Chapter 553 Previously Discussed

Smith quickly wrapped the bandage around his wound, making sure Bianca couldn't see it.

After finishing, he looked up at Bianca's worried face and gave a small smile.

"It's nothing serious. Family feuds often lead to injuries."

He reached out to gently touch Bianca's cheek, but she pulled away.

Her expression was unreadable as she looked at him. "You've been hurt since the day we got married, haven't you?"

"Why didn't you tell me earlier? Why did you carry me when you were injured? Smith, don't you know that makes it harder for the wound to heal?"

Smith, seeing her frustration, pulled her into a tight embrace.

With his chin resting on her head, he spoke with a smile in his voice, "Bianca, can I take this as you caring about me?"

"Why would I care about someone who doesn't take care of themselves? You don't deserve anyone's concern."

Smith chuckled softly, his large hand gently stroking Bianca's head. "Alright, I'll listen to my wife from now on and take good care of my injuries. Is that okay?"

Bianca lowered her eyes slightly and said in a serious tone, "Do as you please. It's your wound; whether it heals or not has nothing to do with me."

Smith leaned in closer, his eyes filled with affection. "Really? If I'm not well, I can't take good care of you. The next little queen of the royal family is counting on me."

Smith always had a way of making his words sound tender and affectionate, leaving no room for blame.

Bianca gave him a sidelong glance. "Then make sure you heal first."

With that, she turned and walked away.

Hearing her words, a smile spread across Smith's lips.

Did this mean she was agreeing to be with him?

Thinking of this, Smith quickly dressed and followed Bianca.

Just as he was about to enter the dining room, he heard someone call his name from behind. "Smith."

Smith turned sharply and saw Eva Ross walking towards him.

She was Christopher's daughter, who had once tried to make her queen.

In terms of family hierarchy, she had to call Bianca her cousin.

Smith frowned, his voice cold. "What do you want?"

Eva looked at him with a face full of grievance. "Smith, why are you so cold to me? Have you forgotten our promise?"

Smith sneered. "Watch your boundaries. I'm now the prince consort to Her Majesty the Queen. If this gets out, it won't be good for anyone."

Eva stomped her foot in frustration. "You're going to forget me for that illegitimate daughter's child? Smith, you weren't like this before. You promised to marry me, whether I became queen or not."

Smith couldn't help but laugh coldly inside.

That must have been the other Smith, the one lying in bed, who had made those promises. And she actually believed him.

It seemed that person had sweet-talked Eva quite a bit.

His expression turned colder, his voice devoid of warmth.

"Mind your boundaries."

With that, he turned and walked into the dining room.

Eva, feeling indignant at his coldness, angrily followed him in.

As soon as she entered, she saw Smith gently kiss Bianca's forehead.

The man who had just been so cold to her was now tender and gentlemanly.

His eyes were full of deep affection and indulgence.

Eva bit her lip in anger and walked over to Bianca, forcing a smile.

"Bianca, may I join you for dinner today?"

Bianca wasn't very familiar with her, only knowing she was the daughter of the villain Christopher.

She looked at her indifferently, her voice lacking warmth. "Sure, have a seat."

Eva smiled, trying to hide her frustration. "Thank you, Your Majesty. Can I sit next to you?"

Just as she was about to pull out a chair next to Bianca, Smith stepped in her way.

He pointed to a seat nearby. "You know the palace rules. Only I sit next to the queen."

Eva bit her lip. "I just wanted to chat with Bianca."

Smith chuckled. "You two aren't exactly friends. Plus, you tried to take her throne."

"It was my father who wanted the throne. He's already been punished for it. Isn't that enough?"

Bianca's eyes narrowed, her gaze icy. "Do you know the price the Winters family paid for that? My brother and sister-in-law were supposed to be together, but because of your father, they were separated. Even their child had to be raised by someone else, enduring the pain of separation.

Christopher caused immense harm to the Winters family to help you get the throne. Almost everyone in the family was affected.

Do you think a simple apology is enough?"

Eva was left speechless.

Since Christopher's failure, their bloodline had been looked down upon in the royal family.

In the past, they would have been executed.

Sitting in her seat, she clenched her fists tightly.

She had many grievances, but didn't dare show them.

She forced a smile at Bianca. "I'm sorry, Bianca. I should be grateful you didn't wipe us out."

Bianca's expression remained indifferent. "As long as you follow the rules in the palace, I won't make things difficult for you. Otherwise, don't blame me for being harsh."

In her long dress, sitting in the dining room, Bianca exuded an innate regal aura.

She didn't need any extravagant adornments to display her noble presence.

This was something not everyone possessed.

The natural air of a ruler, that's what she had.

Eva, too scared to speak further, quietly ate her meal.

Throughout the meal, she watched as Smith took meticulous care of Bianca, treating her as if she were invisible.

It wasn't a meal; it was a display of their affection.

Eva ate in anger and frustration but didn't dare show it.

The man she had set her sights on had been taken by Bianca. She wouldn't let this go.

After the meal, she stormed out of the dining room.

Watching her leave, Bianca turned her gaze to Smith.

Her expression was cold. "She looks at you with affection. Did you two date before?"

Smith's heart tightened.

Maybe they had.

But that person wasn't him.

That person was now lying in a coma, and he was just a stand-in.

But he couldn't reveal the truth now.

He frowned slightly and said, "Bianca, believe me. My heart is only true to you. I've never been moved by anyone else."

Bianca looked into his deep, unfathomable eyes.

She couldn't see what he was thinking.

She smiled lightly. "You don't need to say that. For the sake of family status, everyone wants to marry into the royal family. At the time, Eva was indeed the most competitive. You approached her for the family's benefit, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's all political marriages. Do you think I still believe in pure love?"

Hearing this, Smith grabbed Bianca's hands, looking at her with sincere eyes.

"Bianca, you can believe that between us, there can be no interests, only love."
