Chapter 536 Providing for the Elderly and Arranging Funeral Affairs

Orla came downstairs in her pajamas after taking a shower.

Hearing the noise, Leonard turned around and saw a cute young girl standing at the kitchen door.

Orla had great skin.

She was wearing a set of pastel purple pajamas, looking adorable and innocent.

Leonard immediately called out to her, "Hey, grab a seat at the table. Dinner's almost ready."

Orla walked over and asked, "Need any help?"

"Nah, I don't want you to get burned. Your uncle would never forgive me."

"I'm not that delicate. I can at least carry a plate."

Just as Orla was about to pick up a plate, she noticed the beautifully arranged fruit platter and several of her favorite dishes.

Salt-baked salmon, white truffle mushroom risotto, creamy matsutake soup, and a plate of spaghetti Bolognese.

Orla was stunned.

Her eyes sparkled with delight. "Uncle, I thought you were someone who couldn't take care of yourself. I didn't expect you to be such an amazing chef. I'm in love."

Leonard smirked, "It's your first time at my place. If I don't treat you well, you'll go and badmouth me to Tyler."

"Am I that kind of person? At most, I'd just tattle on you."

"Alright, go check the fridge and grab a drink."

"Can I have some wine?"

"No way, kids shouldn't drink."

"I'm an adult now. Stop treating me like a kid. I can drink and even date."

Leonard snorted, "Try dating someone and see if Tyler doesn't break your legs."

Orla pouted and mumbled, "He can't see everything. No one can control me."

Leonard gave her a sidelong glance, "Do you think I'm dead? Unless you can date without me noticing."

Hearing this, Orla didn't dare say another word.

She focused on eating the delicious meal.

Leonard had been an international detective; nothing escaped his eyes.

With him watching over her, it was hard for her to misbehave.

As they were eating, they suddenly heard Paxon's voice.

"Uncle, what did you make for Orla? It smells so good."

He ran over with his short legs and climbed onto Leonard's lap.

Looking at the food on the table, he smacked his lips and said, "Uncle, I want some fish."

Leonard looked down at him, "Didn't you two eat?"

"We did, in Grandpa's hospital room. But Dad was in a bad mood, so he didn't eat much, and I didn't dare eat a lot either."

Hearing this, Leonard immediately looked at Sebastian, "Sebastian, is Mr. Vale not doing well?"

Sebastian frowned, "He's awake. The doctor said he could be discharged in a few days."

"Then why do you look like something's wrong?"

Paxon looked up at Leonard with big eyes and said, "Grandpa gave his eyes to Dad. Now Dad can see, but Grandpa is blind. Dad is sad."

Leonard immediately understood what Paxon meant and was shocked, "You mean Mr. Vale was the donor? He gave his corneas to you for Joyce?"

Sebastian nodded slightly, "I want to tell Joyce, but I'm not sure if it will affect her mood."

Leonard quickly advised, "Don't tell her yet. Wait until she has the babies. She's carrying twins, and any stress could be dangerous. Joyce is very emotional. If she knew Mr. Vale gave you his corneas, she'd be conflicted."

"That's what I thought too. But Mr. Vale's decision shocked me. I feel bad about it."

"I understand. Anyone would feel the same. A healthy person becoming blind because of you... I think Mr. Vale wants Joyce to forgive him. Having his children around is more important to him than seeing."

Sebastian nodded slightly, "I'll go upstairs and call Joyce. Paxon, don't eat too much. You'll get a stomachache."

Paxon was about to put a noodle in his mouth. Hearing this, he quickly stuffed it in and nodded, "This is the last one."

Orla looked at his sauce-covered face, finding him adorable.

She picked up a napkin and wiped his face, smiling, "Your dad went upstairs. You can have my bowl. I can't finish it."

Paxon's eyes sparkled, "Orla, if you let me have a sip of your drink, I might consider sleeping with you tonight."

Hearing this, Leonard couldn't help but laugh, "What, you need to be in the mood to sleep with someone?"

"Yeah, if Uncle gives me another bite of fish, I'll sleep with him too."

"I don't want you. You're restless and kick the covers. The one time you slept with me, I didn't get any sleep."

Paxon patted Leonard's face lightly, "That's because you don't have a wife. You don't know the happiness of having a wife and kids, you big dummy."

"Who are you calling a big dummy? Watch me bite you."

Leonard started playfully kissing Paxon's neck, making him laugh uncontrollably.

In the end, Paxon still slept with him.

The next morning, Paxon woke up and rubbed his eyes.

Why was he sleeping naked? Where were his underwear?

Why was Leonard sleeping on the floor?

Paxon climbed down from the bed and lay beside Leonard, propping his chin on his hands.

Feeling something on his face, Leonard opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw was a naked child.

The child was looking at him with big, blinking eyes, cuteness overload.

Leonard was about to pick him up and kiss him when he suddenly remembered last night.

His mood instantly soured.

Paxon noticed the change in his expression and asked, "Uncle, I'm so cute and handsome. Why aren't you happy to see me? Why do you look so upset?"

Leonard smacked his little butt, "You wet my bed last night. Should I be happy?"

Paxon looked at him in disbelief, "You're lying. I stopped wetting the bed a long time ago. It must have been you. You're bullying me because my parents aren't here. I'll tell Grandpa and Grandma to punish you."

"You little rascal, denying what you did. Luckily, I kept the evidence. Look at those wet piggy underwear. Whose are they?"

Paxon walked over, picked up the wet underwear, and looked at them.

They were soaked.

Even his pajamas were wet.

Paxon pouted, looking at Leonard with big eyes, his voice soft, "Uncle, are we close?"

Leonard knew what he was up to and smiled, "What if we are?"

"We're so close, you wouldn't tell anyone I wet the bed, right?"

Leonard grinned, "Then we're not close."

Paxon immediately jumped into his arms, hugging his neck and kissing his face.

"Uncle, you're so handsome, even more than Dad and Uncle. Dad is too strict, not as gentle as you. I like you the most. If you don't get a wife or have kids, I'll take care of you when you're old."

Hearing this, Leonard was both amused and annoyed.

Paxon's sweet talk was like honey.

But thinking about the last part, Leonard frowned.

"Do you know what taking care of someone when they're old means?"

Paxon blinked and said, "It means when you're about to die, I'll pull out your oxygen tube."
