Kane's Obsession
Kane's POV
I was both frightened and excited at how powerful Cleopatra's wolves are. She could resist my Alpha voice?
The awakening might happen sooner than I wanted. I need to tame her. It can only happen when I want it to and that time is not now. Her awakening must happen when I'm ready to defeat Williams Deluca.
She's still weak seeing how she fainted. I guess the potion I've been giving her is still potent, if that wasn't the case, she would have torn me to bits right where I stood.
I'm prepared to keep her in the dark about her identity and what she's capable of, until I've tamed her to only obey my voice.
I bent close, examining her features. Beautiful and tempting with a remarkable body. I groaned thinking about how it would feel with my dick buried deep inside her.
I'll have her all to myself when I'm done with Williams and I can't wait to do so many pleasurable things to her.
Instinctively, I reached for her lips, my hands caressing it gently. I wanted to plant my lips on hers so badly that I could feel my erection hardening.
Just then, a silent knock came, followed by Beta Jack's voice. “Can I come in?” he asked and opened the door before I could permit him to. He saw me leaning over Cleopatra who was passed out on the floor.
What would be going on in that head of his?
“Is everything alright, Alpha?” he asked, looking at Cleopatra with concern etched in his gaze.
I cleared my throat and got up. “Take her up to my private quarters,” I ordered.
He hesitated and stood protectively over her. Kind hearted Jack. I could arrange an accident that could kill him or cripple him so he will be out of my way for good.
“What happened to her?” He asked curiously, his eyes still glued to Cleopatra.
“She..um had a bit of an episode and fainted,” I replied.
“Why did you want to see me?” I asked, trying to get him off the subject of Cleopatra or why I want her in my private house.
He seemed to be a bit distracted while answering my question. “The…the guest you've been expecting is here now and he wants to speak with you.”
“Take Cleopatra to my private quarters and tell him to come in. I will have a meeting with him here,” I replied dismissively.
He picked Cleopatra up gently and left my office.
“Alpha Kane Black. If it wasn't for the pact we made years ago, I would have thought you discarded me,” Simone drawled, clapping his hands together like a maniac.
Simone was one of those dirty people you keep for your dirty businesses. We go a long way, right from when he helped me kill my father, my mate and Willaims mate.
He is one of the few remnants of the deadly Slum Wolves, identified by the tattoo on their arms. They just have one purpose. To kill.
Who could have thought I would come across one and turn him to my ally. It only cost me a little sacrifice. Just a little.
We've not been in touch for the longest time but I reached out so he could spy on Cleopatra and discover what takes up her time in the city. That was how I got to know about Alex.
What was she thinking? That I wouldn't find out about her stupid little human friend?
I sighed and looked up at him. “Aha! My good brother Simone,” I retorted, with a fake outburst, “when was the last time I saw this spectacular face of yours?”
“Drop the act, Kane,” he said and rolled his eyes. “We both know you don't mean any of that. So after all these times, you remembered me? You know what? I was shocked when you call..,”
“Can we get down to business?” I asked, cutting him off. His endless chattering pisses me off all the time.
He cleared his throat and his expression turned serious.
“Where did you keep him?” I asked, referring to Alex.
“He's in a safe place… for now,” he replied with a sneaky smile on his lips.
“I ordered you to kill him and bring his body here!” I barked angrily.
“I need a green card, Alpha Kane. Just in case you decide to discard me? I have something against you, something you don't want your pretty little weapon to find out about. If you decide to cut me off? You don't want to know what will happen next, now do you Alpha,” he growled, his fists clenched on his sides.
This wasn't how I wanted this to go.
“This wasn't the agreement we had, Simone,” I replied, standing squarely and keeping my eyes on me. It was like a battle of stares going on between us.
“I know you more than anyone, did you really think I would get rid of an opportunity to have at least an upper hand?” He whispered while chuckling lightly.
Why didn't I have my personally trained men do this? But Cleopatra would have noticed. She would have caught whimp of their scents. But I could have given them something to mask it. I really did not think this through.
“Fine,” I said, with a retired tone, “Keep him for as long as you think is right but I want him dead, even if it's hypothetically,” I said and he looked at me surprised.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
“I want a body that matches his to be shown to Cleopatra and I want his death to be traced to Williams so that her hatred for him will be reignited. I think she's getting soft on him,” I explained.
The plan is already set. One of the prisoners will have to die instead of Alex.
Simone smiled and whispered a silent ohh.
“Did you bring it?” I asked and he nodded.
I have been sedating Cleopatra's wolves, crippling them so they won't awaken until my plan to destroy Alpha Willaims is in motion. She will not remember challenging me or the feelings and the darkness within her. Call it the default setting if you want.
We walked into my private residence where I had Beta Jack drop her.
“What if she finds out that you've been sedating her all these years? Do you think she will forgive you? Kane, Cleopatra has the two most powerful wolves inside her and..,”
“I'll take care of that and besides, it won't happen,” I replied with a determined look.
“Doesn't she need to know about her wolves?” He asked, getting me irritated.
“She doesn't need to find out. Now just get it done while..,” I saw her stir and open her eyes. “Do it now!” I barked into Simone's ears and he did.
I heard a shocked gasp and hurried footsteps right outside the room door but didn't see anyone when I looked. What if this ruins my big plans?
A cold uneasiness settled in my stomach. Who could that be and how much did they hear?
