Chapter 591 Wilhelmina Hosts a Banquet
The teacher smiled and said, "Oh, so you're Kaia's dad. No wonder your whole family is so good-looking."
Paxon grinned mischievously at Theodore and said, "Uncle, I didn't say it; the teacher did."
Theodore playfully tapped Paxon on the head and said, "Take Kaia inside quickly. Listen to the teacher and don't cause any trouble, okay?"
Paxon immediately grabbed Kaia's little hand and said, "Kaia, I'll protect you from now on. No one will dare to bully you."
With that, the two kids held hands and followed the teacher into the classroom.
Watching them walk away, Sebastian gave Theodore a meaningful look and then leaned in to whisper, "Did you sleep well last night?"
Theodore knew what Sebastian was implying and glared at him, saying, "Not as dirty-minded as you. I was just helping her get to the hospital."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow and said, "I just noticed you have dark circles under your eyes and was concerned. Didn't mean anything by it. Seems like you misunderstood."
Theodore pinched Sebastian's waist in frustration, "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll make sure Joyce divorces you."
Sebastian chuckled, "Do you think Joyce would listen to you? She's my wife and loves me more than you. Once you find a wife, you'll understand how great life can be."
Waving goodbye, he said, "I have to go now. Need to take Zaid and Ingrid for their shots."
Watching Sebastian's shameless departure, Theodore couldn't help but mutter, "Damn jerk."
Turning to Wilhelmina, he said, "Let's go, I'll take you home."
Wilhelmina shook her head, "No need. I'm going to resign from my job nearby. I'll be ready to start tomorrow morning."
Theodore frowned and asked, "Need any help?"
"No, I have leverage over Spencer. He won't dare mess with me."
"Alright, call me if you need anything."
Arriving at the office, Wilhelmina walked into Spencer's office.
She picked up a cup of coffee from the desk and splashed it in Spencer's face.
With a cold expression, she said, "Spencer, I didn't expect you to be so despicable. I was blind to trust you."
Spencer jumped up from his chair, screaming in pain.
Wiping his face with a napkin, he cursed, "You bitch, acting all pure when you got knocked up before marriage. Who are you trying to fool?"
He raised his hand to hit Wilhelmina, but she grabbed his wrist, her voice icy, "I closed the deal on the project. According to the contract, I should get a $200,000 commission. You treated me like a gift to another man, causing me great mental distress. I want $100,000 for emotional damages, plus my bonus and salary for the past few months. Transfer it all to my account.
Otherwise, I'll expose your dirty dealings tomorrow. You can bet on it if you don't believe me."
Spencer sneered, "Who do you think you are, threatening me? I'll make sure you can't find a job in this industry. Without a job, you can't support yourself or your child."
Hearing this, Wilhelmina slapped Spencer hard across the face.
She said fiercely, "Try insulting me again. I've already scheduled an email to be sent. If you don't comply, I'll make sure it goes out now. Let's see who disappears from the industry, you or me."
Spencer was terrified.
He had always thought Wilhelmina was a pushover, but she had secretly kept evidence against him.
He gritted his teeth, about to refuse, when his phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID, he quickly answered.
With a fawning smile, he said, "Mr. Vale, I'm sorry. It's my fault for disappointing you. I'll find someone better next time."
Theodore's cold voice came through, "Spencer, you know I don't play these games. Are you testing my limits?"
"Mr. Vale, I'm sorry. I was foolish. It won't happen again."
Spencer broke out in a cold sweat.
Theodore might seem gentle, but he could be terrifying when angry.
He had thought Wilhelmina, who had interned with Theodore and was attractive, wouldn't be rejected. But Theodore hadn't fallen for it.
Theodore said coldly, "You know if you cross me, I can make you disappear overnight."
Spencer fell to his knees, crying and begging, "Mr. Vale, I was wrong. It won't happen again. Please forgive me."
"Forgiving you isn't impossible. Wilhelmina's daughter is my nephew's classmate, and he likes her a lot. You understand what I mean, right?"
Spencer was completely stunned.
What a complicated relationship.
Theodore was causing trouble for him because of his nephew's classmate's mom.
He knew how much Theodore cared for his nephew.
Terrified, he said, "I understand, Mr. Vale. I'll agree to all of Wilhelmina's demands. Please rest assured."
Theodore sneered, "You know my nephew is not to be messed with. If he's unhappy, our whole family will be unhappy. Then it won't just be the Vale family dealing with you, but also the Winters family. You know the consequences."
Sebastian's son was well-known for being spoiled.
Spencer quickly agreed, "Don't worry, I'll make sure Wilhelmina leaves satisfied."
After hanging up, Spencer was furious but didn't dare upset Wilhelmina.
These days, even kindergarten connections were powerful.
Why didn't their college connections have this kind of bond?
Spencer gritted his teeth, picked up the phone, and instructed the finance department. Then he turned to Wilhelmina and said, "Your salary has been transferred. Check it."
Wilhelmina glanced at her phone and smiled, "Thank you, Mr. Hernandez. Here's my resignation letter. I'll destroy the evidence. We won't see each other again."
With that, she left the company.
She knew today's success was thanks to Theodore.
He had not only helped her escape danger last night but also secured her a stable job and ensured she got her rightful pay from Spencer. She couldn't owe him such a big favor.
No matter who Theodore was, to her, he was just her boss.
She had no reason to owe so many favors.
She took out her phone and sent Theodore a message: [Mr. Vale, thank you for your help. Please choose a time, and I'll treat you to dinner.]
