Chapter 609 Mr. Vale Gets Married
Hearing Wilhelmina's words, Theodore felt a mix of excitement and heartbreak.
He was thrilled that the girl he had been waiting for also liked him.
But his heart ached knowing that Wilhelmina had to hide her feelings and raise their daughter alone.
She had just graduated from college, landed a stable job, and escaped from her gambling father, Brian, when she found out she was pregnant.
If she didn't truly love him, how could she have given up such a promising future?
If she didn't truly love him, how could she have chosen to raise their child alone?
Thinking about this, Theodore's eyes grew misty.
He gently wiped the tears from Wilhelmina's face and said in a husky voice, "Wilhelmina, will you keep loving me for the rest of your life?"
Faced with his intense gaze and honest confession, Wilhelmina felt enveloped in happiness.
This happiness made her tears flow even more.
It was a feeling Wilhelmina hadn't experienced in years.
Since her mother passed away, she had been raising Kaia on her own.
She faced ridicule and insults from others and relentless pressure from Brian.
Wilhelmina had never felt any love.
Now, she heard Theodore, the man she liked, asking her to love him forever.
This sudden happiness left her at a loss.
With tear-filled eyes, she looked at Theodore and choked out, "Can I really?"
Seeing her cautious expression, Theodore kissed her forehead tenderly, "From now on, all you need to do is love me and our daughter. I'll take care of everything else."
"But our backgrounds are so different. I don't want to embarrass you in front of your family and friends. And my father is a gambling addict in prison."
Theodore lightly tapped her head, "It's the 21st century. I don't care about your family background. I've never thought that way. I don't need a powerful background to support me. If a man needs a marriage alliance to secure his career, he's a fool.
Luckily, your man isn't one. He'll build his career with his own abilities."
Wilhelmina was deeply moved by his words.
All her previous worries vanished in that moment.
She wiped her tears and said, "Don't worry, I won't hold you back. I'll work hard and be the best partner in your career."
Seeing her finally break free from her inner chains, Theodore smiled and kissed her lips.
"So, should we celebrate finding true love?"
As he spoke, his warm kisses landed on Wilhelmina's lips.
His deep, husky voice whispered in her ear.
"Wilhelmina, I've been looking for you for so long. Every night I dream of that night we spent together."
He kept whispering his longing in her ear, kissing her lips over and over.
The memories of that night flooded his mind.
Theodore held the girl in the dark room, taking her over and over.
He felt her softness, heard her cries.
But he couldn't stop himself.
These buried memories resurfaced.
Theodore felt a surge of desire, ready to explode.
He bit Wilhelmina's ear and whispered, "Wilhelmina, let's get married, okay?"
Just moments ago, she was basking in the happiness Theodore brought her. Now, he was asking her to marry him.
Wilhelmina's emotions froze.
Her eyes reddened as she looked at Theodore, her voice hoarse, "So soon? I'm not ready."
Theodore frowned, "What are you thinking? Do you want to leave me with our child?"
"No, it's just so sudden. I'm not prepared."
"You don't need to prepare. Just be my wife. Let's go now, before the city hall closes."
Without waiting for her response, he took her hand and led her out.
Theodore wasn't going to give the girl he finally found any chance to escape.
She might agree now, but who knows if she'll change her mind later.
Theodore couldn't give her any chance to regret.
Wilhelmina was half-pushed into the car.
The black Cullinan sped down the road.
They arrived at the city hall just before five.
The staff were already packing up.
Seeing them, the staff urged, "Are you here to get married? Hurry up and fill out the forms."
Theodore quickly led Wilhelmina over and filled out the forms.
They took their ID photos.
From entering to getting their marriage certificate, it took less than ten minutes.
Holding the certificate, Theodore's lips curved into a wide smile.
He took a photo of the certificate with his phone.
Then he sent it to the group chat.
[I'm married, and I found my daughter too. Becoming a dad overnight feels amazing.]
The message caused an instant uproar in the group.
Sebastian: [The big boss and his secretary, huh? Theodore, why are you copying me?]
Alexander: [Oh my God! Theodore, what happened? How did you suddenly get married, and to a woman with a child? Are you jealous of us being dads, so you found someone with a kid to marry?]
Tyler: [Bold guess: this secretary might be the girl Theodore's been waiting for. So romantic, like a runaway bride story. I love it.]
Alexander @ Theodore: [Tell us, what's the deal with you and this secretary? Is the child really yours?]
Theodore saw the lively discussion and sent over the paternity test results for him and Kaia.
[Meet my wife, Wilhelmina, and my daughter, Kaia.]
The group got even more excited.
Sebastian had just returned home and called out, "Joyce, are you here?"
Joyce, who had just put the kids to sleep, came downstairs.
She glared at him, "Why are you shouting? The kids just fell asleep."
Sebastian walked over and picked her up, spinning her around.
He laughed, "I have good news. Want to hear it?"
Joyce looked at him, puzzled, "What news has you so excited? Anyone would think you just had another baby."
Sebastian kissed her, "I'm not old. If I were, could I make you so excited last night?"
Joyce's cheeks turned red.
She glanced towards the kitchen and whispered, "Stop talking nonsense. The nanny is still here."
Sebastian pinched her flushed cheek, "Theodore has a daughter now, and she's a beautiful girl."
