Chapter 610 I Am Your Dad
Joyce was totally baffled. Theodore didn't even have a girlfriend, so how did he have a daughter?
Joyce's professional instincts kicked in, piecing together the puzzle.
Her eyes widened as she asked, "Wait, are you saying Kaia is Theodore's daughter? And Wilhelmina is the girl Theodore spent the night with?"
Sebastian smiled and kissed her forehead. "You got it, babe. Paxon definitely takes after you in that regard. They’ve already registered their marriage. Theodore posted it in the group chat, and it's probably all over social media too."
Joyce immediately grabbed her phone and opened Theodore's social media.
The marriage certificate was right there.
She clicked on it to take a closer look and exclaimed, "Theodore really got married! Do you think Paxon would be even happier if he knew?"
Sebastian chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Maybe Paxon knew before we did."
"Then why didn't he tell us?"
"Paxon is very tight-lipped. He knew Edgar was his brother-in-law long before anyone else, but he never said a word. He even claims to know Leo's secret, but every time I ask, he stops halfway. He's very cautious."
Joyce laughed. "A three-year-old who can keep secrets like that? Paxon has a bright future as a top lawyer."
Sebastian glanced upstairs. "The kids are asleep. Let's go pick up Paxon and meet your new sister-in-law."
Joyce nodded excitedly. "Sure! Should I bring her a gift?"
"Let's wait and see. You don't want to overwhelm her."
They drove to the preschool.
As soon as they got out of the car, they saw Theodore holding Wilhelmina's hand, getting out of their car too.
He had a happy smile on his face.
Sebastian walked over and said with a grin, "Theodore, aren't you going to introduce us?"
Theodore's smile grew wider when he saw them.
He put his arm around Wilhelmina's shoulders and said, "Wilhelmina, let me introduce you. This is my sister, Joyce, and this is Sebastian. We're all family now."
Wilhelmina was clearly not used to her new role.
After all, these were people she had never dared to approach before.
One was the CEO of the Winters Group, and the other was a world-renowned lawyer.
Becoming family with them was beyond her wildest dreams. Even talking to them made her nervous.
Wilhelmina smiled shyly and said, "Mr. Winters, Ms. Blackwood."
Seeing her so bashful, Joyce immediately took her hand and said with a smile, "Wilhelmina, just call me Joyce. I knew there was something special about Kaia the first time I met her. Turns out she's my little niece! You have to let me hold her later."
Theodore laughed. "No way, I haven't even held her yet. This surprise is mine to give."
Sebastian patted his shoulder with a laugh. "It's just a daughter. I have two sons and a daughter, and I don't get this excited."
"You've had your share of excitement. You've had all the good news these past two years, always rubbing it in my face. Now it's my turn. I have a wife and a kid, and my daughter is already in preschool. Alexander's daughter isn't even born yet. Ha!"
Watching the two of them bicker like kids, Joyce smiled and patted Wilhelmina's hand. "Wilhelmina, they're always like this. Don't mind them. You and Theodore should take your time getting to know each other. As for the wedding, Sebastian and I will handle everything. Just focus on your relationship with Theodore."
Wilhelmina was touched by her kindness.
Her bright, doe-like eyes looked at Joyce, and she softly asked, "Joyce, can I really call you that?"
"Of course! We can take the kids out to play, go shopping, eat, and watch movies together. Our circle just got a little bigger."
Wilhelmina smiled genuinely. "Thank you. I'm so happy to have family like you."
As they were talking, Paxon came out holding Kaia's hand.
Seeing Joyce holding Wilhelmina's hand, Paxon’s big eyes sparkled.
He turned to Kaia and said, "Kaia, we're really going to be family."
Kaia looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"
"I mean we're going to be related by blood. Do you understand?"
Kaia shook her head. "But we're not related."
"We will be soon. Let's go see what they're talking about."
Seeing Kaia, Theodore rushed over.
He bent down, picked her up, and kissed her chubby cheek. "Kaia, I have some good news for you. Do you want to know what it is?"
Kaia looked at him, then at Wilhelmina, and said softly, "Theodore, did you agree to date my mom? If so, can I call you Dad? I promise I'll be good and won't cause you any trouble. I'll be your little bundle of joy. I'll even give Grandpa back massages and sing to him. Please don't dislike me, okay?"
Hearing this, Theodore's eyes welled up.
This child really wanted him to be her dad.
Kaia was so careful, afraid that she might be a burden and affect his relationship with Wilhelmina.
With teary eyes, Theodore kissed her and said, "We'll talk about it at home, okay?"
He was afraid Kaia might cry uncontrollably at the preschool entrance.
He didn't want people to know they had just reunited.
Kaia nodded obediently, though she was very curious.
She waved to Paxon. "Bye, Paxon. I'll tell you the good news tomorrow."
Paxon looked up at her. "You don't need to tell me. I already know. Kaia, don't cry too much, okay?"
Joyce wanted to hug Kaia, but Paxon stopped her.
He looked at her wisely. "Mom, let's not interrupt their family reunion. We'll have plenty of time to get close to Kaia later."
Joyce bent down, picked him up, and kissed his cheek. "When did you find out?"
"The night I stayed at Uncle's house. Kaia saw an earring that looked just like her mom's. That's when I knew she was Uncle's daughter."
Sebastian laughed and patted his little butt. "You kept that secret well, not even telling us."
"Of course. I promised Uncle I wouldn't say anything. He was afraid Wilhelmina wouldn't be with him. He needed to come up with a good plan."
Sebastian chuckled. "Well, he and Wilhelmina are already married."
Hearing this, Paxon clapped his hands. "Awesome! Uncle moves fast. He deserves a thumbs up."
Theodore took Kaia and Wilhelmina home.
As soon as they walked in, Kaia couldn't wait to ask, "Theodore, what's the good news? I really want to know!"
Theodore kissed her forehead and looked at her tenderly. "Kaia, I'm your dad."
