Chapter 500 Alexander Visits the Set
Sophia is filming on set.
The afternoon sun made her throat dry, but to keep up with the schedule, she didn't dare to stop.
She was wearing heavy costumes and was drenched in sweat.
This scene had been shot several times, and finally, she heard the director say, "Cut, this scene is done."
Cheers erupted on set.
Betsy immediately ran over, concerned, "Sophia, quickly drink some water. This weather is unbearable, and the director keeps going on and on. This scene was shot over twenty times."
Sophia took several gulps of water and then said, "He's just being responsible. This is our studio's first film, and the quality has to be top-notch."
As they were talking, Sophia's phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID, she immediately answered.
A child's voice came from the other end, "Sophia, are you busy?"
All of Sophia's fatigue vanished, and she immediately smiled, "I'm filming. What's up, Paxon?"
"It's too hot, and I'm worried you're working too hard. I brought you a drink that I made myself."
Sophia's eyes widened, "Who did you come with? Your mom?"
"No, you'll see soon. Send me your location."
After hanging up, Sophia immediately sent Paxon her location.
She smiled beautifully, "Paxon said he's coming over. Go to the entrance to meet them."
Betsy looked at her with some concern, "Sophia, I haven't seen you smile like this in a long time. Ever since Mr. Cross lost his memory, you haven't smiled like this. It seems Paxon has quite the talent. I'll make sure he stays with you more often."
Half an hour later, Sophia took a lunch break.
To avoid the hassle of changing clothes, she didn't take off her costume and kept it on.
She was sitting in a chair reading the script when a child's voice suddenly called out, "Sophia."
Hearing the voice, Sophia immediately looked over.
She saw Paxon grinning and running towards her with his short legs.
Sophia immediately went to him, bent down, picked him up, and kissed his cheek, "Sweetie, I missed you so much. Who did you come with?"
Paxon pointed towards the entrance, "With Mr. Cross. My parents were too busy to come with me, so I called him."
Sophia looked up and saw Alexander's stern face.
He was carrying a bag and walking towards her with his long legs.
Alexander's face remained expressionless as he handed the bag to Sophia.
His voice was low and hoarse, "This is the iced lemon water Paxon made for you to cool off."
Sophia looked at Paxon in surprise, "You made this yourself?"
Paxon's bright eyes glanced at Alexander, then nodded, "Yes, the housekeeper helped me."
"You're amazing, making lemon water for me. Let me give you another kiss."
The two hugged and kissed for a long time, completely ignoring Alexander nearby.
Alexander's fingers lightly curled, and he said in a deep voice, "Paxon, if you don't drink the lemon water soon, it won't be cold anymore."
Paxon remembered what Alexander had told him in the car.
He immediately got down from Sophia and said, "Sophia, quickly drink some lemon water. I'll let her take me for a walk."
He took Betsy's hand and walked into the film set.
Sophia quickly reminded, "Betsy, make sure to watch him. If he gets hurt, our entire crew can't afford it."
Betsy smiled and replied, "Don't worry, I will."
After they left, Sophia opened the thermos cup, but she couldn't open it after trying for a while.
Alexander immediately took it from her, opened it, and poured her a cup, saying in a deep voice, "Drink."
Sophia was about to drink when a male voice suddenly came from behind.
"Sophia, the next scene involves rain. You still have an injury on your leg. Shouldn't you tell the director to postpone it for a few days?"
"No need, my injury is healed. It's fine."
Edgar walked up to Sophia, concerned, "I saw Betsy applying medicine to you yesterday. How can it be healed today? Don't you know that soaking the wound in water can cause an infection?"
Sophia smiled indifferently, "It's fine. I'm in good health. This is Anna's last scene, and she has other work. I can't delay her."
Hearing this, Edgar shook his head helplessly, "I'll find something to wrap your wound later. Anna is known for being strict. Who knows how many times we'll have to shoot this scene."
"Okay, do you want some lemon water? Paxon brought it for me."
Edgar raised an eyebrow, "Paxon brought it? Then I have to try it."
Sophia took out another cup and was about to pour some for Edgar.
Alexander's hand pressed down on hers.
Above her head, Alexander's cold voice said, "Don't let him drink it."
Sophia raised an eyebrow at him, "You didn't make it. Aren't you being a bit too controlling?"
Alexander gritted his teeth, "No, he can't."
Seeing Alexander's angry expression, Edgar smiled knowingly.
He took the cup from Sophia and said, "No need to trouble yourself. I'll drink from your cup."
With that, Edgar drank the lemon water under Alexander's watchful eyes.
Alexander felt a surge of anger.
He didn't remember Edgar.
He just thought this person looked refined and handsome.
And seemed to care a lot about Sophia.
Alexander gritted his teeth, took the cup from Edgar, and threw it away.
Then he got a new cup for Sophia and poured her some more.
Sophia glanced at him, thinking Alexander was being a bit unreasonable.
But she didn't dwell on it and sat down to rehearse with Edgar.
Soon, the lunch break was over.
The first scene in the afternoon was Sophia being punished, kneeling in the rain.
All the actors were in place, and the director shouted, "Action."
Rain poured down, drenching Sophia instantly.
Paxon saw this and his eyes turned red with worry.
He looked up at Alexander and said, "Mr. Cross, won't Sophia catch a cold? I'm so worried about her."
Alexander bent down and held Paxon tightly in his arms.
He didn't know why he was so nervous.
He watched Sophia cry and plead in the rain, watched other actors hit and kick her.
Even though he knew it was just acting, his heart still ached.
He seemed very worried about Sophia, worried she would get hurt, worried about her suffering.
As Edgar predicted, this was Anna's last scene.
Anna, being an experienced actress, was very strict with every look and action.
In the end, Sophia shot this scene 27 times and knelt in the rain for four hours.
It wasn't until the director shouted "Cut" that Alexander's tense heart finally relaxed.
He immediately grabbed a blanket from Betsy and rushed to Sophia.
He wrapped the blanket around Sophia and picked her up, his voice filled with undisguised concern.
"Sophia, are you okay?"
