I pulled up into our pack and stormed off into the Alpha’s study.
“I would love to speak to the Alpha please,” I said to one of the warriors standing right outside the Alpha’s door.
“You can't see him right now, he's in a meeting,” he said, not meeting my eyes.
“Step aside!” I said to him coldly, “We don't want this getting ugly now do we?” I threatened but he only flinched.
I lunged at him and within seconds, he was passed out on the floor. I made for the door but as soon as my hand reached the knob, the door was thrown open and Beta Jack was standing right there with a grim look.
As the door closed with a faint creek, I could make out the figure of our Alpha, talking in a hushed tone with several other men.
“Well, if it ain't our best warrior,” he said, bowing mockingly to me, “situation report?” he asked, ignoring the warrior that was laying on the ground.
“I have to talk to the Alpha,” I said with a determined look in my eyes. I could not just believe that our Alpha would order me to do such. I need to know the reason for this. I have so much respect and trust in our Alpha but this mission? It's absurd!
“I said give me the situation report!” he growled irritably at me.
I lowered my gaze before voicing the words I rehearsed over and over again on my way back.
“I dealt with it. I made sure not to leave any traces behind. Literally,” I replied firmly. He nodded with keen eyes planted on mine as I filled him in on the details with the deal Alpha Williams is working on. “Now about the Alpha…”
“Direct your questions to me,” he said sternly, cutting me off, “You don't have any business with the Alpha until your mission is over.”
If eyes could kill, he would be dead by now, I thought as I glared at him. “Lower your eyes,” he growled and I just had to obey. My wolf whimpered, causing me to remember the bottle.
“Does the masking spray affect my wolf in any way?” I asked him in a tone laced with concern and worry.
“No it doesn't,” he replied hastily, “And we have a plan to get you back to the Stone heart pack. Care for a few punches?” he said with a satisfied smirk.
Asshole.
I just stood there as one of our pack warriors punched me over and over again. They are trying to ruffle me up to appear like I was really kidnapped. My dress was already torn at several places at this point.
I winced as he landed a blow across my cheek. Bastard, I thought as I met his eyes squarely. He eagerly threw another punch like he has been praying for a day like this to hit the matchless Cleopatra.
I seized him by his clenched fist and thrust him to the ground. “Enough,” I warned coldly.
My eyes met those of Beta Jack’s and he looked pleased with the damage.
“Bring in the rogues,” he ordered one of our men.

Williams POV
“Make sure you search everywhere, leave no stone unturned and bring her back before dusk!” I commanded my men.
I was biding my lawyer farewell when one of the maids rushed to me. She said Cleopatra had been abducted. The minutes that went by as I ran into her room like a crazy man was like an eternity. The overturned bed and vanity was evidence that she tried to fight them off.
Who could it be? A tremor ran down my spine as I remembered her words during the time the rogues attacked.
What if they got her? What if Dylan kidnapped her as he was leaving today? And how did all these get past my men? Anger gushed through me. Not only about the kidnapping but the idea that there could be an insider working for whoever it was and the fact that they got past my hard trained men!
“Renee!”
“Yes Alpha,” she answered almost immediately. “Gather as many men as you need and go after the Alphas that have already left. Make sure you search thoroughly and bring her back.” I ordered her hastily and walked off into my study.
Someone dared to kidnap my visitor?
Hours went by and I became restless. I got up from my desk as I dialed Renee's number. It took her ages to pick up.
“Go ahead,” I said, trying to sound relaxed.
“We managed to catch up with the trope that left this evening and she sure wasn't with any of them,” she replied.
“Did you check thoroughly? What of Dylan?” I asked, still trying not to explode with anger. “She wasn't there either.”
I flipped.
What if she winds up dead? Her pack could accuse me of brutally murdering her. Like I don't have enough bad tags to my name already.
Few minutes later I stormed off with two of my men. We didn't make it far from my pack territory when I saw her fighting off ferocious looking rogues alone. I charged towards them and within seconds I was in front of her, she looked a mess.
There were about six of them but they were no match for me let alone when I had one of my men with me. Within seconds, we tore them down, their remains lay scattered all over the ground, it was a sore sight.
Almost immediately, Cleopatra fell to the ground and I reached for her, carrying her up as I made for the pack house. Pity was all I felt as I looked down on her swollen face. She's a lady after all, I thought.
I placed her on her bed and called out for one of the maids to clean her up. “Call the doctor, tell him it's urgent,” I said impatiently.
Something seems off. My wolf felt it as well as I could feel him trying to claw his way out. What is this scent? It's mesmerizing. I looked around, trying to figure out where it's coming from.
It seems to be coming from... Cleopatra?
“Alpha you should leave so I can undress and clean her up,” the maid said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I nodded, evidently distracted and walked out of the door.
I was still caught up in thoughts and didn't notice when Renee entered my office.
“Alpha I heard you found her,” she said, pausing briefly for me to respond.
“Yes, she was fighting off rogues, close to the watchtower,” I replied with a distant gaze.
“But how did the rogues get past us when we were camped out at the oak? And how didn't we detect them if they were this close to the pack?” she asked suspiciously.
She was right. Something is definitely off… Could it be?
