Chapter 626 Wedding Gift
Leonard smiled, "Looks like you're not an ungrateful brat after all. I haven't been good to you for nothing these past days. I'll stay here and spend some time with my family, then head back in a bit."
Hearing this, Orla's face lit up with joy, "Really? Does that mean we can be together all this time?"
Leonard glanced at her, "Can't bear to be away from Uncle Leonard?"
"Yeah, I want to be with you every day."
"How did you become so clingy? Even more clingy than Paxon."
Orla giggled, "So does Uncle Leonard like me being clingy?"
Leonard frowned slightly, "If I say no, are you going to cry?"
"Yeah, if you dare say that, I'll cry right now."
"So there's only one answer to this question anyway, yet you're still making me choose. Are you kidding me?"
Orla hugged his arm, her voice soft and sweet, "Uncle Leonard, your engagement deadline is coming up and you still haven't found a wife. Why don't you consider me?"
She sounded casual, but her heart was racing.
Being so direct about her feelings, she had no idea how Leonard would react.
Whether he'd be resistant or disgusted, she had no clue.
Leonard finished applying medicine to her foot, tapped it lightly, and said with a smile, "What kind of person do you think I am? I'm not that much of a jerk to have those kinds of thoughts about a kid like you."
Hearing this, Orla pouted and muttered quietly, "I'll be 19 in a few days. That's marriage age in Snowpeakia. Uncle Leonard, why are you so old-fashioned? You're even more conservative than my grandpa."
Leonard wiped his hands while looking at Orla, "Tell your grandpa we're together and see if he doesn't break your legs."
Orla fell silent.
She had thought about this problem before.
Every time she did, the age gap and generational difference troubled her.
The key issue was that their families were old friends.
After all these years, the generational hierarchy was set. If her grandpa didn't break her legs, Randall would probably break Leonard's. Because if the two of them really got together, Randall would drop down a generation, which would be really awkward.
Seeing her silent, Leonard smiled and tapped her head, "Kids should do kid things. Don't think about all this nonsense. While you're young, learn more. It'll only help you in the future."
Orla pouted, "You're so good at lecturing others, but can't you do it yourself? Didn't you fall for Joyce when you were young too?"
"Can we not talk about that? That was ages ago."
The two of them took forever upstairs before coming down. The banquet had already started.
Seeing them arrive, Alexander called out with a smile, "Where have you two been? If it weren't for the generational gap, I'd suspect you of robbing the cradle."
Leonard glared at him, "You're a father now, how can you still not watch your mouth? If you can't say anything proper, just shut up."
"Fine, I can't talk. Just wait till I find your weakness."
Seeing Orla come over, Paxon immediately patted the chair next to him, "Orla, I saved you a seat."
Lydia also handed Orla a box of candy, "Orla, I saved this candy for you. It has the strawberry candy you like."
Seeing the two little ones so enthusiastic, Orla kissed each of them on the cheek.
She smiled and said, "Thank you! After we eat, I'll take you guys out to play."
Paxon immediately shook his head, "We can't. After dinner we have fun games to play. Todd, Neil and I already planned how to make a scene."
Hearing this, Sebastian smiled and tapped his head, "How come you're always involved in everything? Still playing games—let's see if your uncle will stop you."
"Uncle won't. His wife and daughter were found thanks to me. If I hadn't gotten Kaia's dress wet at kindergarten, uncle wouldn't have noticed her."
Sebastian thought about it—that was actually true.
Without Paxon, Theodore might still be single now.
He suddenly felt a bit proud. He raised his glass to the friends at the table and said with a smile, "Don't you all have to thank Paxon? Without him finding Theodore a wife and kid, who knows when you'd get to attend this wedding."
Tyler smiled, "If it weren't for Paxon, we wouldn't be this happy today."
Alexander joined in, "Right! Now that he's found a wife, I've become the one with the youngest kid among us. Where does that leave my dignity?"
Paxon blinked his big eyes and said, "Godfather, your kid isn't the youngest. My Uncle Leonard doesn't even have a wife yet."
Hearing this, Alexander slapped his thigh, "Right! There's still Leo! Haha, I'm not the last one."
Tyler, "What if Leo is like Theodore and suddenly has both a wife and kid overnight? Would you be happy then?"
Alexander, "If that really happened, someone would probably cry their eyes out."
As he spoke, he glanced in Orla's direction.
She was blushing, eating with her head down.
Seeing her shy reaction, Alexander knew he'd guessed right.
He looked at Sebastian with mischief in his eyes.
As they were talking, Kaia came over with Wilhelmina and Kaia to toast everyone.
Kaia held up her cup of juice, grinning, "Thank you all for coming to my mom and dad's wedding."
Hearing Kaia speak, Alexander was incredibly envious.
He smiled and patted Kaia's head, "Very nice, such a good girl."
Theodore beamed with pride, "Of course. Kaia is my most precious treasure."
Seeing his smug look, Alexander glanced at him, "You're pretty satisfied now—wife and kid, a real winner in life."
Theodore smiled and put his arm around Wilhelmina, "That's because my wife is amazing. Come on, let me introduce you all. Help look out for her when you see her around."
Their circle was untouchable in City B.
All top-tier wealthy families, plus the Winters family and the Vale family were connected by marriage.
The entire economic lifeline of City B was in their hands.
Wilhelmina greeted everyone one by one, feeling a bit nervous inside.
Now that she was with Theodore, her identity would be Theodore's wife.
Her behavior would directly reflect on the Vale family's reputation.
She couldn't let Theodore down.
It wasn't until after 11 PM that all the guests finally left.
Kaia was taken away by Sebastian.
Darren and the butler also found an excuse to stay somewhere else.
Now only Theodore and Wilhelmina were left in the house.
After going through the entire day's wedding proceedings, Wilhelmina collapsed on the bed as soon as she entered the room.
Too tired to even take off her clothes.
Seeing her like this, Theodore kissed her lips, looking at her with tender eyes.
"Now I'm a man with a wife too. Baby, I'm so happy."
Wilhelmina's heart fluttered at his words. Her delicate hand gently caressed Theodore's cheek as she looked at him with a smile.
"Honey, I want to give you a gift. Do you want it?"
