Chapter 568 Impersonating Edgar

Bianca suddenly found herself at a loss for words.

Edgar had been to Winters Manor before and attended their parties, so he was known in high society.

If she outright denied knowing him, it would imply she had something to hide.

If she admitted knowing him, it would mean Edgar's claims were true.

As she hesitated, Smith spoke up, "Did Princess Eva bring this guy?"

Eva nodded, "Yeah, I thought he was from the Queen's hometown. He said he knew the Queen, so I figured they were old friends. I wanted to surprise the Queen for her birthday. Is there a problem with that?"

Smith's gaze was icy as he looked at her, "Did Princess Eva not check carefully before bringing someone here? A fraud doesn't belong in the palace."

Eva looked uneasy, "What do you mean? What fraud?"

"You know exactly what I mean, Princess Eva."

With that, he ripped off the man's mask, revealing a face completely different from Edgar's.

Everyone was shocked, except for Eva.

An official behind them immediately said, "So someone wanted to use this opportunity to slander the Queen. This person is vile. Get him out of here."

Smith stared coldly at the man, "Tell me, who sent you here to defame the Queen?"

Terrified, the man dropped to his knees, "I'm sorry, I just admire the Queen and wanted to see her in person. I had no intention of harming her. Please don't kill me."

"If you want me to spare you, then tell me who is behind this."

Eva immediately walked over and kicked the man, "I spent so much money to bring you here, and you're a fraud. You and your family must have a death wish."

Her eyes were filled with malice, making the man tremble.

He swallowed his words and shook his head desperately, "No one sent me. I was just foolishly infatuated, thinking she was unhappy with you and wanted to take her away."

Smith sneered, "Unhappy with me? And she'd be happy with you? The Queen's status is not something you can fantasize about."

"I'm sorry, I was wrong. I'm willing to accept punishment." He knelt and bowed, admitting his guilt.

An official behind them said, "Since the matter is clear, according to national law, anyone who attempts to approach the Queen must be imprisoned. The court will decide the sentence."

Someone chimed in, "Yes, since the Queen wasn't harmed, let's not cause a scene at the birthday banquet. It would bring bad luck for the coming year."

Bianca understood their intentions clearly.

They wanted to protect this man.

So, this matter involved them too.

Bianca looked at them coldly, "From the banquet hall to this lounge, without a special pass, outsiders can't enter. So, someone must have helped him.

Moreover, I suspect this room has been bugged to frame me with another man.

Smith, check for hidden cameras in the room."

Smith gently brushed her hair, soothingly, "Don't worry, whoever did this will pay."

He searched the room himself and found miniature cameras in a flowerpot and a floor lamp.

The angle was perfect for capturing the sofa.

Someone had planned for Bianca to rest here and installed the cameras in advance.

Smith threw the cameras on the ground, glaring at the officials, "Do you still think this was just an accident?"

The officials exchanged glances, and a bald one pointed at the man, "He must have colluded with someone here to capture evidence of him and the Queen, then use it to blackmail her. Am I right?"

The man immediately bowed and admitted, "Yes, it's all my fault. I did everything. Please punish me."

"You see, he's confessed. Let's arrest him and follow the law."

He turned to his men and said, "Take him away and interrogate him thoroughly."

Smith coldly interrupted, "Since the crime was committed in the palace, we'll follow palace rules. I want to use the centuries-old interrogation methods. I don't believe he won't reveal the mastermind."

The man turned pale with fear.

The palace had many forms of punishment, and even one could be fatal.

He had elderly parents, a three-year-old child, and a pregnant wife. He didn't want to die so soon.

He immediately begged, "Your Majesty, my family is being controlled. I can't tell the truth."

Eva's face darkened, "Do you think revealing the truth will spare your family?"

Bianca coldly smiled, "Don't worry. If you name the person, I won't harm your family. I'll protect them."

She turned to her secretary, "Send someone to protect his family."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Half an hour later, the secretary returned with a report.

The man's family was under control.

Seeing this, the man finally felt safe enough to speak.

He pointed at Eva and said, "It was her and Emilio William, the second heir of the William family. They asked me to impersonate Edgar and say those things to seduce the Queen. They promised me money and a chance to study music abroad. I'm just a bar singer who likes to imitate Edgar. They found me and asked me to cooperate. It was all their idea."

Eva's face changed instantly.

She immediately defended herself, "You're lying! You have no proof and want to slander good people. Someone must have instructed him to do this to drive a wedge between me and the Queen."

Smith sneered, "Really? Then let's bring Emilio here and confront him."

Emilio was brought in, and his face looked uneasy.

He denied everything, "Why would I harm my own brother? Everyone knows I used to be close to Smith. He must be lying. You can't believe him."

Smith glared at him and said, "I took a major project from you, and you hated me. You teamed up with Eva to use this method against me, right? If I'm not mistaken, your phone has already received the footage from these cameras. Once you had evidence of the Queen with another man, you'd make it public. This would force her to step down, and I'd be disgraced, unable to show my face. Am I right?"

Emilio laughed nervously, "Smith, if you were disgraced, it would also reflect poorly on the William family. Why would I do that?"

"Whether you did or not, the evidence will speak."

Smith played a recording, and Emilio and Eva's voices filled the room.
