Chapter 548 Wanting to Kiss for a Long Time

The heat from the coffee didn't faze Bianca at all.

She kept staring at the photo on Orla's phone.

The person in the photo was on a stretcher, being rushed to the emergency room by medical staff.

The man was covered in blood, his face completely obscured.

It was impossible to make out his features.

But the bracelet on his wrist made Bianca recognize him instantly.

It was Edgar.

That bracelet was something she had prayed for at a church after climbing 108 steps, wishing for Edgar's lifelong safety and happiness.

Bianca's hands gripped the empty cup tightly, her fingers turning white from the pressure.

Seeing her like this, Smith immediately stood up, grabbed a handkerchief, and started wiping the coffee off her.

As he wiped, he asked gently, "Did you get burned?"

It wasn't until she heard his voice that Bianca snapped back to reality.

She shook her head numbly.

But her eyes betrayed her anxiety.

Smith bent down to look into her eyes, his voice warm, "Bianca, let's go to the guest room and get you changed."

Without waiting for her response, he scooped her up.

He nodded to Leonard and the others, "You guys go ahead and eat, we'll be back soon."

This underwater world had not only a restaurant but also guest rooms.

Smith carried Bianca into a guest room that had been prepared in advance.

As soon as the door closed, he started taking off Bianca's coat.

"Sorry, but I need to check your condition."

Without waiting for her consent, he removed her coat and started to unbutton her shirt.

His large hand was quickly grabbed by Bianca.

She looked at him nervously, "Smith, I can do it myself. Please, go out."

Smith looked at her gently, "We're married. Sooner or later, we'll be together. I won't be at ease if I don't check. If you're embarrassed, just close your eyes."

With that, he slowly unbuttoned her shirt.

As each button came undone, Bianca's body was revealed to him.

Her smooth stomach had a large red burn mark.

Smith's cool fingertips gently touched it, and he asked in a deep voice, "Does it hurt?"

Bianca frowned slightly, "It's okay."

"It's nothing serious, just a bit red. Apply some ointment, and it'll be fine in a few days."

He took out some burn ointment from the first aid kit, squeezed it onto his finger, and carefully applied it to Bianca's stomach.

As he applied it, he blew cool air on it.

His lips were so close they almost touched her skin.

Bianca sat there while he knelt beside her.

His head was buried in her lap, blowing cool air.

The action was incredibly intimate.

Feeling the cool touch on her skin and the cool air from his mouth, Bianca couldn't help but close her eyes.

She didn't want to see such an intimate scene.

Nor did she want Smith to notice her current unease.

It felt like a long time had passed, and Smith still hadn't finished applying the ointment.

Sweat began to bead on Bianca's forehead.

In a hoarse voice, she asked, "Are you done?"

Smith gently massaged her stomach a few more times before saying, "This is just the first application. I'll reapply it when we get back."

"I can do it myself. It's not like I can't reach."

"But you won't be as thorough as I am. If a burn isn't treated properly, it can leave a scar. This area might show when you wear an evening gown."

He spoke so convincingly that Bianca couldn't find a reason to argue.

She could only lower her eyes and softly say, "Thanks."

Smith smiled, "I'd be happier if you stopped being so formal with me."

He took a loose-fitting outfit from the closet and helped Bianca change into it.

Then he knelt beside her, looking deeply into her eyes.

"Bianca, are you worried about the injured person?"

Bianca was stunned by his sudden question.

She didn't know how to respond.

Admitting in front of her new husband that she was worried about her ex-boyfriend?

No man would be that understanding.

Bianca's eyelashes fluttered a few times, and she replied calmly, "I've heard him sing. It would be a shame if something happened to him."

Hearing this, Smith's eyes filled with an unreadable emotion.

He gently patted Bianca's hand and said in a deep voice, "I have friends over there. I can help you find out about his condition."

Bianca nodded slightly, "Thanks."

Smith smiled, "That's the third time you've thanked me. If you really want to thank me, how about giving me a kiss?"

He pointed to his cheek, looking at Bianca with deep affection.

Faced with his gentleness and thoughtfulness, Bianca couldn't help but be moved.

She wasn't heartless.

Smith was approaching her step by step, and she couldn't keep retreating.

After all, this marriage would last a lifetime unless there was a political upheaval.

Instead of being awkward, she might as well try to accept it.

Bianca looked at Smith's passionate gaze, her heart racing.

She slowly lowered her head, intending to give Smith a quick kiss on the cheek.

But just as she was about to kiss him, Smith turned his head.

Her lips unexpectedly landed on Smith's lips.

Their eyes met.

Their breaths intertwined.

Bianca felt like she had been struck by lightning, frozen in place.

She thought Smith would pull away immediately.

But he didn't. Instead, he tentatively licked her lips.

Seeing that she didn't resist, he cupped the back of her head and deepened the kiss.

Bianca was about to speak, but her teeth were pried open, and her territory was invaded.

Her breath was swallowed.

A domineering yet gentle kiss overwhelmed her.

She never thought she would kiss her husband on the second day of their marriage.

She thought they would live separate lives, each minding their own business.

Smith's kiss was tender and lingering, not making Bianca uncomfortable at all.

Perhaps it was because she had been single for too long, Bianca initially wanted to resist.

But eventually, under Smith's gentle assault, she gradually succumbed to the kiss.

They embraced and kissed, their bodies unconsciously leaning towards the sofa.

Smith's body pressed against Bianca's.

After a long time, Bianca whimpered in pain, and Smith slowly let her go.

Seeing her slightly red eyes and the mist in them, Smith's voice was hoarse, "Bianca, there's something I've always wanted to tell you."

Bianca, dazed from the kiss, looked at Smith and asked, "What is it?"

Smith slowly lowered his head, leaning close to her ear.

His warm lips brushed against her burning earlobe, and he whispered hoarsely, "I've been waiting for this kiss for a long time, my love."
