Chapter 503 Daisy is Dead

Alexander wrapped his arm tightly around Sophia.

"Are you sure you're okay? Let me check," he said, his eyes full of concern.

Daisy clenched her fists in anger, feeling the sting of Alexander's indifference towards her compared to his worry for Sophia. Everything she had sacrificed for had not yielded the results she had hoped for.

Why hadn't Alexander forgotten Sophia? Why had he completely forgotten her instead?

Alexander remembered Sophia, remembered Elodie, but not her. The thought brought an unprecedented pain to Daisy's heart.

With a weak voice, she said, "Alexander, I'm dying. Can't you care about me just a little?"

Alexander shot her a cold glance. "If you're sick, get treated. Don't act crazy here. We're not related, so why should I care about you?"

With that, he led Sophia towards the door.

Daisy closed her eyes weakly. This was the Alexander she had loved for so many years, and in the end, he remembered nothing about her.

Alexander had forgotten her completely.

As this realization sank in, Daisy slowly closed her eyes.

The doctor, noticing her condition, quickly checked the monitor. He turned to the nearby police officer and said, "The patient's condition is critical. She needs to be taken to the emergency room immediately."

Daisy was rushed in, but despite their efforts, the heart monitor eventually showed a flat line.

The doctor came out to report, "Officer, the patient didn't make it."

The police officer nodded slightly and instructed his team, "Notify her family to claim the body."

Alexander helped Sophia into the car and thoughtfully fastened her seatbelt.

Sophia looked at him in surprise. "Do you really not remember who that woman was?"

Alexander's eyes were fixed on her. "Why should I remember her?"

"She was your foster sister. You were very close for many years. But then she drugged you to make you forget everything so she could have you."

Alexander's eyes darkened. "So if she hadn't interfered, we would have been together?"

Sophia looked down, not saying a word.

Seeing her reaction, Alexander gently brushed her hair and said in a deep voice, "If she was the one who caused our separation, why should I remember her?"

His expression was cold and indifferent, making it hard for Sophia to tell if he was being sincere. Since Alexander's memory loss, she found it increasingly difficult to read to him.

The old Alexander was simple-minded, with all his emotions visible in his eyes. She could always tell when he was up to something. But this new Alexander hid his thoughts well, and Sophia had failed several times to understand his true intentions.

"I think Daisy must be very disappointed," Sophia said quietly.

Alexander glanced at her. "If you feel so sorry for her, why don't you go check on her?"

"No way. I hate her. She framed me so many times. Once, I was almost beaten to death by fans and nearly lost my dignity. Her dying like this is too easy. She should have spent her life in prison, being tormented every day."

Seeing Sophia's gritted teeth, Alexander could tell how much she hated Daisy and what kind of humiliation she had endured.

"Did I do nothing when she framed you?" Alexander asked, unable to hide his curiosity.

Sophia let out a cold laugh. "You did. You said Daisy had a heart condition and couldn't be stressed, so you asked me to forgive her."

Alexander's deep eyes froze. He stared at Sophia's clear, cold eyes for a moment, then bit his lip.

Was he really that much of a jerk before?

If he truly liked Sophia, how could he not have stood up for her when she was hurt and instead sided with someone else?

Had he really done something so despicable?

Alexander bit his lip hard. "That was really messed up."

Sophia chuckled lightly. "You think so too, huh? The old you was that messed up. Not only that, you flirted with female colleagues to make me jealous and regret leaving you. You constantly criticized me, saying you'd never marry me, which made my grandpa sick several times. But now, you don't remember anything, so let's just forget our past grievances. From now on, let's go our separate ways and live our own lives."

With that, Sophia leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes, ending the conversation.

Alexander could see that despite her indifferent demeanor, Sophia still cared deeply about the past wounds.

He gazed at her delicate face and said in a low, hoarse voice, "I'll find a way to make up for the hurt I caused you."

Sophia didn't respond, only curling her lips slightly in a cold smile.

Alexander drove her back to the Sinclair Villa.

Seeing them arrive together, Dean was surprised. "Sophia, Alexander, what are you two doing together?"

Alexander nodded politely. "She overworked herself on set and fainted from exhaustion. She had a high fever last night and needs to rest at home for a few days."

Dean gently touched Sophia's head. "You silly child, why push yourself so hard? The Sinclair family isn't bankrupt. We can still support you."

Sophia smiled. "I just wanted to earn some money to take you on a world tour. I'm fine, just need a few days of rest."

"I know your intentions. Now go upstairs and rest. I'll have someone make you something to eat."

Seeing Dean's concern, Sophia hugged him and reassured him softly, "I'm fine, don't worry. I'd like some of Sarah White's noodles."

"Alright, I'll have them made right away. Alexander, you should have some too."

Alexander nodded. "Sure, I'll take her upstairs first."

"Good, help her up. There are a lot of stairs, and she's probably weak after the fever. Support her."

Sophia could tell what Dean was implying. "No need, I'm not that weak. I can go up myself."

But before she could finish, Alexander scooped her up in his arms.

"Your grandpa's orders, don't blame me," he said emotionlessly.

With that, he carried Sophia upstairs.

Watching them, Dean quickly took out his phone and called Gilbert.

"Gilbert, come over for lunch. I have good news."

Gilbert sighed. "I can't. I just got word that Daisy died. She grew up with the Cross Family, and hearing about her death feels strange."

"She deserved it. If it weren't for her, Sophia wouldn't have ended up in the hospital."

"What happened to Sophia?"

"Because Alexander forgot her, she couldn't cope and overworked herself, ending up in the hospital with a high fever. She almost died."

"That serious? I'll come over right away."

"Bring a good bottle of wine. We can have a drink."

"Sophia's in the hospital, and you want to drink? Are you really her grandpa?"

"That's exactly why I want to drink. I'll let you in on a secret: Alexander stayed with Sophia in the hospital."

Hearing this, Gilbert laughed and slapped his thigh. "That's worth celebrating. I knew Alexander wouldn't forget everything. I'll be there soon."
