Chapter 526 Sophia is Frightened
Gordon squinted his eyes with a smile and said, "Just out for a stroll, waiting for you guys. Did you have fun tonight?"
Alexander held Sophia's hand and nodded firmly, "Yeah, we had a blast. And guess what? We're officially together now."
Gordon and Felicia both broke into excited smiles upon hearing this.
"That's awesome! I'll talk to your grandfather soon and get this settled. They've been waiting for this moment."
Sophia quickly interjected, "Dad, why are you so eager to marry me off? We just got together. We need time to get to know each other better. What's the rush?"
Gordon waved off her concerns, "What’s there to know? I've been checking him out for over twenty years. Besides, you two should have been together long ago. If it weren't for some interference, I'd be a grandpa by now."
Alexander chimed in, "Dad, don't worry. Your wish will be fulfilled by next year."
Gordon's heart swelled with joy at being called 'Dad.'
He couldn't help but laugh heartily, "Alright, alright. I'll talk to your grandfather. You two keep hugging."
With that, he grabbed Felicia's hand and hurried home.
Watching them leave, Sophia glanced at Alexander, "What nonsense are you spouting? Who said anything about marriage? Even if we do get married, I'm not having kids right away."
Alexander pulled her into his arms with a smile, "I know. I was just trying to make your parents happy."
They hugged for a while longer before Sophia headed home.
As soon as she walked in, she saw Gordon discussing the engagement date with Dean.
She shook her head helplessly and went upstairs.
Just as she was about to leave, the butler called out, "Ms. Sinclair, there's a package for you."
Without thinking, Sophia took the package, assuming it was the cosmetics she had ordered.
Back in her room, she opened the package immediately.
But as soon as she opened the box, she screamed.
Dropping everything, she scrambled downstairs.
Gordon and Felicia rushed over, alarmed, "Sophia, what's wrong?"
Sophia threw herself into Felicia's arms, pointing upstairs, "The package... there's a dead body in the package."
Gordon's face turned pale instantly.
He quickly ran upstairs.
When Gordon saw the package, even he, who feared nothing, broke into a cold sweat.
Inside the box was a rubber doll, a miniature version of Sophia.
The doll had been stabbed multiple times, covered in blood.
At that moment, Alexander also rushed upstairs.
Seeing the scene, he clenched his fists tightly.
Alexander immediately called his friend at the police station, "Send someone to this address right away."
Soon, two police officers arrived.
They took the evidence and reviewed the surveillance footage.
Finally, they said, "We need to investigate the sender's address. We'll get back to you soon."
After the police left, Sophia sat on the couch, trembling.
Alexander walked over and held her hand, comforting her, "Sophia, it's okay. They've taken the package. We'll catch the person soon."
Sophia's face was pale, her mind replaying the moment she opened the package.
She felt like she had witnessed herself being brutally murdered.
Her lips quivered as she looked at Alexander, "Alexander, someone wants to hurt me. This person must be connected to Daisy."
Seeing her still shaking, her hands icy cold, Alexander couldn't help but hold her tightly.
He kissed her forehead gently, "I know. We have some leads and are investigating. We'll have results soon. Don't be afraid. I'll take you back to your room."
Sophia clung to Alexander's waist, her voice trembling, "Alexander, I'm scared to go upstairs. I'm terrified."
Alexander stroked her head gently, "Then come with me, okay?"
Sophia nodded softly, burying herself in his embrace.
She couldn't think about anything else; she just wanted to escape that horrifying image.
Seeing Sophia so frightened, Alexander tenderly lifted her from the couch.
He turned to Felicia, "Mrs. Sinclair, I'll take her home to comfort her. She's really scared this time. I've never seen her so clingy."
Felicia quickly responded, "Alright, take her home. I'll send over some clothes and make some soup later."
"Okay, we'll head out now."
Alexander carried Sophia back to his place.
He laid her on the bed, bending down to look into her eyes.
"Sophia, I'll run a hot bath for you. It'll help you feel better."
Sophia clung to his hand, her eyes filled with fear.
"Alexander, don't leave me. I'll go with you."
"Alright, we'll go together."
That night, Sophia held onto Alexander tightly.
Even in her sleep, her hands were wrapped around his waist.
For several days, Alexander personally picked her up and dropped her off.
The police caught the person who sent the package, a hater of Sophia.
The person confessed that someone had paid him to do it.
But they couldn't find any leads on the mastermind.
As time passed, Sophia threw herself into her work, gradually forgetting the incident.
One night, after finishing a late shoot, she received a call from Alexander.
"Sophia, my car broke down halfway. Can Betsy drive you home?"
"Sure, don't worry."
Sophia quickly informed Betsy to drive her home.
After removing her makeup, she grabbed her things and left the film set, getting into her car.
It was past 3 AM, and she was exhausted from a day and night of filming.
As soon as she got in the car, Sophia started to doze off.
But she didn't realize the car was heading in the wrong direction.
When the car finally stopped, she opened her eyes.
Only then did Sophia realize the driver wasn't Betsy but a man disguised as a woman.
She tried to scream, but the man covered her mouth with a chloroform-soaked cloth.
Sophia instantly lost consciousness.
Meanwhile, Alexander's phone rang.
As soon as he answered, a sinister voice came through.
"Alexander, if you want to see Sophia, come alone to this address."
