Chapter 506 Don't Cause Trouble

By the time Alexander realized what had happened, a bead of blood had already formed on his fingertip.

"Hey, Alex, you're bleeding," Elodie said right away.

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Is it bad?"

Elodie glanced around. "Nah, just a small cut. A band-aid should do the trick. I'll grab one."

"No need. Call Sophia over and tell her I'm hurt."

Elodie looked at his wound and sighed. "Alex, by the time Sophia gets here, it'll probably be healed."

"Just go get her. Stop arguing."

Elodie pouted and walked out of the kitchen.

She hurried over to Sophia. "Sophia, where's your first aid kit? Alex cut his hand while slicing fruit. There's a lot of blood."

Sophia immediately got up and headed to the kitchen.

Alexander was pressing on his wound, but blood still seeped through his fingers.

Sophia quickly grabbed a tissue and scolded, "If you can't handle it, don't try to show off. You're just making more work for me."

She pressed the tissue against his wound.

Then Sophia led him to the dining room, opened a cabinet, and took out the first aid kit.

She found some antiseptic and gauze.

Alexander looked at her with a hint of grievance and said in a muffled voice, "I just wanted to make a fancy fruit platter for you. Didn't think the knife was that sharp. Sophia, I didn't mean to cause trouble."

As she treated his wound, Sophia said, "Alright, stop talking. You're ruining my mood. If I'm in a bad mood, I won't treat your wound properly."

"Are you in a bad mood because you're worried about me?"

"I'm in a bad mood because you're causing me trouble."

Sophia used tweezers to hold a cotton ball, dipped it in alcohol, and disinfected Alexander's wound.

Alexander yelped in pain.

Sophia glared at him coldly. "My wound was worse than yours, and I didn't make a sound. Aren't you embarrassed, being a man and all?"

"It really hurts. Don't you know fingers are sensitive?"

"Shut up. Stop talking."

Alexander was too scared to make another sound.

He watched Sophia treat his wound with downcast eyes.

The cut had been small, but after Elodie left, he had cut himself again with the knife.

Alexander didn't know why he did it.

He just wanted to get Sophia's attention and keep her away from Manuel.

Once she was done, Sophia said to Alexander, "You go out. I'll finish cutting the fruit."

Alexander followed her and said, "I'll help you."

"The more you help, the more trouble you cause. I can't use you."

"I'll be careful."

Alexander stood beside Sophia, watching her cut the fruit.

After she finished cutting one type of fruit, he put it in the juicer.

They worked well together, and soon a glass of juice was ready.

Alexander put a straw in the glass.

He took a sip and then held it to Sophia's mouth. "Try it. It's really good."

Sophia was about to make another glass for Elodie and didn't notice that Alexander had already drunk from it.

So she took a few sips without hesitation.

Seeing that Sophia didn't mind, Alexander's eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

He took another glass to Elodie.

Elodie took a sip and then widened her eyes. "It's really good, Alex. You should try it."

Alexander raised an eyebrow at Sophia and said, "I already tried Sophia's. It's really good. These fruits go well together."

Hearing this, Sophia, who had finished her juice, stared at her straw for a long time.

She cursed silently: Bastard, pulling this trick again!

Manuel watched their interaction, feeling a pang of jealousy.

Even though Alexander had lost his memory, there seemed to be a natural attraction between him and Sophia, drawing them together.

This must be what people call chemistry.

He and Sophia didn't have that.

Manuel smiled bitterly, took a sip of coffee, and said, "Glad you're okay. I got some stuff to take care of, so I won't stay."

He got up to leave.

Sophia was about to get up to see him out, but Alexander pressed her back onto the couch.

"Your leg's hurt. Don't get up. I'll see him out."

Alexander followed Manuel outside.

As Manuel got into his car, Alexander leaned against the door, a mysterious smile on his lips.

"Mr. Watson, come by anytime."

Manuel chuckled. "Mr. Cross, you think you're part of this family now?"

"Not thinking. I am."

"If I remember right, you and Sophia broke off your engagement, and you forgot all about her. You two have no relationship now."

"We will soon, as long as you don't interfere."

"What if I do?"

"If you're not afraid of me beating you up, go ahead."

Manuel looked into Alexander's deep eyes and said seriously, "For the person I love, do you think I'd be afraid of you?"

With that, he drove off.

Alexander watched Manuel's car disappear, his brow twitching in anger.

His knuckles cracked as he clenched his fists.

His heart ached with jealousy.

It felt like someone was coveting something he cherished.

Could he really be falling for Sophia again?

His feelings towards Manuel were pure jealousy.

He didn't like Manuel being close to Sophia or interacting with her.

Seeing them together made him anxious and even angry.

This feeling was unfamiliar to him.

He had never felt this way before.

Alexander smoked a cigarette in the yard before going back inside.

Sophia and Elodie were playing a video game, their excitement filling the room.

Alexander glanced at the screen and asked, "Is it that fun?"

Elodie nodded enthusiastically. "Alex, Paxon taught me this game. He said his dad developed it. It's really immersive. Want to try?"

Without hesitation, Alexander said, "Sure, send me the link."

Elodie sent the link and gave Alexander a quick rundown.

For someone like him, a hacker, this game was child's play.

He quickly got the hang of it and played exceptionally well.

He chose a character who was an older brother leading his two sisters to find their parents, fighting monsters along the way.

The three of them quickly got into their roles.

When Elodie was in danger, she shouted, "Alex, help! A monster is going to kill me!"

Alexander immediately charged over with his sword, saying, "Don't worry, I'm coming."

They all wore headsets, so their voices matched the characters in the game.

It felt very real and immersive.

As night fell, they arrived at a mysterious village where they heard their parents were being held.

Alexander led the way, with Elodie and Sophia following behind.

The village had no streetlights, only the faint glow from the houses.

There were also the howls of unknown beasts.

Sophia, who was afraid of such creatures in real life, shivered and turned pale.

Seeing her like this, Alexander reassured her, "Don't be afraid. Come to me. I'll protect you."

Elodie immediately ran to Alexander's side. Sophia hesitated for a few seconds, but when she heard the beast's howl, she rushed into Alexander's arms without hesitation.

Alexander gently patted Sophia's head and said in a deep voice, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."

He couldn't help but kiss Sophia's forehead.
