Deadly obsession

Dylan’s POV

It's funny how Kane thinks he's playing me but it's the other way around. I'm very aware that he has been using me and I'm very sure he will not keep to his end of the bargain.

I've been playing along to his sick childish games for the longest time and I'm getting bored of the repeated circle.

It's time I step into the spotlight and claim what's rightfully mine. Cleopatra.
From the moment I set my eyes on her at the Stone Heart Pack up till now, I can't get my mind off her.

It has slowly turned into a deadly obsession. I would do anything, even if it was selling my soul to the devil as long as he would let me burn in hell with Cleopatra by my side.

I've been out of the picture for a while now, silently observing everything that has been going on. I knew Kane had been cooking up his grand plan to infiltrate Williams’ pack.

I'll be right here to observe their downfall while I take over with Cleopatra by my side. So for me, it's all about Cleopatra and I will have her at all cost.

I needed to come out of this unscathed that is why I came to him with the information. He likes feeling like a god, so I'll gladly pump his ego until he bursts open in the most humiliating way.

I hate Kane because he refused to give Cleopatra to me as my chosen mate. And I hate Willaims with a scorching intensity because the woman I'm madly in love with keeps warming his bed.

I just started playing the drums for their downfall but I'm in no way joining the dance.

“Think about it, Kane. And remember, the meeting is in two days. Let me know when you have a plan ready,” I said, taunting him further before leaving.

I walked out of the pack house, heading for my car and that was when I saw her. Cleopatra.
She was tying her hair up as she made her way out of Kane's private quarters. Just the way I like it.

Why was she there? Warming his bed too? Anger rose in my throat like a bitter bile. But it was soon replaced with excitement when her eyes met mine. Those beautiful sparkling blue eyes that reminded me of the ocean.

“Alpha Dylan?” She called, a surprised look on her face. “How come you're here? I've not seen you since that night.”

She noticed my absence? That's progress right there.

A strand of hair fell across her face as she walked up to me and I fought back the urge to reach out and tuck it away.

“I've been on a business trip,” I said when she made her way to where I stood.

“Oh, interesting,” she muttered. I doubt she found that interesting.

Would she kick me in the balls if I kissed her right now? Her lips looked so full and plump like they carry the sweet nectar of life.

I forced myself to focus, to keep my emotions in check. I couldn't let her see how badly I wanted her. How much I want to feel her bare skin against mine.

“It's good to see you again, Cleopatra,” I managed to say, my voice steady. “You look…beautiful as always.”

She looked at me quizzically and raised an eyebrow. “Thanks?” She whispered softly.

I wanted to reach out and touch her, to feel her warmth, even if it's just my fingers touching hers. Anything. But I resisted the urge. Now was not the time. I had to play my cards right if I must win her.

“Why did you come to see Alpha Kane?” She asked, a serious expression on her face.

“I had…things to report about the business trip I was on,” I replied vaguely, not wanting to give away anymore than that.

“May I ask why you were coming out from Kane's private quarters?” I asked, my voice laced with casual curiosity.

I was not able to stop myself. My mind was trying to answer that and I wasn't pleased with how it was playing out.

I watched her closely, looking for any signs that will give away the main reason. That was when I noticed the fatigue in her eyes.

She looked like she had been wrestling or fighting. Maybe she has been training hard? She looked confused, like she doesn't even know why she was there in the first place.

“I-I don't know. But I guess I slept off while waiting for him or something,” she replied and waved it off. “I'll have to leave now,” she added and started walking away.

What if I kidnapped her? No. She would live to hate me if I did that. But does it really matter? She can hate me all she wants as long as I get to have her all to myself.

I watched as Cleopatra walked away, her form fading into the distance. I felt a surge of frustration. I wanted to grab her, to hold her close and give her the whole world. But I can't right now.

I need to become someone she could rely on, someone she could trust. Only then would I have a chance to win her heart.

I was distracted, lost in thoughts about Cleopatra and a future with her in it. I didn't notice that someone was calling out for me.

“For fuck sake Andy! You scared me. Why will you creep in on me like that?” I barked in shock with my hand clutched to my chest when the warrior I came with crept in behind me and whispered Alpha, into my ears.

“I'm sorry Alpha, I've been calling you for a while now but you seemed lost in thoughts so I decided to come closer,” he explained and continued when I didn't say anything, “I have something to tell you,” he added, stepping away from me.

“What is it?” I inquired curiously.
He came closer and whispered to my ears.

“What?” I growled, shocked and furious. But that was soon replaced with a chilling smirk.

Maybe it won't be so hard winning Cleopatra's heart after all.
