Chapter 491 Elodie Recognizes Her Family
Elodie was so excited that her eyes turned red, "Can I take my mom back with me?"
Tessa smiled and patted her head, "Of course, Remy will always be with you from now on. She raised you so well, she is a lifelong benefactor to the Cross Family."
"Do I have to change my name? I don't want to be called Daisy. Every time I hear that name, I think of the person who wanted to kill me."
"You don't have to use that name anymore. From now on, you'll be called Elodie Cross. How about that?"
Elodie nodded excitedly, "It sounds great, I really like it."
Remy had already packed their things and followed Elodie back to the Cross Villa.
Seeing her finally return home, Gilbert was moved to tears.
He held Elodie tightly in his arms and said with a pained heart, "We finally found you. You've suffered so much over the years, it breaks my heart."
Elodie reached out her small hand, gently wiping away the tears on Gilbert's face, and smiled, "Grandpa, don't cry. Seeing you cry makes me sad."
"Alright, I won't cry. I'll take you to pay respects to the ancestors of the Cross Family. Your grandmother was calling your name on her deathbed. I need to tell her that her beloved granddaughter has returned."
Gilbert took everyone to pay respects to the ancestors.
Then he took Elodie upstairs to see her room.
When she saw the princess room that she had only seen on TV, Elodie's face lit up with joy.
The room still had things she used when she was little.
And her favorite long-eared rabbit.
Elodie picked up a photo album from the table and flipped through it page by page.
She saw herself before the age of three, saw Alexander as a teenager.
And saw her parents and grandparents when they were young.
From the photos, it was clear they really loved her.
They treated her like a little princess from a young age.
Every time they went to an amusement park, she was either on her dad's shoulders or on Alexander's back.
It seemed like her childhood was spent with them.
Looking at these warm photos, Elodie's lips unconsciously curved into a smile.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
She looked up and saw Alexander standing at the door.
He was holding a big long-eared rabbit, with a gentle smile on his face.
Elodie ran over excitedly, looking up and asking, "Alex, is this for me?"
Alexander smiled and patted her head, "Who else but you? Welcome home, our little princess."
"Thank you, Alex."
Elodie took the long-eared rabbit from Alexander's hands, her small hands constantly stroking it.
The rabbit's fur was very soft and felt very comfortable to touch.
This was a toy Elodie had wanted since she was little, but Remy couldn't afford to buy it for her.
She could only sneak into the toy store to touch it a few times.
Elodie suddenly noticed a small box inside the rabbit's dress.
She widened her eyes in surprise.
"What is this?"
Alexander smiled, "Sophia was filming and couldn't come, so she asked me to give this to you. See if you like it."
Elodie excitedly opened the box, inside was a beautiful bracelet.
The bracelet was adorned with small diamonds.
Elodie looked at Alexander in surprise, "This is something I drew for fun that day. I didn't expect Sophia to see it and have it made for me. Alex, Sophia is so thoughtful, I really like her."
Alexander smiled and patted her head, "I like her too."
"When will Sophia become my sister-in-law? When will you have a baby for me? Joyce is about to have her second child, and Mom and Dad are getting anxious."
"Soon, it should be in the next few days."
"Really? Then I need to prepare a gift for you two."
Seeing Elodie so happy, Alexander felt warm inside.
He gently patted her head and said, "I also invited Tommy to the family reunion dinner tonight."
Hearing this name, Elodie felt a bit shy.
Her small face instantly turned red, and her beautiful eyes sparkled.
"Alex, can you not tell him that I like him?"
Seeing her so shy, Alexander smiled, "Don't you want me to help? I know you like him a lot."
Elodie shook her head, "I want to wait until I'm better and pursue him myself."
"Alright, if you can't win him over, I'll help you tie him up and marry him to you."
"I wouldn't do that, forcing him isn't right."
"But you like him."
The two of them chatted happily, this was the kind of atmosphere Elodie liked.
Everyone in the family was sincere to her, she could feel their love for her.
In the evening, the family reunion dinner was held at a five-star hotel.
Elodie wore a white tulle dress, her hair draped over her shoulders.
She didn't wear any expensive jewelry, just some simple and delicate accessories.
She looked like an angel descending from heaven.
Philip and Tessa held Elodie's hands and walked onto the stage, formally introducing her to the reporters and guests as the long-lost daughter of the Cross Family.
Everyone looked at the Cross Family with admiration.
The whole banquet was very lively.
This was also the first grand banquet Elodie remembered attending.
She followed Philip and Tessa to greet some elders in the circle, then sat in the rest area to take a break.
Tommy came over with a plate of desserts.
He had a gentle smile on his face, "Elodie, I haven't congratulated you yet."
Elodie smiled, "I should be thanking you. If it weren't for you knowing Sophia, Alexander wouldn't have found me, and I wouldn't have been recognized by the Cross Family."
"That's because it was your fate to be found by them. Fortunately, your adoptive mother Remy protected you well over the years, even though she suffered a lot herself."
"I know, she has been brought to the Cross Villa, she will be with me from now on."
"That's good. You must be hungry, here's your favorite mango cake. Don't eat too much, it's not good for your heart."
Elodie smiled, "Thank you."
Tommy nodded with a smile, but his eyes were scanning the banquet hall.
Elodie smiled bitterly, "Are you looking for Sophia? She'll be here a bit later, it's a long way from the set."
Tommy looked a bit embarrassed and smiled, "I know she likes Alexander, not me. I'm just worried about her safety on the road."
"If you're so worried, I'll call her."
Elodie could tell Tommy was a bit distracted.
She took out her phone and called Sophia.
Seeing the caller ID, Sophia immediately answered, "Elodie, I'll be there in ten minutes."
"Okay, Sophia, Tommy is here too, he's waiting for you."
"You two have fun, see you soon."
When Sophia got out of the car, she immediately saw Alexander smoking at the hotel entrance.
Seeing Sophia get out of the car, he immediately put out his cigarette and walked towards her.
Seeing Alexander only wearing a shirt, Sophia asked, "Aren't you cold wearing so little?"
Alexander smiled roguishly, "Waiting for the one I love, no matter how cold it is, it's warm."
Sophia gave him a sidelong glance, "Smooth talker."
Alexander put his arm around her shoulders and whispered in her ear, "You can find out how smooth my mouth is by tasting it."
"Alexander, stop being so improper, there are reporters everywhere. I don't want to be on the trending news tomorrow."
"It would be great if we were, we could announce our relationship."
"Announce what? When did I agree to be with you?"
"You said you needed a month, it's already been a month. Are you trying to drag this out?"
Sophia smiled and followed him into the banquet hall.
But as soon as they entered, a fierce gaze shot towards them from behind.
