Chapter 489 Alexander Chases His Wife
Alexander's lips were burning hot, and the heat from his breath was even more alarming.
Sophia felt something was wrong and softly called out, "Alexander, do you have a fever?"
"No, I'm just really tired. Let me hold you for a while, and I'll be fine."
"But why are you so hot? Let me feel."
Alexander laughed softly against her shoulder, "Feel where?"
"Stop talking nonsense. Sit beside me, and I'll get a thermometer to check your temperature."
Sophia immediately called a nurse and asked for a thermometer, placing it under Alexander's armpit.
Alexander hadn't slept for several days and had performed several rescues and major surgeries. It was no wonder he was exhausted.
This was the first time Sophia had seen Alexander like this.
Alexander usually had a nonchalant demeanor.
Seeing him in this sickly state made her heart ache a little.
A few minutes later, Sophia took out the thermometer and glanced at the temperature.
She immediately said, "Alexander, you have a fever, 103 degrees Fahrenheit."
Hearing this, Tessa immediately walked over and looked at Alexander with some concern.
"He hasn't had such a high fever in years. The last time was when he jumped into an ice hole to save Elodie when he was a kid. Sophia, we're waiting to see Elodie. You take Alexander home and give him some medicine."
Sophia said, "With such a high temperature, shouldn't he get an IV?"

She pulled Alexander's arm and asked, "Do you have medicine at home? If not, I'll buy some here."
"No, but you have some at your apartment. I want to go to your place."
Sophia drove Alexander back to her small apartment.
Alexander was feeling so miserable from the fever that he collapsed onto the bed as soon as they entered.
He held Sophia tightly and wouldn't let go.
He kept murmuring, "Sophie, I was wrong before. I shouldn't have used other women to make you angry, and I shouldn't have given you the cold shoulder for two years. Actually, I haven't been well at all these past two years. I think about you every night.
I want to be with you, to play and fight with you, and to treat you like a princess.

Alexander's voice was hoarse from exhaustion.
His tone was soft, without his usual carefree attitude.
