The enemy's Embrace
Cleopatra's POV
My ears rang, like a bomb just went off in it.
“What?!!” I shrieked. I was caught up in a frenzy, looking for an excuse to give so I can go out and call Beta Jack to abort the mission.
Alpha Williams will find out about me if Renee sees my beta at the location.
How do I get out of this mess? I wondered. Just then, Theo uttered those insane words. I'm guessing he has his hands stuck up in his ass because there is no way my Alpha would have agreed to this charade.
This should be one of his dumb plans.
I mean, I wouldn't entirely mind though. Call me crazy but there is something about Alpha Williams that I find comforting. Not to mention what his fingers did to me earlier.
How does he have that much control over me? Was it his Alpha voice he used on me or my body acting faster than my brain? For some reason, I'm pretty sure it was the latter.
Just then, Theo bursted out into a hearty laughter, devoid of any actual. Emotions.
Alpha Williams and I both shared a look before turning to look at the madman laughing.
“You should have seen your faces. I was just joking” he said amidst laughter. I'm guessing someone would snap his neck faster before I do. The cold growl that Alpha Williams gave out confirmed my thoughts.
He matched towards Theo, kicking down chairs on his path. Within seconds, he had Theo pinned to the wall, his hands gripping Theo’s neck.
Theo was struggling to let loose, kicking his feet desperately. His face turned red within seconds. Alpha Williams was choking him.
Should I be worried? I mean, I wanted him out of the way but still, would it be suspicious if I didn't?
Damn my Alpha’s orders!!
I ran up to them, and pried Alpha Williams's hands off him successfully. “Remember he was sent by the council, Alpha Williams, you don't want this man's blood on you now, do you?” I tried to reason with him.
“Get him out of my sight this instant,” he ordered. Theo scrambled to his feet, running out of the room and I followed suit.
“Cleopatra?” he called and I paused on my tracks, my back to him.
“Never mind, we will talk later.”
I nodded and left the room quietly, trying to catch up with Theo.
“What was that all about?!!” I yelled at Theo when we were alone in the room that was assigned to him, “Do you even think things through before blurting out nonsense?”
“We both know you're warming his bed, what's the problem in joking about it a little?” he retorted teasingly.
I couldn't stop myself. I slapped him hard. I felt a little sting on my hand at the impact. Imagine how he would feel.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!!” Theo screamed, clutching his cheeks.
“No! You don't get to ask me that. What the fuck is wrong with you Theo,” I retorted, “Don't you ever try this stupid drama again. And just so you know, all eyes and ears are open around the pack house so we can't go on your scavenger hunt tonight Mr tunnel raider,” I growled and left the room angrily.
He ruined dinner for me!! I don't even have an appetite to eat anymore. I fumbled for my phone as soon as I got into my room and dialed Beta Jack. I filled him in on the updates and hung up with a frustrated sigh.
That was so close.
I decided to retire early to bed. There was not much to do anyway, I slipped out of the dress and walked into the bathroom. I let the cold water fall over my body, the memories of Alpha Williams's touch making me ache in different places.
Soon enough I got out of the bathroom, dried my body and went under the covers, naked.
The soft feel of the bed against my skin made me fall asleep as soon as I settled in.
Did I lock the door? I wondered to myself but pushed the thought away because I was bent on not getting out of this bed for anything.
Not tonight at least.
I didn't hear the soft tap on the door or when the door creaked as it opened.
I felt a body, hot and naked next to mine under the covers and was alarmed.
Who dared to climb into my bed? God knows I would kill Theo if it was him. Damn the consequences.
With calculated moves, I turned sharply, the dagger I always kept close pressed against the neck of the intruder.
“You think I didn't sense when you woke up?” Alpha Williams drawled in a sleepy voice and I breathed out a sigh of relief.
“I thought you were Theo, would have snapped his neck without thinking twice,” I hissed, letting the dagged fall to the ground and settling in properly.
“Don't ever mention his name to me if it wasn't entirely necessary,” he said in a way that made me feel like he was marking his territory.
Alpha Williams pressed closer to me, his naked body, hot and smooth on mine. It felt… Good.
He didn't do anything. We just lay cuddled to each other. His breath was hot and calm on my neck, his hand draped over my waist, pulling me in closer like I wasn't close enough.
I snuggled closer to the warmth of his body and within minutes, I slept back. The feeling of him being just this close gave me a kind of peace I've never had and for once in my troubled existence, it felt as if my life was ordinary or at least, normal.
I wish tomorrow never comes. In fact I wish the night never had to end. But it did, in a way that made my insides churn.
