The Attack 1
At the parlor, Mr. Christopher Harry was alone, but he knew that eyes were on him, especially when the security issues in the house were a concern. Now, the bouquet he was holding became a heavy load to him at that moment because it was no longer useful to him. And from the look of things, it would never be. It may only be useful to the janitor when he would use it to feed the rabbits. Nevertheless, he dropped it on the side table before he picked up his phone to chat the chef up. To his stupefaction, he had missed many calls from the chef and his Intel at the Bailey International Conglomerates. He scanned through his phone and discovered that they had been trying to reach him to stop him from embarking on the visit, but he was carried away with his desire to have Nichole.
However, he decided to call the chef back, whom he did not have the idea that she was interrogated at the Security Post.
“Pick your call?”
Mr. Arthur Bailey ordered her when her phone rang, and she attempted to ignore it.
All the same, she picked her call in trepidation, and they were astonished with the comment of the speaker from the other end.
“Hello.”
The chef said.
“Tricia, you asked me to come that Arthur was not back from work yet. Why didn't you inform me when he came back?”
The chef was utterly dumbfounded with the message. She looked at everyone with pleading eyes.
“Who was that?”
Nichole asked in anger.
“It was Mr. Christopher Harry.”
Now, Mrs. Nichole Bailey put her face down and supported her head with her hands, not wishing to see the fury that would have registered on Mr. Arthur Bailey's face. Just as she thought, he was filled with indignation when he heard Mr. Christopher Harry's name.
“Get him here.”
He ordered. Then, he sent a message to the police before he turned to Nichole and gave her an affectionate look before he said.
“You must be tired from work. I think you need rest.”
At this point, Nichole got what he was up to and carefully declined as she squeezed his hand.
“I am all right. I can stay.”
The chef, who did not understand what was going on, was more confused when she heard 'get him here' because she was not aware that Mr. Christopher Harry was in the house. Soon, the security guard arrived with the fear stricken Mr. Harry without his bouquet.
“Tell us what happened.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey ordered as he faced the chef. Now, Mr. Harry, who was freaked out when he saw the chef, could not help but plead. He did not wish to have the Chef make any confession.
“It is not what you think, Arthur. We can talk it over as adults.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey ignored his plea and continued with the chef.
“Tell us what happened.”
The Chef began to stutter.
“I, I, he, he gave, gave me a substance to add to Mrs. Bailey's tea. He said that she was meant to be his wife, and you misled her into accepting to be your wife.”
Mrs. Nichole Bailey who was bewildered looked at Mr. Christopher Harry angrily and then faced the chef and asked.
“What did he say the substance was for?”
“It was an aphrodisiac drug.”
They looked at Mr. Harry in bewilderment. Then, Mr. Bailey asked the chef.
“How much did he offer you?”
She put her face down and kept mute. Nichole, who was already tearing up, asked with a shaky voice.
“Was that what you are trying to do when I came to the kitchen?”
The chef was ashamed that she could not raise her face. Mr. Arthur Bailey was becoming more upset with the whole situation, especially when he saw Nichole tearing up. He held her hand, squeezed it and gave her a peck before he assured.
“Be strong dear. Nobody can harm you.”
At this point, Mr. Harry, who was cantankerous because he saw the woman he loved been held and dotted on by another man. Despite the situation he found himself in, he still flared up by looking at Mr. Bailey into the eyes.
“If I can't have her, you won't have her too.”
Mr. Bailey smirked in ascendancy and declared.
“I would have given your threats a thought if I don't have her yet.”
“Sh.t.”
Mr. Christopher, Harry's blurted as his eyes grew feeble in frustration when he saw how Nichole was holding him and the sparkling engagement ring on her fourth finger. Just then, they heard a police van siren. Then, it dawned on him that his game was up, and he became repented immediately.
“Arthur, don't tell me you would hand me over to the authority at my age.”
“I wish to revisit the death of my brother, Williams.”
Mr. Bailey declared as he looked into his eyes. Now, Mr. Harry was shocked and mumbled.
'What has this got to do with William's death?'
He thought.
“Let us go, sweetheart. Chief Security."
“Yes, boss.”
“Go to the station with them and hand over the chef's confession to the authority.”
“I am sorry, Mrs. Bailey. I was deceived.”
The Chef pleaded. Mr. Bailey continued facing the security guard.
“Make sure he leaves with his property because my rabbits can't even have them.”
“All right, Boss.”
Then, Mr. Arthur Bailey walked out of the Security Post holding Nichole's waist while Mr. Christopher Harry looked away in defeat. The Chief of Security opened the estate gate for the police van, they drove in and picked them. The security handed his bouquet to him, and he accompanied them to the station with his car.
Mr. Bailey and Nichole walked back to her apartment and Mr. Arthur Bailey announced as he held her face and gave her a quick kiss.
“I won't have you sleep here alone this night. Let's move to my apartment.”
“I got it. Please give me a moment.”
“It is all right.”
Mr. Arthur took his seat and picked up his jacket, while she rushed to her room and picked up the items she would need for the night and returned to the parlor.
“Shall we?”
“Certainly. Get your car keys. You are driving us.”
“Okay dear.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Bailey, who was smiling ecstatically, got into the passenger's seat as Nichole fastened her seatbelt at the driver's seat. He could not resist the urge to kiss her, but controlled himself when he remembered that they were not in his car that was fully tinted and simply said.
“You are beautiful, my love.”
“Thank you dear.”
Nichole drove off and soon, they were at Mr. Bailey's Apartment.
'This is good. I have not been driven by a woman for a long time.'
He thought as he got off the car as soon as she parked and helped her with her stuff. She got off too and walked to him. They walked into the house hand in hand and walked straight to the bedroom. Mr. Arthur Bailey, who felt that his position as the legitimate man in Nichole's life has been threatened by Mr. Christopher Harry, was sexually turned on. He needed to reassure himself that he owned her completely. As Nichole was about to take her seat, he dropped her stuff on the table and held her tightly to his chest and whispered.
“You are mine.”
“Yes. Now and always.”
Nichole reassured him, but he was still scared. He wanted to be certain that she does not have any interest in Mr. Christopher Harry, as he asked with a wavering voice.
“Would I have lost you to him if I was a bit late?”
Mrs. Nichole Bailey could not believe that Mr. Arthur Bailey could be threatened with the appearance of Mr. Christopher Harry or any other man. She released herself from his grip and looked into his eyes, which were already wet and assured.
“No dear. No one is qualified to have me except you.”
She raised her lips to meet his and gave him a quick kiss. He looked at her and still showed doubt. Then, Nichole smiled and began to unbutton his shirt and assured him.
“You are my hero, Arthur.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey turned out to be her hero that night, and he regained his position after several rounds of intimacy.
“I love you, Nichole.”
“I love you too.”
“You are moving into my apartment at once. I can't have you live alone anymore.”
“But we are yet…”
“Yes. We are yet to register our marriage. We just have a few days left. Do you realize the danger you would have faced if the chef had succeeded?"
They looked at each other and Arthur continued.
“That coward would have taken advantage of you, and I would not have been able to stand it.”
“I got it.”
She moved into Arthur Bailey's Apartment the next day while they continued with their marriage preparations.
