Chapter 513 Who Let You Hug
Hearing the doctor's words, Paxon's eyes lit up with excitement. "Where? I can't see it!"
The doctor chuckled and ruffled his hair. "I'll print it out for you in a bit, but it's still not very clear. They're still developing."
Paxon grabbed the ultrasound and ran over to Joyce, grinning. "Mom, one of them is a sister! I can protect her with my brother."
Joyce smiled and kissed his forehead. "Alright, let's share this good news with your grandparents."
When Sebastian heard they were having a daughter, he excitedly lifted Paxon onto his shoulders. "I finally have a daughter! Someone to care for me in my old age."
Paxon, perched on his shoulders, squinted his eyes with a smile. "Dad, daughters can be a handful. You might still need me to take care of you."
"Who told you daughters are a handful?"
"Mr. Green. He said Lydia only thinks about Todd and even forgot his birthday."
The family of three happily headed home.
The Winters Villa was bustling with excitement once again.
Sophia received the news while on set and shouted with joy.
"Joyce, you're amazing! Twins! Now you have both a son and a daughter. Your life is complete. I'm so happy for you!"
Joyce, lounging on the couch and munching on the fruit Sebastian had prepared, laughed. "Grandma said we should invite more people over when Bianca comes home. You have to come!"
"Of course! I can't wait to meet our queen. I'll come early to spend more time with you."
"That's more like it. How are things with you and Alexander?"
Sophia shrugged. "It's normal. He picks me up from work every day. He seems more serious than before."
Joyce smiled. "If he wants to win you back and you can't forget him, then give it a real shot. Without the past drama, starting fresh might be good. At least his feelings for you are genuine."
They chatted a bit more before Sophia hung up.
She looked up to see Edgar standing in front of her, staring intently.
His eyes were filled with an indescribable sadness.
It was the first time Sophia had seen Edgar like this.
She immediately asked with concern, "Edgar, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Edgar stubbed out his cigarette, his face clouded with worry. "Sophia, is Bianca coming home?"
Sophia nodded. "Yes, why?"
"The Winters Family is preparing a banquet. Can you take me with you?"
Seeing Edgar's urgency, Sophia was puzzled. "Do you know Bianca?"
Edgar nodded heavily, his voice filled with pain. "She's the one I told you about."
Sophia's eyes widened in shock. "You mean Bianca is your former sugar daddy?"
"Yes, Bianca used the excuse of supporting me to give my mom money for her treatment. I always thought she was just toying with me. It wasn't until we broke up that I realized she had feelings for me even before she started supporting me."
Sophia was stunned by the story.
She never imagined the strong and independent Bianca had such a past.
But their statuses were worlds apart, and now Bianca was a queen, unable to control her marriage.
Thinking of this, Sophia looked at Edgar with sympathy. "But it's even more impossible now. Even if Bianca still likes you, she can't be with you. She's not free to choose."
Edgar exhaled a smoke ring. "I know. I don't expect her to reciprocate. I just want to see her. She's probably lonely in the palace. If possible, I could be her assistant."
"And what about your career? Are you willing to give it up? You've worked so hard for it."
"I used to think like you, that I needed fame and fortune to stand by Bianca's side. But now I realize that no amount of fame or fortune is more important than her. If I had understood this sooner, we wouldn't have broken up, and I wouldn't have hurt her so deeply."
Seeing Edgar in such pain, Sophia didn't press further.
She patted his shoulder firmly. "Alright, I'll take you with me. But you need to control your emotions. Bianca's status is different now. Don't cause her any trouble."
"I understand."
For the first time, Sophia saw tears in Edgar's eyes, something she had only seen in movies.
Seeing Edgar in such agony, she gently patted his back to comfort him. "Don't be too sad. I'm sure there's a solution."
Edgar felt a sharp pain in his chest.
He had never told anyone about this.
Now, sharing it with Sophia brought back memories of his time with Bianca.
Bianca, with tears in her eyes, looked at him with stubbornness. "Do you really want to break up?"
He had been ruthless. "Yes, I don't want to be your plaything forever. I want to make my own way, not live under a woman's thumb."
Bianca had smiled faintly. "So, all this time, this is how you saw me?"
"Aren't we just a financial transaction? You wouldn't say you fell for me, would you? Do you think I'd believe that? People like you marry for alliances, not love someone like me with no background."
Hearing this, Bianca clenched her fist and handed him a check from her bag.
She smiled coldly. "You're right. You're just my plaything. How could I have feelings for you? Never."
With that, Bianca threw the check at him and walked away.
It wasn't until later that Edgar learned Bianca had walked alone in the rain all night.
She had been in a car accident.
Bianca had been in a coma for three days and nights before waking up.
Edgar also found out later that when he was a resident singer at a bar, Bianca had been there.
That was two years before they got together.
Bianca's feelings for him weren't a whim; they had been growing for a long time.
She had proposed supporting him because she knew he wouldn't accept money from a stranger.
Thinking of this, Edgar felt as if his heart was being torn apart.
He couldn't help but lean on Sophia's shoulder, silently shedding tears.
Edgar choked out, "Sophia, I've lost her. She'll never come back. I just want to be by her side, so she's not lonely."
Seeing Edgar in such pain, Sophia gently patted his back, comforting him. "Edgar, there must be a way. Don't be so sad. You're making me want to cry."
She felt truly sad, for Edgar and Bianca.
Such a proud person, even if she couldn't bear to part with Edgar, she would never admit it.
Thinking of this, Sophia's eyes reddened.
At that moment, a strong hand pulled Sophia into a firm embrace.
Alexander punched Edgar, gritting his teeth. "Who said you could hug her?"
