "Sweetheart, all this happiness is because of you. Thank you."
Joyce's labor went smoothly, and within three hours, the sound of a baby's cry filled the room.
Paxon heard the cry and his eyes widened.
He looked up at Elise, "Grandma, it's my brother! My brother is born!"
Elise, excited, picked him up and kissed his chubby cheek, laughing, "How do you know it's your brother?"
Paxon replied seriously, "A sister's voice wouldn't be this loud or deep."
Derek laughed heartily, "You know quite a lot. You and your brother will have to take care of your sister together."
Paxon nodded eagerly, "I'll give her all the good food, fun toys, and New Year's money."
A little while later, another baby's cry came from the delivery room.
Paxon clapped his little hands excitedly, "My sister is born! Both my brother and sister are born safely. Mom is amazing!"
When Joyce was wheeled out, Paxon was the first to rush over.
He held her hand, his eyes full of concern, "Mom, are you in pain? I was so worried about you."
Joyce's pain vanished upon hearing Paxon's heartfelt words.
She smiled, "Mom's fine. Go see your brother and sister, they're adorable."
Paxon leaned over the bed, kissed Joyce's cheek, and said, "Mom, thank you for giving me a brother and sister. Dad and I will take care of them."
Sebastian laughed and patted his little bottom, "You're a big brother now. You need to act like one. No more climbing on Mom's bed, okay?"
Paxon nodded obediently, "Don't worry, Dad. I'll let Mom and Dad take care of my brother and sister for now. When they grow up, I'll be close to you again, okay?"
Seeing him so understanding, Sebastian felt a pang of tenderness.
He bent down and kissed Paxon's cheek, "You're also our precious baby. Mom and Dad will always love you. We just need to share some time with your brother and sister. Don't be sad, okay?"
"I know. I'm going to see my brother and sister now."
Paxon ran to the small crib with his little legs.
When he saw the babies inside, he frowned in surprise.
He looked at Elise, "Grandma, why are they so small? They're not even as big as my robot."
Elise laughed, "Twins are smaller than single babies. They'll grow soon. You were even smaller than them were when you were born, and look how big you are now."
Paxon looked at the babies and asked, "Was I this ugly when I was born?"
Sebastian laughed and ruffled his hair, "Don't call them ugly. They'll grow up to be as handsome as you."
The family wheeled Joyce and the babies to the hospital room.
Sebastian took a few photos of the babies.
He sent a message to his brothers.
Sebastian: [Introduce my kids. Now, who else has both a son and a daughter?]
Seeing the message, Alexander laughed.
Alexander: [One more kid means one more person to pull your oxygen tube. What's there to brag about?]
Tyler: [My daughter was born years ago. Yours just arrived? Poor kid.]
Sebastian: [I don't envy anyone, but some people might. @Alexander @Theodore]
Theodore, just out of his study, saw the message and immediately asked, [How's Joyce? Did she suffer a lot? I'll come see her.]
Sebastian: [She had an epidural, so it wasn't too painful. No need to come now. Visit tomorrow. Joyce needs to rest.]
Theodore: [Okay, I'll tell Dad. He'll be thrilled.]
Sebastian thought of Darren, who couldn't see, and sent him a video of the babies crying.
When Theodore opened the door, Darren had just returned from the bathroom.
He was feeling his way to the bed to sleep.
Hearing the noise, he asked, "Theodore, why aren't you asleep yet?"
Theodore helped him to bed, laughing, "Dad, Joyce gave birth. Both she and the babies are fine. Listen, this is the sound of the babies crying."
Darren's face lit up with joy as he listened to the cries. "That's wonderful news. I'm so happy for them."
Theodore smiled, "Yeah, it's a big day for our family. We'll go see them tomorrow."
Darren nodded and said, "I can't wait to meet my new grandchildren."
