Chapter 561 Scheme Failed

In the photo, there was a tall, handsome man holding a woman in his arms. That woman was none other than Eva, and it looked like they were kissing.

But what shocked Bianca the most wasn't the kiss—it was the watch on the man's wrist.

The watch was from the William Family's ultra-luxury brand, and there was only one in the world.

It was worth two hundred million dollars.

And it was always on Smith's wrist.

Everyone in the industry knew this.

Bianca had indeed seen this watch on Smith's wrist before.

So, was the man in the photo Smith?

Bianca's hand, holding the photo, turned pale, and her eyes darkened with uncertainty.

She didn't want to delve into Smith's past relationships. After all, at their age, it was impossible not to have any romantic history.

Besides, hadn't she dated Edgar before?

Why should she demand that Smith be completely clean?

But the fact that this photo had made its way to her through multiple layers of screening meant someone wanted to make an issue out of it.

And that person was none other than Eva.

Realizing this, Bianca called her secretary.

She handed him the photo and asked in a low voice, "Who is the man in this photo?"

The secretary broke into a cold sweat.

He immediately nodded and said, "It's the prince."

Bianca lowered her eyes, thought for a few seconds, and then said, "Invite Princess Eva to lunch at my restaurant tomorrow."

When Eva received the message, a flash of malice crossed her eyes. "Bianca, seeing your man once had something with me, you finally can't sit still, can you? If I can't have him, neither will you!"

She dressed up in a white princess dress and attended the lunch in full regalia.

When she was led into the restaurant, she realized it wasn't just Bianca there; the Allegra couple was also present.

Seeing her, the Allegra couple looked surprised. "Why are you here?"

Bianca glanced at them indifferently and said, "I invited her. Please, everyone, have a seat."

Eva was led to her seat by a maid.

She didn't understand why Bianca had called the Allegra couple over.

Her earlier confidence now wavered.

As she grew more nervous, Bianca's calm voice suddenly broke the silence. "I received an anonymous letter yesterday with some photos. I think they might concern those present, so I invited everyone here to clarify things."

Bianca nodded to her secretary, who then distributed the photos to the Allegra couple and Eva. Upon seeing the photos, the Allegra couple's faces changed dramatically.

They knew exactly what was going on.

The man in the photos wasn't the current Smith. If Bianca discovered the truth, their entire family would be guilty of deception and face military punishment.

Caspian William immediately stood up and nodded to Bianca. "Your Majesty, Christopher did intend for Princess Eva to marry Smith, but the condition was that the William Family had to join his Black Wind Society. I refused on the spot.

So, the marriage was called off. I swear, nothing happened between Smith and Princess Eva. Don't believe these photos; they were staged. Someone did this on purpose."

Allegra chimed in, "Yeah, you know the palace rules. No princess is allowed to have any intimate contact with a man before marriage. If they do, they face family punishment. I don't think Princess Eva would easily break those rules."

They shifted all the blame onto Eva, making her face flush with anger.

She had intended to disrupt Bianca's happy marriage, but Bianca had invited the Allegra couple.

With just a few words, they had cleared Smith of any involvement with her, making her the scapegoat.

Had they forgotten how they had pushed her and Smith together?

How had they gotten her drunk to make her sleep with Smith?

Now that she was losing, they wanted to pin everything on her.

But if she revealed the truth, Bianca would punish her according to palace rules.

She would be branded as promiscuous.

Realizing this, Eva finally understood why Bianca had called the Allegra couple over.

She wanted them to fight among themselves while she reaped the benefits.

What a cunning woman!

Bianca looked at Eva with an unreadable expression. "Princess Eva, I won't wrong an innocent person. I want to hear your explanation."

Eva had no choice but to swallow her pride. She immediately stood up and replied, "Your Majesty, nothing happened between Smith and me. We just attended some events together and were photographed by someone with ill intentions. We are innocent."

Bianca raised an eyebrow. "Really? I thought if you two were madly in love, I might let you have him. But it seems I misunderstood."

"Yes, it's all a misunderstanding. We never dated, let alone had any intimate contact."

Bianca held the photos, a faint, inscrutable smile on her lips.

"In that case, there's no need for Princess Eva to send me such things again. If I find out again, I will believe it, and I won't show any favoritism or plead for you.

You know how serious it is for a princess to have intimate relations with a man before marriage. So, please, take care of yourself."

Hearing this, Eva broke into a cold sweat.

She hadn't expected Bianca to find out so quickly.

If Bianca discovered that she and Smith had once had a relationship, she would indeed be punished by palace rules.

She would lose half her life.

Realizing this, Eva immediately bowed her head and apologized. "I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I was momentarily foolish and wanted to ruin your marriage with the prince. It was my mistake. I won't dare do it again."

Bianca glanced at her. "So, you still have your eyes on my man, hoping to ruin our relationship and benefit from it, right?"

Eva quickly nodded. "I don't dare. It was my mistake. Smith is the prince, your man. I won't contact him again or have any thoughts about him. Please forgive me."

Bianca's bright eyes slowly lifted as she looked at her secretary. "Princess Eva coveted someone she shouldn't have. She seems to have forgotten the palace rules. Confine her for a month and have her copy the palace rules a thousand times."

"Yes, Princess Eva, please."

Eva was led away, feeling resentful but having no choice but to comply.

Confinement was better than family punishment.

Seeing how Bianca calmly dealt with Eva, the Allegra couple grew worried that she might continue investigating the matter.

They immediately nodded and said, "Your Majesty, you've always loved jewelry. The William Family happens to own a jewelry company, all top luxury brands globally. We would like to transfer it to your name as a wedding gift."

Bianca couldn't help but laugh inwardly.

They were offering her a wedding gift over a month after the wedding.

How amusing.

Clearly, they didn't want her to continue investigating this matter.

The William Family's jewelry business accounted for a third of their family assets.

For them to give it to her so easily, Bianca felt something was off.

Why were they so afraid of her continuing the investigation?

Was there a secret she didn't know about?

Thinking this, Bianca maintained her composure and said, "In that case, I'll accept it on behalf of Smith. If there's nothing else, you can leave after lunch."

Once everything was over, Bianca returned to her bedroom.

Snowball suddenly darted out from under the sofa.

It jumped into Bianca's arms, making whimpering sounds.

Bianca bent down to hold it, gently stroking its head. "It's only been half a day, and you miss me already? Come on, let's go to bed."

She carried Snowball towards the bedroom.

As she reached the bed, Snowball suddenly jumped out of her arms.

It pounced on one of Smith's ties on the bed.

Its little paws were all over the tie, sniffing and nuzzling it, while making mournful sounds.

Hearing this, Bianca's heart tightened.

She immediately picked up Snowball and said, "Are you missing Smith?"

Snowball started barking at the tie.

It barked like crazy, its voice growing hoarse.

Tears even rolled down its eyes.

Seeing this, Bianca felt something was wrong. They say animals have a sixth sense, and Snowball's behavior made her worry about Smith.

He had been gone for two days and nights without contacting her once.

What was he dealing with that he didn't even have time to call her?

Why did the Allegra couple seem unaware of his whereabouts, asking why he wasn't home as soon as they arrived?

Thinking about this, Bianca felt a sharp pain in her heart.

She immediately took out her phone and called Smith.

His phone was turned off.

This made her even more worried.

Meanwhile...

Smith was secretly traveling by boat to the island where his mother, Pippa, was imprisoned.

It took him two days and nights to understand the situation there.

He stormed in with his team to rescue her.

Gunfire erupted on the island.

He rushed into the basement alone and saw Pippa bound in chains.

At that moment, he felt like he was going insane.

He immediately ran over and shouted, "Mom, are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

Pippa slowly lifted her eyelids, touching his cold mask, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"It's my fault for dragging you into this. You need to leave. If they find out you're an imposter, you'll be killed. Go quickly."

"Mom, I'm taking you with me."

Pippa pushed him away. "I'm like a ticking time bomb for you. You could be exposed at any moment. Since you chose this path, you must walk it to the end. I just hope you and your loved ones are safe."

Hearing this, Smith's eyes welled up with tears. He quickly untied Pippa and said, "I won't leave you behind. Come with me."

He carried Pippa and headed out.

His assistant ran over to report, "We've taken care of everyone outside. Let's go."

They headed towards the island's edge.

They boarded a boat.

The boat quickly left the island.

Smith finally breathed a sigh of relief, placing Pippa on a seat and applying ointment to her wounds.

Seeing the scars on her body, Smith's eyes grew moist.

In a hoarse voice, he said, "Mom, I will avenge you."

Pippa gently stroked his head and smiled. "As long as you and Bianca are safe, my suffering doesn't matter. When we return, send me back home. I'll live in seclusion and never contact you again to protect your identity."

"Mom, don't worry. I have plans. I won't leave you behind."

Pippa had raised him alone through hardship. He wouldn't just pursue his own happiness and abandon her.

He would find a way to resolve this perfectly.

As they were talking, Pippa noticed the boatman reaching into his pocket.

His eyes had a sinister gleam.

Sensing danger, she shielded Smith with her body as the boatman raised his gun.

A gunshot rang out, and blood flowed from Pippa's back.

Smith immediately shot the boatman and then held Pippa.

His eyes were filled with panic. "Mom, are you okay? Please don't scare me."

Pippa's breath was weak, but she smiled. "This is better. I won't be a burden to you anymore. I can't take care of you anymore. I hope you live well."

After saying this, she touched Smith's hand and slowly let go.

Faced with this sudden change, Smith couldn't accept it.

He held Pippa's body, trembling all over.

His hatred reached its peak at that moment.

The raging waves couldn't drown out his cries of anguish.

It took him two days to deal with everything.

He sat alone in the villa, the ashtray filled with cigarette butts.

He had lost a lot of weight.

His eyes were sunken, and his cheeks looked more angular.

His assistant walked in with food and said, "You haven't eaten in days. Please eat something. Your mother wouldn't rest in peace knowing you're like this."

Smith's eyes were unfocused, his voice hoarse. "How are things at the palace?"

The assistant replied, "Eva tried to ruin your relationship with the queen but ended up being confined by her. The William Family is afraid the queen will continue investigating, so they offered her the jewelry company to stop her."

"She didn't continue investigating?"

"No, the queen accepted the company. But she called you that day. We were on the island, so there was no signal, and we missed it."

Hearing this, Smith's heart sank.

He didn't know why Bianca had called.

Was it to ask about the photos or to check on him?

He took his phone and stared at the missed call for a long time before gently pressing redial.

The phone rang a few times before it was answered.

Bianca's worried voice came through. "Smith, where are you? Are you okay?"
