Chapter 559 Edgar Trending
Paxon rushed home and didn't even take a break before heading straight to Sophia's house.
As soon as he got out of the car, he sprinted towards the yard on his short little legs.
Running and shouting, he called out, "Sophia, I'm here to see you!"
Hearing Paxon's voice, Sophia, who was lounging on the couch eating fruit, immediately sat up and looked at Alexander in surprise.
"Did I just hear Paxon?"
Alexander chuckled and pinched her cheek. "That little rascal really loves you. He heard you were pregnant and rushed back overnight. If we don't give him a little sister, it would be a shame for his dedication."
Sophia pushed him away, her face full of reproach. "Why didn't you tell me Paxon was coming back?"
She quickly ran outside.
Before she could get far, Alexander gently pulled her back.
He softly patted her head. "Take it easy, be careful with our daughter."
Paxon had already run inside, panting heavily as he looked at Sophia.
"Is it true, Sophia? Are you really having a baby?"
Before Sophia could respond, Alexander grinned mischievously. "Call me Godfather, and I'll tell you."
Paxon immediately ran over, hugged Alexander's leg, and looked up at him. "Godfather."
Hearing that, Alexander's heart melted.
He bent down, picked Paxon up, and kissed his chubby cheek. "This is the result of my hard work day and night. How are you going to thank me?"
Paxon hugged his neck and kissed his face. "Thank you for your hard work. You can go now. I'll take care of Sophia and my sister."
"You little rascal, just like your dad, using me and then tossing me aside."
Paxon touched Sophia's belly and asked, "Sophia, if I talk to her now, can she hear me?"
Sophia smiled and ruffled his hair. "Yes, she can. Even if she doesn't remember anyone else, she'll remember Paxon."
Paxon's eyes sparkled. "Really? Can I sleep with you tonight? I want to tell my sister a story. I know Snow White!"
Hearing this, Alexander glanced at Sebastian. "Your son comes back and immediately tries to steal my wife. Aren't you going to do something?"
Sebastian smiled lightly. "Why should I? It saves me from him trying to steal my wife at home."
He gently patted Joyce's belly and looked at her with a smile. "Right, honey?"
Joyce glared at him. "Paxon just got back. I don't want him sleeping outside. You already left him with Leo, and now you want to leave him with Sophia? Is this how you treat your son? I bet once the new baby comes, Paxon will be out of favor."
Sebastian quickly soothed her. "I was just joking. I miss him too. No matter how many kids we have, Paxon will always be special. He's our first and went through so much to be with us. I'll always treat him well."
"That's more like it."
Joyce smiled and walked over to Sophia. "Sophia, now that you're pregnant, shouldn't you start planning your wedding and take a break from work?"
Sophia nodded with a smile. "I'm already handling work. I'll be done by next month. As for the wedding, it doesn't matter to me whether we have one or not."
Alexander ruffled her hair with a smile. "Don't worry. I've been planning the wedding for a while. It'll be perfect."
A month later.
Sophia and Alexander's wedding was held at the Royal Orchid Hotel.
The grand wedding moved the entire entertainment industry, and everyone was touched by Sophia and Alexander's love story.
At the same time, they were curious about Edgar's disappearance.
Since leaving the industry, none of his friends knew what he was up to.
Before the wedding, Sophia had called and messaged him on Facebook, asking him to attend.
But she never received any response.
After everything was over, Sophia sat on the wedding bed, unwrapping gifts.
As she unwrapped, she excitedly said, "Alexander, if I had known getting married would bring so many gifts, maybe I should divorce you and marry a few more times, like that singer. I could get more gifts."
Alexander laughed and pinched her nose. "Silly, what are you talking about? You can only marry me once in this lifetime. You're mine forever, no matter what happens."
He leaned in and kissed her.
Just as they were lost in their kiss, Sophia's phone rang.
She wanted to turn it off and enjoy their wedding night.
But when she saw the caller ID, she pushed Alexander away.
"Honey, I need to take this call."
Alexander frowned. "Your husband is ready to go, and you want to take a call? No way."
He leaned in to kiss her again.
Sophia covered his mouth and pleaded softly. "It's Edgar. No one has been able to reach him. Now that he's finally calling, I have to take it."
She quickly answered the call.
Edgar's deep, pleasant voice came through.
"Sophia, am I interrupting your wedding night?"
Sophia felt a bit resentful. "What's going on with you? Why haven't you been in touch? Is something wrong? I can help you."
Edgar chuckled. "Don't worry. I'm fine, just not able to show up. Your wedding gift should arrive tomorrow. Congratulations on finally being with the one you love."
Hearing this, Sophia's eyes welled up.
She knew about Edgar and Bianca.
She also knew Bianca had married someone else, which must have been a huge blow to Edgar.
She quickly tried to comfort him. "Edgar, I don't know how to comfort you. I just want to say that sometimes, once you miss something, it might never come back. Don't be too sad. There's still a long road ahead. You'll find someone special."
Edgar laughed. "You don't need to worry about me. Just take care of yourself and the baby. Having a child with the one you love is such a blessing. I regret not cherishing it when I had the chance."
"Edgar, are you okay? Where are you? I can come see you."
"No need. I'm doing well and very happy. Enjoy your night. I'll hang up now."
Sophia wanted to ask more, but the call ended.
She sat on the bed, stunned, with Edgar's words echoing in her mind.
She couldn't understand what he meant.
Bianca was married, so who was Edgar happy with? Or was he just delusional?
Seeing her troubled expression, Alexander immediately comforted her. "It's okay. He's thirty now; I'm sure he can make his own choices. You don't need to worry about him. What you should be concerned about is how we're going to spend our wedding night."
With that, he leaned down and bit Sophia's neck.
This wedding night was bound to be special.
Since Sophia was pregnant, Alexander couldn't actually make love to her, so they had to find other ways to satisfy each other.
Meanwhile, far away in the Snowpeakia palace.
Bianca lay in bed after her bath, scrolling through Twitter's trending topics.
Naturally, Sophia's wedding was at the top, but Edgar's whereabouts had also become a hot topic in the industry.
There were all sorts of rumors online, some saying he was heartbroken and had retreated to the mountains.
Others claimed he had given up everything to chase his love.
These gossip stories were even more discussed than Sophia's wedding.
Someone had posted a photo of Edgar.
Seeing that photo, Bianca's heart involuntarily trembled.
It was taken at the place where she was held in Snowpeakia, showing Edgar standing at the door late at night, looking up at the bedroom window.
There was a pile of cigarette butts at his feet.
That night, Snowpeakia had heavy snow, blocking many roads.
It was Bianca's first week of being detained.
She was very worried, not knowing how long this would last.
That night, a servant brought in a cute poodle, saying it was found by the roadside, likely abandoned.
She wondered why such a cute dog would be abandoned.
No one came to claim it, so she kept the dog with her.
Even now, it was still in the palace's pet garden.
Seeing this, Bianca felt a sharp pain in her heart.
She didn't need to guess; she knew Edgar had sent her the dog.
For those two years, she rarely heard news about Edgar, and he didn't release any new movies.
Perhaps he had been secretly watching over her.
Edgar's post continued to gain traction.
The entertainment industry was never short of detectives, and soon, news surfaced about Edgar being involved with a wealthy woman.
Fortunately, the photo in the post only showed Bianca's back.
This news caused a stir in the industry.
Edgar had always been known for his gentlemanly and reserved demeanor, never involved in any scandals with female stars.
Such a clean reputation made the news of him being with a wealthy woman like a thunderbolt, causing a storm in the already turbulent entertainment world.
Just as Bianca was about to have the trending topic suppressed, Edgar updated his Twitter for the first time in ages.
He posted a new update.
He recounted his entire relationship with Bianca, without revealing her identity.
In the end, he said, "Back then, to enter the entertainment industry and for my so-called pride, I gave up the person I loved most in my life. I wanted a successful career and to prove I could achieve everything through my own efforts.
I truly did it; I reached the peak of my career through my own abilities.
But I lost the love of my life, the most precious thing in my life.
If I could do it all over again, I would give up everything.
But this world doesn't allow for do-overs. The mistakes I've made can only be atoned for by moving forward on my knees.
Please stop discussing this matter. I've left the industry and don't want to take up public resources. Thank you."
Bianca lay in bed, feeling a mix of emotions.
Her feelings for Edgar had been locked away for five years.
She thought she could face everything calmly.
But when the past was brought up again, the bitterness in her heart was something no one could understand.
Just then, the door to her room opened.
Smith walked in, carrying a bowl of lotus seed and white fungus soup, and sat by the bed.
Seeing her looking unwell, he kissed her forehead and asked in a husky voice, "Bianca, are you feeling unwell?"
Bianca opened her eyes and saw Smith's face behind the golden mask.
And those deep, unfathomable eyes.
She tightly gripped the blanket and spoke in a low, hoarse voice. "Smith."
"I'm here. What's wrong?"
Bianca looked deeply into his eyes. "I'm not a cold-hearted person. I've never responded to your love because I've been hurt before and I'm afraid to take that step again."
Seeing her red eyes and sadness, Smith felt a pang of heartache and held her in his arms.
He gently stroked her head and softly comforted her. "I know. I've never expected you to fall in love with me quickly. We can take our time."
Feeling his warmth and presence, Bianca's previously aching heart seemed to calm down.
She nestled in Smith's arms, her tear-filled eyes fixed on him.
"If I never develop feelings for you, will you leave me?"
Hearing this, Smith smiled and kissed her eyes.
He spoke in a deep voice. "If you truly had no feelings for me, you wouldn't let me kiss you. Have you forgotten? Every time I kiss you, you respond.
Bianca, your heart is slowly opening up to me, even if you don't realize it.
I believe that one day, you'll hold my neck and tell me, 'Smith, I love you.'"
Bianca lowered her gaze, her eyelashes trembling.
"I only respond because I can't breathe when you kiss me."
Smith chuckled. "Is that so? Then let's do an experiment now to see if it's because you can't breathe or because you can't resist your feelings for me."
With that, he leaned down and bit Bianca's lips.
This time, Smith's kiss was not gentle and tender as usual, but rough and intense.
His kiss was like a storm, enveloping Bianca.
It seemed to be an outlet for some deep emotions.
Emotions filled with indescribable pain and deep affection, wrapping Bianca tightly.
She had no choice but to accept this forceful kiss.
From passive, she gradually began to respond.
She started to feel pleasure from the kiss, feeling Smith's love for her.
They didn't know how long they kissed until Bianca's stomach growled, breaking the moment.
Their eyes met, breaths mingling.
Noses touching.
The sounds of their passionate moments still echoed in the room.
Smith gently touched Bianca's red lips.
In a husky voice, he asked, "Bianca, tell me, was it because you couldn't breathe or because you couldn't resist your feelings for me?"
Faced with his intense questioning, Bianca retreated slightly.
Her voice still carried traces of passion. "I don't know."
Smith pressed her against the bed, his fiery eyes fixed on her proud breasts.
A low, unbearable sound escaped his throat. "Then I'll make it clearer for you."
With that, he leaned down and bit her soft chest.
