The confrontation
I got up as soon as those words left his mouth. “What?” I asked.
“I don't want you close to my pack by dinner time,” he replied, not meeting my eyes and walking into the bathroom.
I just stood there, all sweaty and my dress rumpled. No no no. I can't go back like this! For Christ sake think Cleo. I raked my hand through my disheveled hair and bit down on my lips.
This is all Alpha Dylan’s fault.
I hurriedly left the room and banged the door on my way out. As soon as I got into the room assigned to me, Beta Jack was already there, pacing up and down.
I staggered as his hand collided with my cheeks.
“Can you tell me why there is a rumor that you slept with Alpha Dylan?” he asked furiously.
“It was all a misunderstanding Beta Jack, he came to see me this morning and…”
“Make sure you get the book and send it over to me by nightfall,” he said, cutting me off and taking a step to storm off.
“I Can't.”
“Alpha Williams asked me to leave before dinner,” I said, the words stumbling out of my mouth with much difficulty. “Even if I find a way to stay back, I can't assure you of getting the book today.”
“What did you just say? We made things easy for you and handed you the mission on a platter of gold but.. What did you just say?” Beta Jack was beyond furious.
“I'll fix this, I promise.”
He gave me one last look and stormed off.
Could today get any worse?
I made for the bath tube and submerged myself in the water. Seconds turned to minutes and before I knew it, it was already an hour gone. What should I do? Just then it hit me. He's an Alpha, and he gave me his word. With a smile, I made it out of the bathroom, humming sweetly.
He can't get rid of me that easily, I thought as I slipped on a very revealing dress, after all, my job is to seduce him.
I went downstairs and into the dinning room. Some pack members were still here. I ignored the stares and gasps as I walked in, my head held up high as always.
“Miss Cleopatra?”
That weasel! I know that voice.
“Come, sit with me,” Alpha Dylan called out, like we are lovers.
I gave him a death glare, ignoring him and taking a seat at the end of the table.
“Oooh, I love pasta!” I said out loud, as I saw what I was served. Just then, Alpha Williams walked in with his Beta. He looked straight at me and growled, his Jaws clenched.
“What are you still doing here?” he demanded, shortly after taking a seat next to me. “I thought I was clear when I said you should leave and from what I gathered, your pack already left,” he said coldly, through gritted teeth.
I cleared my throat before dropping the bomb. “You gave me your word Alpha, that I could stay as Long as I wish to and I plan on doing just that,” I said defiantly, a little smile escaping my lips when I saw his eyes widen.
“Your majesty, you're feasting with us today,” one of the Alphas declared a little hint of mock in his voice.
Alpha Williams threw a death stare his way and ignored him. He pulled my chair closer to his, forcefully.
The silence in the room was deafening, all eyes were on us.
“You think you are smart, little raven, but I'll soon make you regret what you just said,” he whispered only to my ears and continued his meal.
Did his threat just turn me on?
I gently composed myself, sliding my hand under the table and onto his laps. I looked up into his eyes as he tried to maintain composure.
That was satisfying, I thought to myself as I reached for his belt, guiding my fingers slowly to caress his length. He coughed out to hide the ‘discomfort’ I was causing him which only made me caress harder.
“Miss Cleopatra?” I heard someone call out my name, breaking the moment. I tried to pull out my hand, but he pulled it back discreetly with his other hand.
I got him just where I wanted.
“Who is looking for me?” I answered with a satisfied smile.
“Someone has a message from your Alpha to you, he's waiting right outside.”
I turned to the Alpha and leaned in closer to him, my breast pressing his shoulders temptatively. I could feel the stares of his Beta Burning holes into my head and the deep growls from Alpha Dylan, which made this more exciting for me.
“Keep the thoughts you have right now going, I'll be in your quarters tonight,” I whispered, biting down on my lips and slowly pulling my hands off his pants. He moaned softly, eyes closed, his breath ragged.
I pulled away from the dinning and followed the person who came to call me.
When we got to the courtyard, he gestured to the left and that was when I saw Matt, one of our warriors.
With a nod, he approached me and whispered into my ears before handing over a bottle to me. I complained to Beta Jack earlier that the spray I was given to mask my scent was almost out.
For some reason, I always sense my wolf whimpering anytime I put it on. The effects always last up to a week, then, I'll have to spray another. I was told it was harmless, but could it be hurting my wolf?
“How are you holding up?” he asked. I understood the question. It was more of keeping tabs than actually being concerned about me.
I smiled knowingly at him, “Tell Beta Jack that the situation is already under control, he doesn't have to worry about anything.”
He nodded and started walking away towards the gate. I watched him leave before retreating. Just as I was about to enter the main building, Beta Renee blocked my path.
Should I just kill her? She's literally getting on my last nerves and I might just end up snapping her neck.
“Well, well, well, who do we have here? What does little Miss Bodacious have up her sleeves?” She asked, scanning me suspiciously.
I ignored her and pushed past her. She grabbed my arms and yanked me to face her aggressively.
“What's in the bottle princess?” she yelled, trying to snatch the bottle but I quickly hid it under my dress.
I easily got my arms free from her grasps and stared into her fierce eyes.
“Hold me back one more time, and I'll make you regret waking up today,” I retorted coldly.
Is this a staring contest? I thought as we both stood our grounds, glaring at each other with so much unspoken hatred.
“What is going on here?” Alpha William's voice rang out, shattering the ice.
