Chapter 490 Helping Alexander
Sophia thought Alexander was a doctor and really had some quick way to reduce a fever.
She looked at him curiously, "What method?"
Alexander leaned close to her ear and said in a husky voice, "Making love with you, I guarantee I'll sweat a lot, and then the fever will naturally go away."
Hearing this, Sophia pushed him away.
She glared at Alexander coldly, "If you keep talking nonsense, I won't give you a single chance."
Scared by her words, Alexander immediately lay down obediently, "I won't say it anymore, go get me some medicine."
After taking the medicine, Alexander fell asleep shortly after.
Perhaps because he was too tired, he slept for a long time.
It wasn't until he heard the voices of children outside that Alexander slowly opened his eyes.
He opened his mouth, wanting to call Sophia, but then he realized his throat was so hoarse he couldn't speak.
Alexander immediately got up, got out of bed, and walked to the living room.
He immediately saw Paxon sitting on the sofa eating snacks.
When Paxon saw him, he widened his eyes and tilted his head, asking, "Mr. Cross, my dad said you had a fever and asked me to check on you. Are you still sick?"
Alexander smiled and waved at Paxon, "Come here, let me hug you and see if you've gained weight."
Just as he was about to bend down to pick up Paxon, Sebastian stopped him.
"You have a fever and still want to hug Paxon? If you infect him, and he infects Joyce, who is pregnant with twins, she can't afford any mishaps."
Alexander angrily kicked Sebastian, "Do you have to deliberately poke my sore spot? Who doesn't know your wife Joyce is pregnant with twins? Do you have to emphasize it so much?
Besides, my fever is already gone. It's not a viral infection, just overexertion. It won't be contagious."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow and looked at him, "Alright, you do look quite pitiful. Your pampered sister turned out to be a fake, and you don't even have a wife and kids. Let Paxon warm you up for now."
"Do you have to show off all the time?"
"Do you want to show off? I have a wife and kids now, and my life is as comfortable as it can be."
Joyce smiled and pulled Sebastian's arm, "Alright, stop teasing him. Alexander just recovered from a fever, and his body is still weak. If he falls ill again and blames us, what will we do?"
Sebastian smiled and kissed Joyce's forehead, "Okay, I'll listen to you. After all, he's so pitiful. Let's just help him out."
The word "help" almost made Alexander fall over in anger.
He staggered back and fell onto the sofa, right into Sophia's arms.
He took the opportunity to hug Sophia's waist and said pitifully, "Sophie, this couple is ganging up to bully me. If you don't agree to be with me, I'll be angered to death by them."
Sophia pushed him away, "Stay away from me. Paxon is still here, mind your manners."
"They don't mind, so why should we? Besides, Paxon isn't my son. If he turns bad, so be it."
Paxon squinted his eyes and said, "It's natural for my dad to kiss my mom; they're married. But Mr. Cross and Sophia aren't married. Hugging her like that is harassment, and you'll be arrested by the police."
Paxon's words made everyone laugh.
Alexander was both angry and amused, "Sebastian, how does Paxon know so much at such a young age?"
Sebastian smirked, "It's mainly because Paxon inherited the essence of Joyce and me. The two kids in Joyce's belly are probably even more amazing. They follow Joyce to court every day, and they'll probably be able to recite the law as soon as they're born."
"Look at how happy you are. Is it necessary?"
"You're just jealous and going crazy. I won't stoop to your level."
Alexander was so angry at Sebastian that his heart hurt.
He hugged Sophia and said pitifully, "These days, if you don't have a wife and kids, you get bullied. Sophie, let's have kids in the future, have eight of them, and make them jealous."
Paxon blinked his big eyes and said, "Sophia is a person, not a pig. How can she have so many at once? Mr. Cross, are you stupid?"
Alexander was hit again.
He pointed at Paxon and said, "How is your mouth so much like your dad's? So sharp-tongued at such a young age, you'll never get a wife when you grow up."
"Who says I won't get a wife? Sophia will give me one."
"Sophia's baby will be my daughter. I won't let her marry you, and you'll stay single forever."
Paxon's bright eyes turned a few times, then he looked at Sophia.
"Sophia, have you two made up?"
Sophia shook her head, "Not yet."
"So that means my wife isn't his daughter yet?"
"Who knows whose daughter she'll be."
Paxon immediately patted his little heart, "That's good, you scared me."
His cute appearance made Sophia's heart itch.
She hugged Paxon and kissed his cheek, "You're so cute. Even if it hurts, I'll have a daughter for you to be my little son-in-law."
"Okay, okay, when will you have her? I'll prepare a gift for my wife."
Alexander glared at Sebastian, "Paxon is just like you, a wife-doting person from a young age."
Sebastian didn't care, "You wish. Too bad you don't even have a wife."
As they were talking and laughing, Alexander's phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID, he immediately answered.
"Did you find her?"
"Mr. Cross, Daisy went abroad."
Hearing this, Alexander's eyes instantly turned cold, "Didn't I tell you to block all channels? How did Daisy escape?"
"Daisy had someone else dress up as her to distract us, and she used her real name, Emilia Turner, to board a flight. She's already escaped to Snowpeakia."
Alexander angrily punched the wall.
Daisy left so quickly, which meant she had long planned to escape once things went south.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have escaped so quickly.
Seeing Alexander so angry, Sebastian asked in a deep voice, "What's wrong?"
"Daisy escaped abroad. We haven't avenged Elodie yet."
Sebastian frowned slightly, "Aaron took all the blame. Even if you catch Daisy, you can't convict her."
"Daisy pretended to be a nurse and revealed her identity to Elodie, almost causing Elodie to die."
"But you have no evidence of what Daisy specifically said. The surveillance footage only shows actions, not sound. You can't convict her based on that alone."
"So we just let Daisy escape? Do we just let her get away with hurting Elodie?"
"I think Daisy believes Elodie is dead, so she left. When she finds out Elodie was taken back by the Cross Family, I think Daisy will come back. Then we can catch her."
A month later.
Elodie's heart showed no signs of rejection, and her body was recovering well.
Early in the morning, Elodie got up and started painting.
When the Cross Family arrived, they saw Elodie with her long hair down, sitting on the balcony painting.
Tessa wiped away her tears excitedly, "My daughter loves painting so much. Now that she's healthy, she can pursue her dream."
Philip patted her shoulder to comfort her, "Don't worry, I've already contacted the school. Once Elodie's body is fully recovered, she can enroll anytime."
"That's great. She can finally fulfill her dream."
"Let's go, let's take her home."
Tessa immediately composed herself and opened the door.
Seeing them come in, Elodie immediately looked up, put down her drawing board, and ran towards them.
She threw herself into Tessa's arms, "Mom and Dad, can I be discharged today?"
Tessa smiled and brushed her cheek, "Yes, you can be discharged today, and then we'll announce your identity to the public."
