“He seduced me”

Cleopatra's POV

Last night was a mistake.

I know my mission is to seduce Alpha Willaims but if I'm being honest with myself, he seduced me last night and I hate myself for it.

Why am I getting terrible at controlling myself around him? Why does all my senses come alive when he's close?

No! Cleopatra. Willaims is the enemy. He's a tyrant who kills anyone that crosses his path. He steals people's mates and conquers packs for his selfish interest.

I stopped for a while when a thought crossed my mind. Why haven't I noticed all these things I was told about him since coming here?

I quickly pushed it aside. Maybe I've gotten so carried away with pleasing him in bed that I've forgotten to take note of some important details.

If I can't find any reason to hate him, the fact that he killed my sweet luna drew me back to reality. I have to complete this mission at all costs.

My stomach grumbled and I left the room in search of food. My body ached because of the…things we did last night. Just thinking about last night caused my cheeks to flush bright red and my nipples hard.

What is wrong with me?

I entered the kitchen but it was empty. There were pots on the counter but they were all empty.

“Where is all the food?” I muttered to myself.

“Everyone is in the dining hall,” a little voice said.
I whipped my head around to where the voice came from and saw a little girl of about 10?

I haven't seen her before.

“Hey, what's your name?” I asked, lowering myself to her level.

“Holly,” she whispered shyly.

“Hi Holly, I'm Cleopatra but you can call me Cleo,” I said to her and brought out my hand to shake hers. She took it hesitantly and giggled.

“Why are you not in the dining room? You don't want to have lunch?” I asked her.

She wiggled her nose and got up. “I'm not hungry. Mama gave me something to eat earlier,” she replied lightly.

I don't know why, but I love kids. Something about them makes me feel so warm inside.

“What's your mama's name?” I asked, getting up as well.

“Her name is Gina and she's the best mom in the whole wide world,” she said excitedly with a giggle and then her face turned sad.

“What's wrong?” I asked.

“Mama is not happy because…because… my brother is missing,” she stammered in a voice that broke my heart.

“Hey, can I tell you a secret?” I said, trying to get her to cheer up and she looked at me in anticipation, “I'm a really good fighter. The very best and I promise to find your brother, OK?”

She looked at me and narrowed her eyes. I blurted out laughing, clutching my stomach because of the look on her face.

She giggled and looked up at me, a silent plea in her eyes. “I know you're strong. Please find my brother,” she whispered in a voice that is barely audible.

I nodded. “Pinky promise?” She asked, raising her pinky finger and I laced mine with hers.

She giggled excitedly and turned to run out of the kitchen.

“Wait,” I called out to her and she stopped, “how are you so sure that I'm strong?” I asked curiously.

She pointed behind me and replied amidst giggling “The lady with the green eyes just told me,” then she ran out of the kitchen.

The lady with the green eyes? I thought and quickly turned around but there was no one behind me. Is she hallucinating like me?

I pushed the thought to the back of my mind and made my way to the dinning hall. It was full when I got there, like there was a special feast or celebration.

I noticed Alpha Williams staring at me but avoided his eyes. I knew it would be a wrong move to sit next to him. I don't trust myself to resist his touches anymore.

I concentrated on stuffing food into my mouth, pushing every other distraction aside. But as I looked up, Alpha Williams was not in the hall anymore.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Renee get up and quietly leave the dining room. What are they up to now?

“I don't want to leave my food,” I groaned. But I had to get as much information as I could from them. I had to make up for killing our allies.

Good thing My Alpha hasn't found out that I was responsible for killing half of the rogues he sent here. I shivered at the thoughts of him confronting me because of it.

I sneaked out, careful not to be spotted by anyone. I quietly followed Renee, putting a reasonable distance between us. She walked into the infirmary and I hid by a corner, waiting for something, anything to happen. But nothing did.

Just as I was about to get up and go closer to the infirmary, I noticed the figure of a man, leaning towards the door and attempting to open it but turned to run away as soon his hands touched the door knob.

He was the one posing to be a vampire? I heard it all.
Alpha Williams’ plans to use the spy against my Alpha. The other spies in the pack, wait, did he say Gina? As in Holly's mother?

I remembered my little chat with her and how she mentioned her brother. Does my Alpha kidnap the pack members' loved ones to make spies for himself within the Stone Heart Pack?

I thought this mission is just one that doesn't involve interfering in the lives of innocent people. So why is Alpha Kane resorting to this?

I hid quietly, watching and listening. My eyes were fixed on Renee the whole time. I know she has feelings for Alpha Willaims. That's the major reason she wants me gone.

Too bad I'm not leaving until Willaims is dead.

I followed her gaze as it wandered to the forest beyond the territory and I saw the eerie red glowing eyes, staring directly into the Stone Heart Pack.

I've seen those eyes before. But where?

I facepalmed myself when it clicked. The night wolf Alpha!

But Alpha Kane told me they are all dead, so who the fuck was that and why does it seem so familiar?

I waited for them all to leave before I could come out of the hiding spot. Just as the door to the pack house closed behind Renee, I thought of coming out but decided to wait a little just in case they turned back for something.

“You can come out now, they are gone,” a voice rang out close to me, breaking the silence.

Fuck. How did she know that I was here?
