Chapter 507 Brother, Save Me
Even though it was just a game character, Sophia was still stunned by the scene.
Her hands froze in place.
Sophia couldn't tell if Alexander's actions were instinctive or intentional.
As she stood there in a daze, Alexander's voice sounded in her ear again, "Are you scared? Let me hold you."
The brother in the game tightly embraced the girl, his large hand gently stroking her head.
His voice was tender, "Don't be afraid, I'll protect you."
Sophia felt like her head was about to explode.
She seriously suspected that Alexander was taking advantage of her.
Sophia pushed Alexander away and said firmly, "I'm fine now."
Then she continued walking forward.
Throughout the game, Alexander kept protecting her, always referring to himself as 'brother.'
This made Sophia immerse herself in the game, and when she encountered danger, she couldn't help but shout, "Brother, help me."
Upon hearing her call, Alexander immediately rushed to her side.
He fought off the monsters around her and bent down to carry her on his back.
Elodie couldn't help but feel ecstatic watching this scene.
She kept leading Sophia into groups of monsters, forcing Alexander to come to their rescue.
She held all the weapons herself, making Sophia a helpless weakling.
Only then did Alexander's rescue seem so natural.
Finally, the three siblings successfully found the place where their parents were held, and the game played celebratory sounds.
Elodie was the first to jump up, hugging Sophia, "Sophia, we won! We won!"
Sophia joined in the celebration, but she didn't notice the large hand that had appeared behind her.
It pulled both of them into a tight embrace.
Alexander's voice was filled with laughter, "Shouldn't you thank your brother for winning?"
Elodie was the first to speak, "Brother, you were amazing! It was your first time playing, and you did so well. I love you!"
Alexander laughed and ruffled her hair, "Yes, brother loves you too."
Then he turned his gaze to Sophia and said in a deep voice, "I helped you the most. Don't you have anything to say to me?"
His tone was suggestive, completely different from how he spoke to Elodie.
Sophia's cheeks instantly felt hot.
She glared at Alexander, "Don't even think about taking advantage of me!"
Alexander tapped her head, "Ungrateful. When you were in danger, you were calling 'brother, brother' so sweetly. Now that it's over, you forget about me?"
"That was in the game. This is reality. Don't try to fool me."
With that, Sophia pushed Alexander away and headed to the kitchen.
Alexander watched her retreating figure with a smug smile.
Elodie looked up at him and laughed, "Alexander, I helped you a lot just now. If I hadn't led Sophia into trouble, you wouldn't have had so many chances to save her."
Alexander laughed and ruffled her hair, "I know. I'll buy you some treats later."
After dinner, Elodie insisted on taking Sophia outside to fly kites.
It was a cloudy day with a gentle breeze.
The kite quickly soared into the sky.
Sophia sat on the swing, watching Elodie laugh freely on the grass.
She felt like she was seeing her own youth.
Eighteen, such a beautiful age.
Back in college, Sophia lived carefree as the little princess of the Sinclair family.
But everything changed when Dean proposed to her.
If it weren't for that engagement, she might not have run away from home.
She wouldn't have achieved what she has now.
She might have been pampered by her parents as their little princess for her whole life.
She wouldn't have met Joyce, her good friend, or known so many amazing people.
Thinking about all this, a smile appeared on Sophia's lips.
Life is meant to be lived.
Only through one's own efforts does life feel rich and meaningful.
As she was lost in her memories, Elodie suddenly shouted, "Sophia, my kite flew away! It landed in the neighbor's yard. Come with me to find it."
Sophia calmly got off the swing and walked to Elodie's side. "Go call Alexander."
"Why call him? Does he know the neighbors?"
"That's his house."
Hearing this, Elodie immediately gossiped, "Sophia, did Alexander buy the house next to yours to chase after you?"
"I don't know. Maybe he's just crazy."
Elodie laughed mischievously, "I'll go call him."
She skipped into the living room.
Alexander was playing chess with two elderly people. Seeing Elodie run in, he reminded her, "Don't play too wildly. Your body can't handle it."
Elodie grabbed his arm, "Alexander, my kite landed next door. Sophia said that's your house. Come with me to get it."
She dragged Alexander outside.
Alexander had no memory of this house. He looked at Sophia in surprise, "Is this really my house?"
Sophia replied coolly, "Why don't you go see for yourself?"
"You have to come with me. What if you trick me and I get beaten up?"
With that, he took Sophia's hand and walked towards the gate.
The three of them arrived at the neighbor's door. Alexander tried to unlock it with his birthday, but it failed.
He tried two other numbers, but they also failed.
If he tried again, the lock would trigger an alarm.
As Alexander pondered the password, Elodie suddenly asked, "Sophia, what's your birthday?"
Sophia didn't think much and blurted it out.
Elodie immediately entered the birthday as the password, and the lock opened.
Elodie glanced at Alexander, "Silly brother, you used Sophia's birthday and forgot. Do you also have a bank card with her birthday? Should I help you unlock it?"
Seeing this, Alexander felt a surge of unknown emotions.
He had bought this villa before losing his memory, right next to Sophia's house.
Could there be clues about their past here?
Thinking about this, Alexander's heart started racing.
He wanted to know what had happened between him and Sophia.
The door opened, and Elodie ran straight to the kite.
Sophia wanted to turn and leave, but Alexander grabbed her wrist.
Alexander smiled at her, "Since it's my house, come in and sit."
Sophia wanted to refuse, but Alexander had already half-pushed, half-pulled her inside.
This was Sophia's first time here.
The yard looked similar to her own.
But there were two cherry trees, her favorite.
She could tell they were newly planted.
Sophia didn't think much of it, assuming it was a coincidence.
Alexander led her into the hall.
As soon as the door opened, Sophia's eyes widened in shock.
