Twist
The door swung open and I hid behind the curtains, heart pounding in my chest anxiously.
“Alpha,” I heard someone call from outside. Alpha Williams retreated and closed the door quietly.
I slowly emerge out of my hiding place.
‘Pheww, that was close,’ I whispered silently.
I resumed my mission, quietly searching through drawers and cabinets but couldn't find the book. Maybe there is a secret room or something?
As I went over to the other side of the office to continue my search, I heard footsteps and voices approaching the door. I quietly crept out through the window, carefully surveying the office to make sure I didn't leave any mistakes. Not like I'm a novice, I never leave a trace in any of my missions.
Skillfully, I made it out of his office through the window. That was futile, maybe I should have looked harder. I'll go again tomorrow but for now, I need my beauty sleep.
“Who's there?”
One of the patrol guards asked, looking around. Fuck! I didn't see the branch on the ground and stepped on it.
“Is anyone there?” he asked again and proceeded to walk towards my direction. What should I do? Immediately, I took the cap off and fell to the ground, pretending like I was in pain.
“Help me…. please,” I croaked out.
The guard rushed towards me, looking a little skeptical. “What are you doing here?” he asked, kneeling by my side and helping me up.
“Just returning from a run, I needed to clear my head. Didn't see the rock over there and tripped on it. I think I sprained my ankle a bit,” I lied, screaming to add an extra effect to the act as he tried to get me up.
He helped me up and I limped a little before flexing my leg.
“This area is off limits to visitors, we could have killed you, thinking you're a rogue,” he said in a stern voice.
Amateur.
“The pain is gone now, thanks,” I said and walked off.
I got into my room, desperate for some sleep. As soon as my head hit the pillow, my phone rang and I groaned, knowing exactly who it was.
“How did it go?” Beta Jack asked.
I rolled my eyes as he repeated the reasons why this mission is important and why I should take it seriously and how the fate of all clans depended on it, blah blah blah.
“I understand Beta,” I replied “I will try again tomorrow night, he said I could stay as long as I want.”
“Just get it done as soon as possible,” he half yelled into my phone.
As soon as he hung up, I sighed and fell asleep thinking about how to get this mission done quickly so that Beta Jack can be off my back.

The rapt knock on my door had me jumping up from the bed at alert. I looked at my phone and it was just five in the morning. I swear to God if that is Beta Jack, I would lose it!
The knock came again, this time, it sounded impatient. I carefully made it to the door, ready for anything or anyone that would jump at me. The door opened and I saw Alpha Dylan smiling up at me, looking like a Cheshire cat.
“Can I help you?” I asked him wearily.
“The folks always say beautiful women look their best early in the morning… I came to check if the legend is true and believe me, it was worth it.”
Is this man being serious right now? I could just snap his neck and go back to bed but that would ruin my mission.
I smiled softly at him and hit his chest playfully. I know his type.
“Morning to you too Alpha Dylan,” I said through gritted teeth. “I…”
“Just call me Dylan,” he said, with a cocky smile on his face. When I'm done with this mission, he will be my personal mission. I will gladly wipe out that cockiness from his face.
“Okay… Dylan, do you have an actual message for me this morning? Cause you literally woke me,” I tried my best not to sound annoyed but I guess it wasn't working.
“Easy princess, I just wanted to be the first face you see this morning.”
God! I really don't like this man. “I think you should go, Alpha Dylan,” I replied, “I have a long day ahead of me.” As I turned to leave, he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. My soft plum chest met his and a gasp escaped from him.
Oh God… I rolled my eyes and pushed him away but he held on.
Just then, Alpha Williams walked in with his Beta Renee by his side. She looked at me scornfully like I'm a whore.
Shit. This buffalo might ruin my plan. “Morning Alpha Williams,” I waved.
He walked right past me like I am invincible.
Alpha Dylan made matters worse by sticking to my side while puffing his chest like he achieved something.
This is not good I thought and slammed my door right in the face of Dylan.
How do I pump up his ego? I know he might be thinking Alpha Dylan slept with me and that could ruin my plans to get closer to him.
Well, I'm counting on my killer looks and body this time. That morning after showering, I dressed to kill.
I made it to Alpha Williams room, and knocked briefly. I didn't wait for a response and just walked in.
And there, he stood, naked like one of the Greek gods. I could just eat him up all day long and not get tired.
‘Get your head back in the game Cleopatra,’ I scolded myself.
I walked up to him and slowly glided my hand down. He moaned and slapped my hand away, covering himself up with some clothes.
“He came knocking on my door this morning and was spilling nonsense,” I said and he turned to look at me. “I swear on the moon, nothing happened.” I said, slowly peeling my clothes off my body.
With one step, he pinned me to the wall, my hands above my head. He draped hot kisses all over my neck before taking my lips in. I moaned needily and he bent me over.
It was more of a dominance act coming from him than sex.
When he was done, he got up and turned away. I was still reeling in the moment, trying to find a way to get my plans back up.
“Make sure you leave with your pack this afternoon,” he said coldly and my breath caught in my chest.
“What?”
