Chapter 538 Masked Man
Bianca felt like she was transported back in time, to the moment she first saw Edgar in a bar years ago.
Her heart, untouched for so long, stirred slightly.
She stared at the man's face for a long time, then watched as he walked over to her.
He bowed deeply and said in a gentle voice, "Your Majesty, I'm Smith William, the youngest son of the William Family. I may not have the talents of my siblings, but I can sing, and I'd love to share life's joys with you. Please give me a chance."
Bianca's heart ached sharply at his words.
This was her old dream, to enjoy life with a man who loved her.
Why did Smith's words hit her so deeply?
Was it a coincidence or something planned?
Bianca looked at Smith's face and asked in a serious tone, "Why are you wearing a mask? Is there something wrong with your face?"
Smith smiled slightly. "If I deceive you in any way, I'm willing to accept the harshest punishment of my country. I wear the mask because I want my face to be seen only by you."
His explanation only piqued Bianca's curiosity further.
She knew very well that she was attracted to this Smith.
She seemed to see a shadow of Edgar in his figure.
But she was certain he wasn't Edgar.
The William Family was a prestigious family in Snowpeakia, with no connection to Edgar.
Seeing her emotional reaction, Sebastian gently patted her hand and said in a deep voice, "Bianca, if you're interested in this man, I'll investigate his background."
Bianca didn't hesitate and replied, "Okay."
The fourth prince, seeing the situation, immediately bent down and said, "Bianca, the William Family is a prestigious family. An alliance with them would greatly benefit our royal family. They control several gold mines and oil fields."
"I understand. Then it's him."
The fourth prince smiled and announced, "Smith, please ask Her Majesty for a dance."
Everyone present knew what this meant.
Some were happy, others were disappointed.
Smith William respectfully extended his hand and said, "Your Majesty, it would be an honor to dance with you. Please."
Bianca took his hand and walked to the center of the dance floor, dancing gracefully to the music.
Smith's bright eyes were fixed on Bianca.
A faint smile played on his lips.
Although she couldn't see his full face, Bianca felt he was familiar.
She looked up at him and asked, "Have we met before? Why do I feel like I know you?"
Smith chuckled softly. "Your Majesty, can I take this as love at first sight?"
"I haven't even seen your face, how could it be love at first sight?"
"But you felt something when you saw me, didn't you?"
"Just curiosity, not love."
"Curiosity is enough for me. Thank you for giving me this chance."
"When can you take off the mask?"
"When you fall in love with me, I'll take it off."
Bianca smiled. "What if I never fall in love with you? Will you hide behind the mask forever?"
Smith grinned confidently. "No way, I'll make sure you fall for me soon."
They continued their conversation, enjoying each other's company.
Paxon, sitting nearby, watched them with wide eyes.
He turned to Sebastian and asked, "Dad, is this guy gonna be my uncle?"
Sebastian nodded lightly. "Looks like it. What do you think?"
Paxon smiled and nodded. "I think he's cool. I really like him, but I feel like I've seen him before."
"I've never seen him. Where could you have seen him? This is only your second time in Snowpeakia."
"What if I saw him back home?"
"Do you have X-ray vision? He's wearing a mask. How could you recognize him?"
"By his actions and eyes. His eyes look like someone else's."
Sebastian didn't pay much attention, thinking Paxon was just joking.
When the dance ended, Bianca returned to her seat.
Smith naturally sat beside her.
He smiled and gently pinched Paxon's neck. "Hey there, little guy."
Paxon blinked his big eyes and then asked, "I need to go to the bathroom. Can you come with me?"
Smith nodded happily. "Sure, I'll go with you."
Sebastian immediately stood up. "No need, I'll go."
"It's okay. I want to bond with him. I'll need him to speak well of me to the Queen."
He bent down and picked up Paxon, heading towards the bathroom.
Paxon stared at his eyes the whole way.
In the bathroom, he couldn't hold back any longer and asked, "Can you change your voice?"
Smith smiled. "Why do you ask?"
"Because you remind me of another relative, but your voice is different. Can a person have two voices?"
Smith's eyes froze for a moment, then he smiled and said, "Maybe. If I remind you of someone, it means we're destined to meet. Let me introduce myself. I'm Smith William, and I might be your uncle soon. Please take care of me."
Paxon curiously stared at his mask. "If you take off the mask and let me see, I'll be your friend."
Smith smiled and pinched his cheek. "You have conditions, huh? I said, when your aunt falls in love with me, I'll take off the mask and show you. Deal?"
"Then make her fall in love with you quickly. I really want to see your face."
The banquet lasted until late.
The William Family stayed to discuss the wedding.
By the time everything was settled, it was past ten at night.
Bianca, wearing a gown, looked exhausted.
Smith walked up to her, his gaze gentle.
He said softly, "You should rest. I'll come to see you tomorrow."
Bianca nodded lightly.
Just as she was about to leave, Smith said, "Bianca, can I call you that?"
For a moment, Bianca thought it was Edgar calling her.
She turned sharply and met Smith's masked face.
She stared at him for a long time before saying, "As you wish."
Smith walked up to her, slowly bent down, and asked in a low voice, "Bianca, can I hug you?"
