Chapter 522 Edgar's Confession
Edgar had already ditched his suit jacket, now just wearing a black shirt.
The top button was undone, showing off his well-defined collarbone.
His deep eyes were filled with undeniable affection.
Seeing this, Bianca suddenly felt something was off.
Just as she was about to leave with her clothes, the door to the room closed.
From outside, Paxon's voice came through: "Aunt Bianca, I accidentally locked the door. I'll go get the key from Grandma. You keep Edgar company for a bit."
Bianca immediately shouted, "Paxon, your pants are still wet."
"It's okay, I'll go change in Mom's room. I have clothes there too."
With that, he took the room key and left with his little legs.
Now, only Bianca and Edgar were left in the room.
Paxon's footsteps grew fainter.
Edgar suddenly chuckled and spread his hands towards Bianca: "He said he wanted me to help him build this car. His dad is too busy with his mom to play with him."
Bianca laughed lightly: "Do you think I'd believe that? Paxon never needs help with his Legos; he always builds them himself. Plus, Sebastian and Joyce always make time for him every day. Edgar, you're even using a kid now."
Edgar sighed and curved his lips: "Do you think Paxon's smart enough to be easily used?"
"So you're quite skilled, repeatedly approaching me. Do you just want me to see your deep affection? Edgar, it's been five years, why are you still so childish?"
Edgar's eyes lowered slightly.
His voice was hoarse: "Yeah, if I hadn't been so childish back then, thinking you were only after my body, our relationship wouldn't be so strained now. Maybe we'd have a cute son like Paxon.
Bianca, I wronged you back then. After leaving you, I realized you never saw me as just a lover; you always loved me deeply.
But I was foolish, pushing you away to prove my worth.
Bianca, I was wrong. Can you give me a chance to make it up to you? I don't need any title, just let me stay by your side.
When you're lonely, let me talk to you, okay?"
Edgar slowly walked to Bianca's side, his deep eyes fixed on her.
His fingertips couldn't help but brush against Bianca's slightly reddened eyes.
But as soon as he touched her, she pushed him away.
She looked up at Edgar, a faint smile on her lips: "Edgar, who gave you the confidence to think I'd still have feelings for you? You were the one who said we'd cut ties completely, never to have any connection again. Why would I, Bianca, degrade myself by continuing to like you?"
Edgar was left speechless.
Back then, to break into the entertainment industry and hide the fact that he had once been someone's lover, he severed all ties with Bianca.
As if she had never existed in his life.
He had said the harshest words and done the most heartless things to her.
Now, bringing it up again, he felt ashamed.
Edgar closed his eyes in pain, his throat feeling like it was filled with knives, the pain unbearable.
"Bianca, I was wrong. I haven't been able to forget you all these years. My feelings for you have long since changed from a sugar daddy relationship to that of lovers, I just didn't realize it.
When I achieved success, standing on the podium, receiving everyone's blessings and admiration, no one knew that the person I most wanted to see was you.
I wanted to tell you that being with you meant more than any of these achievements, but I lost you in my pursuit of them.
Bianca, I was really wrong. I'm in so much pain now. Can we start over?
This time, let me love you, let me take care of everything for you. Even if it means being your little lover, just let me be with you."
Edgar grew more emotional as he spoke, tears sliding down his cheeks.
He had never believed in soul-stirring love, nor that a sugar daddy could fall for their lover.
As a lover, he constantly reminded himself not to lose himself, not to fall for the sugar daddy.
Not to be like his mother, loving the wrong person.
In the end, the one who suffered was himself.
So, in his relationship with Bianca, Edgar always maintained his self-control, not letting himself get lost.
But he never realized that Bianca's reason for having him as a lover was just an excuse, a way to give him money to help his mother with her medical bills.
Even when they first got together, he would just cook for her, watch movies, and go shopping.
Until one time, they talked about their parents' relationships, finding many common topics.
That time, they drank a lot and ended up having sex.
From then on, their relationship became very close.
Bianca spoiled him even more.
She bought him the best things, took him to the finest restaurants, and traveled abroad with him.
Back then, Bianca's smile was sweet, not as cold as it was now.
Later, they separated, and she went abroad with her father Derek to manage their overseas business.
They didn't contact each other again.
Recalling the past, Edgar's heart ached deeply.
With tears in his eyes, he looked at Bianca and couldn't help but pull her into his arms.
His large hand gently stroked her head, his voice choked: "Bianca, I wish we could go back to the past, back to those two years we were together."
Bianca tried hard to control her emotions.
Her hands clenched into fists at her sides.
The pain in her eyes was unmistakable.
Bianca would never forget the joy she felt when she found out she was pregnant.
She took the pregnancy test to Edgar, wanting to confess that she had always loved him.
She wanted to marry him, to have a child with him.
But that happiness lasted only a few hours. When she found Edgar and was about to speak, he broke up with her.
He was so resolute, not giving her any room to maneuver.
At that moment, she wanted to tell him she was pregnant, but her pride wouldn't let her use the child to bind Edgar.
Bianca thought she had found true love, that she wouldn't be affected by her parents' relationship and could face marriage confidently.
But reality hit her hard.
It completely reopened the wound she had spent two years healing.
It made her see the truth about love and relationships.
She had asked Edgar if he would change his mind if she had a child.
But Edgar decisively said that even if she had a child, he wouldn't let her keep it because their relationship wouldn't bring the child happiness, only pain.
With his firm answer, Bianca went to the hospital alone.
She wasn't one to drag things out; if it was over, it had to be clean.
She didn't want the child to be born and be pointed at by others.
So, she had an abortion alone.
But Bianca overestimated her ability to handle it. After the surgery, she fainted in the pouring rain due to extreme heartache.
She had a fever for three days and nights. No matter how her family asked what had happened, she kept silent.
She buried that relationship deep in her heart, never touching it again.
Recalling these memories, Bianca's lips curled into a cold smile.
She had no sympathy for Edgar's tearful plea.
Bianca coldly said, "Edgar, we're all adults. We have to take responsibility for our decisions. Some people I can forgive, but some I will never forgive, and you are one of those people."
With that, she pushed Edgar away and turned to leave.
