Chapter 547 Want a Child

Smith's restrained emotions left Bianca feeling a bit moved.

She could tell that the deep affection in his eyes was genuine.

Sometimes, it felt like a fire burning.

Bianca felt a bit uneasy under his gaze and quickly looked away, scolding, "Hey, watch it, we're in front of the kid."

Smith chuckled and patted her head, his voice gentle, "Alright, alright. I've booked a table at that underwater restaurant. We can take Paxon with us. They have diving there, and you can see all kinds of tropical fish. This season has the most variety. If you want to try it, I can take you."

Bianca's eyes lit up at this.

She had always wanted to dive and see the fish here, but after watching that movie, she never dared to come.

She was afraid of meeting someone like the movie's male lead, who would lock her in a cage.

But the desire to dive underwater had always been there.

Hearing Smith's offer, Bianca was instantly interested.

A childlike smile spread across her lips. "Really?"

Smith looked at her with eyes as gentle as water, "As long as you trust me, it's possible."

"Okay, I trust you." She agreed without hesitation.

But as soon as she said it, Bianca regretted it.

Why did she agree so quickly?

Did she really trust him that much?

Their marriage was a political alliance. If Smith wanted to harm her, she might end up worse than the movie's heroine.

But the words were already out. If she took them back, she'd seem too fickle.

Smith seemed to sense her hesitation and gently ruffled her hair, "Don't worry, I won't lock you in a cage. I don't want money; I just want a wife."

His words were tender and sincere, filled with deep affection.

Orla, standing behind them, couldn't help but grab Leonard's arm and squeal.

"Uncle Leonard, how is Smith so good with words? Even Aunt Bianca, who's usually so cold, is blushing. When will I meet a boyfriend who talks like that?"

Leonard tapped her head, "Aren't you embarrassed to say that?"

"What's there to be embarrassed about? We talk about much more explicit things in the dorm, even discussing men's sizes. Don't act so shocked; you're just out of touch."

Leonard laughed in exasperation, "You think you're so smart. Don't learn those improper things, or I'll have Tyler send you back home."

Orla was immediately silenced by the threat.

She had worked hard to get here, to be close to Leonard.

She wasn't going back until she won him over.

Paxon, caught between Bianca and Smith, looked back and forth with his big, bright eyes.

Finally, he couldn't hold back any longer and said in his soft, sweet voice, "Auntie, Uncle, can you please remember there's a three-year-old here?"

His words made everyone laugh.

Smith pinched his cheek with a smile, "Sorry, I got a bit too excited seeing your aunt and couldn't help myself. It wasn't on purpose."

Paxon nodded understandingly, "Since you just got married, I'll let it slide. But be careful with what you say. Uncle Leonard is almost thirty and still single. Seeing you two being affectionate might make him jealous."

Leonard didn't expect to be dragged into this.

He walked over, laughing, and gave Paxon a light swat on the butt, "You little rascal, talk bad about me again, and I'll pack you up and send you home."

Paxon wasn't scared. Instead, he glared at Leonard, "I have Auntie and Uncle to back me up. You can't bully me."

"You think having them on your side means I can't do anything? I'll wait until you're asleep, then sneak you into a shipping box and send you back."

Paxon immediately clung to Smith's neck, pleading softly, "Uncle, save me."

Smith laughed and patted his head, reassuring him in a deep voice, "Don't worry, with your aunt and me here, he won't dare bully you."

They all got into the car, laughing and chatting.

Paxon, moving between the adults, kept everyone in good spirits.

Seeing his adorable antics and Bianca's genuine affection for him, Smith leaned close to Bianca's ear as they got out of the car and whispered, "Bianca loves kids so much. How about we have one?"

Bianca was startled by his sudden suggestion and instinctively stepped back.

She glared at him, "Don't say things like that. What if someone hears?"

"It's fine. I've cleared the place. It's just us."

"But there are still the three of them."

"They're not outsiders. Bianca, you haven't answered me. Do you want a baby?"

Bianca's eyes momentarily glazed over.

She did want one. She had wanted one for years.

She still remembered the pain of going through an abortion alone.

Signing the papers alone, lying on the operating table alone, going home alone after the procedure.

She had borne all the pain by herself.

She didn't even have the courage to tell her family.

Thinking of this, Bianca's expression darkened. She glanced at Smith.

Her voice was faint, "Having a child without love is just hurtful."

Seeing her expression, Smith felt a pang of sorrow in his heart.

He gently hugged her, his voice filled with undisguised pain, "Bianca, I'm sorry."

Bianca smiled lightly, "It's okay. Let's go. Paxon must be hungry by now."

The underwater restaurant was a rotating one, allowing diners to watch the fish from multiple angles while eating.

Paxon clapped his little hands excitedly, "So many fish! There's even a mermaid over there, Uncle Leonard. She's looking at me!"

Leonard kissed his chubby cheek with a smile, "Then I'll throw you in, and you can marry her and have lots of fish babies."

Paxon clung to his neck in fear, "No, I already have a wife. She'd be sad if I had fish babies with someone else."

Everyone laughed at his words.

They chatted while eating, with Paxon's attention fully on the fish.

Orla, however, was glued to her phone, her expression anxious and on the verge of tears.

Leonard immediately asked in a serious tone, "What's got you so upset?"

Orla looked up at him, tears welling in her eyes.

"Uncle Leonard, I just found out in a fan group that my favorite actor was in an accident. His condition is unknown, and there's no news online. Someone just posted a photo of him injured. Look."

She showed her phone to Leonard.

Bianca, sitting next to Leonard, happened to look up and saw the photo.

Her heart tightened, and she spilled her coffee on herself.
