New Phase
At Mr. Denise Apartment
He took his wife out, and they had their dinner at the Food Planet Restaurant, Harriet’s restaurant, she loved the meal and inquired.
“Their food tastes nice. How did you discover here?”
“It was Mr. Fields who brought me here some time ago. I guess the owner is one of his numerous Godchildren who he was helping to grow his or her business.”
“Oh! I see. We will visit here again.”
“No. We will not.”
Denise said sharply. Then, Olivia looked at her husband, who was opposite her, and asked.
“Why?”
“Because you cook better.”
Now, Olivia was dumbfounded. She wondered how he knew that she cooked better when she had only cooked a few times. To encourage her, he continued.
“You can continue with the cooking, but do not stress yourself and my baby.”
Her eyes beamed at his and she cheered up.
“Thank you, hubby. I will be careful. But there is one more thing.”
Denise leaned forward, desperately wishing to hear her request, but she suspended the discussion.
“I think we will talk when we get home.”
He picked up his cutlery which he had dropped while conversing with her and resumed with his meal. Then he asked.
“Why at home?”
She smiled and declared.
“I think it is better at home.”
“If you say so.”
They continued eating in silence, and Denise took time to observe her critically. He wanted a respectful wife and not a fearful one. He reminisces over the incident of Monday evening and wondered if he was too harsh and had instilled fear into his wife.
‘I hope she will not bottle up her feelings and burst out as she did this evening? I will do something about it before it becomes part of her.’
They returned home after their outing and chatted cheerfully over other issues and avoided the main talk. Mr. Denise Bailey did not want to appear desperate, while Olivia was afraid that he might turn her down. Later, they retired to the bedroom and changed into their pajamas. Now, Denise put forward his panic.
“Angel.”
He called out after making her to lie comfortably on his chest.
“Yes, Hubby.”
“Do you believe that I love you?”
Olivia raised her head and looked at his face, which radiated with joy, and she wondered why he asked the question.
“Sure. I believe you love, me.”
“That is good. Now tell me, what happened this evening?”
Denise maintained the same joyous expression on his face and watched her. Now, Olivia was upset by her actions and could not explain why she chose that attitude as a way of making her intentions known to her husband. To raise her confidence, Denise gave her a peck.
(Peck)
“My Angel, you are the best. Talk to me.”
Olivia’s eyes became moist as she gazed in the space and Denise, who felt he was intimidating her, gave her a clue.
“You said ‘I am nothing but an illiterate housewife, who is not entitled to pursue her dreams’, am I right?”
“Yes.”
“Have I done anything to stop you from pursuing your goals?”
Olivia looked on silently, and Denise urged her.
“I am your husband, and you are aware that I cared about you as well your dreams. If I am not getting it right, just call my attention. Did you get it?”
She nodded her head in the positive, and Denise pulled her closer and gave her a deep kiss, which she reciprocated. He released her and requested.
“Is there anything that you want to discuss with me?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. Feel free. Talk tome.”
“I had an idea about the Daniel De Pianist program. Based on the comments of the followers, I felt that concert for Children Pianists would fly.”
“Wow! That is a brilliant idea. Get your phone, let's log in to the site.”
Mr. Denise Bailey requested as he sat up from the bed. The bewildered Olivia picked her phone which was on the side locker of the bed and logged in. Denise logged in too.
“In less than a week, you have two hundred and fifty-one thousand views and one hundred and thirteen likes.”
“Yes, dear, and that is quite commendable.”
“Certainly. Imagine if you organize a concert for children below the age of ten. Did I say your mind?”
He paused and looked at his astonished wife, who never believed that it was going to be easy getting her husband on her side.
“Yes. That is my idea.”
“With Daniel De Pianist as the host, right?”
“Yes.”
“Good. If you are selling the tickets at two hundred and one thousand, participants buy the tickets; that would be two hundred thousand.”
“Wow. That is a lot of money, but why one thousand participants?”
“I am calculating based on the facility we have at the Island.”
“Wow! I have not thought of the Tourist Center. I will suggest we organize the concert for four weekends; that is eight days to accommodate all who wish to participate.”
“You are right. We will discuss more on it with Mr. Fields. He had been in the entertainment industry as long, he would have some input to make.”
“All right, hubby. Thank you for your encouragement.”
“Thank you for coming up with such an idea. You will make a good lady boss.”
Olivia laughed happily and gave her husband a tight hug and complimented.
“You are the best, hubby. I love you.”
“I am proud of you. You will be the first lady boss in the Bailey’s family. And I am proud to be the husband of that lady boss.”
“Thank you, my husband. I am proud of you, too.”
“Yes, everyone will be proud of you, especially Julie, your School mother.”
“Wow, I have not spoken with her for some time.”
(Kiss)(Kiss)
“One more thing, hubby.”
Denise, who was about lying down after the kiss, looked at her and asked.
“What is it?”
“I heard Auntie Freya talked about a private tutor for Daniel.”
“Yes. I remember.”
“I think we need to get one at once.”
“You are right. As the host, he needs to be very efficient.”
“Yes, hubby.”
“It is all right. We will look out for one. When are you hoping that the concert would take place?”
“I am looking at three months from now, when the children would be on holidays.”
“That is good. We will see Freya tomorrow after work.”
“Okay, I will wait for your return.”
“No. You are coming to work with me tomorrow. I can see you are bored staying at home alone.”
The excited Olivia appreciated her husband and gave him a peck for a new phase in their marriage.
At Sir and Lady Taylor’s House.
Mr. Henry Taylor honked his horn when he got to the gate of his Native Home, while Mr. Nicholas Fields parked behind him. The security guards who were surprised to see him at that hour opened the gates and greeted.
“Good evening, young master.”
“Good evening. How are you?”
He responded as he drove in, and the distraught Mr. Fields followed suit. He knew what to expect from Sir and Lady Taylor, but he was prepared for them. They got off their vehicles and walked into the sitting room to meet them watching the television.
“Son, what brings you by this time?”
Sir Taylor, the sixty-two years old man who was more anxious, asked while his wife, who was fifty-nine years, walked up to him and sat beside him.
“Good evening father, good evening mom.”
“Good evening, Sir and Lady. Good to see you.”
“Welcome, Nicholas, please, take your seats.”
They sat down in the couch in the big parlor that was only lively when the grandchildren come around. The couple gave them a quizzical look as they waited to hear their mission. Mr. Nicholas fields who noticed their anxiety tried to calm them down by requesting for a glass of water.
“Can I have a glass of water, please?”
“Oh! Forgive our manners.”
Lady Taylor apologized and attempted to call on the janitor, but Henry volunteered as he stood up at once.
“Don’t bother, mom, I will get it.”
Soon, he walked to the kitchen and returned with a glass of water for Mr. Fields, who took a gulp and dropped the glass on the side stool before he made his purpose of the visit known.
“Sir and Lady, as you can see, this visit is not the regular visit.”
“Yes, it is just extraordinary.”
“You are right, and that is why we need to take an extraordinary approach. Henry?”
Mr. Fields said, as he called out to Henry, who was sitting beside him.
“Yes, Godfather.”
“Can you repeat what you told me about your fiancé?”
Now, Sir and Lady Taylor looked at each other when they heard ‘your fiancé ‘, Sir Taylor leaned forward and looked at his son, waiting to hear from him.
“We were about having lunch when she walked away from me last week Tuesday and when I gave her a call afterwards, she dismissed me with the warning that I should not bother her that she wished to be alone. Since then, I could not reach her and each time I called, I discovered that she had switched off her phone.”
