Zoey's Narrow Escape

Now, Nichole Bailey's phone had booted, and she began to go through her messages to check if there was any message from Zoey. The messages she got were mainly best wishes from her children and many other numbers that were not on her contact list. She looked at her husband who was already upset and said.
“Hubby, she did not send any message to me.”
“Let me have the phone, please.”
Now, she handed over her to him and laid on his thighs in the couch. He began to read through the messages from the random numbers. Now, he did not wish to scare her by saying that she must have been abducted, and the abductors may contact her for a ransom since it was her car that Zoey used. His eyes beamed when he got to the message that Stephen Bailey sent to her.
(Nichole, it is unfortunate that we have to meet like this. I had to take you away so that I can give you the love that you deserve. Arthur does not have anything to offer you. The janitor will take care of your needs until I return from my trip. Love from Stephen)
He looked at her as she was innocently watching the television and began to think of how to leave the house without raising her suspicion.
'What does Stephen want from me? Yes, you are facinorous, but cotton headed ninny muggins. I will teach you that I am still Arthur. The dreaded Arthur Bailey in those days.'
Now, she sent a message to Freya and her husband to keep Nichole company while he visits Mr. Stephen Bailey's residence
(Phil, if you are not too busy, I want to see you and your family now.)
Phil, who can go out of his way to make his father-in-law happy, replied at once.
(Okay, father, we will be with you soon)
From the look of things, he was not interested in anything else rather than to rescue Zoey and kill Stephen. To keep Nichole away from noticing that he was tensed, he praised.
“You were beautiful at the Registry today, Nichole.”
Nichole smiled as she turned and looked at him and appreciated.
“Thank dear. Was I prettier than before?”
“Yes. You became prettier the moment the registrar pronounced us husband and wife.”
Nichole laughed heartily and after fifteen minutes, Mr. Arthur Bailey's phone rang. He quickly checked his phone, and it was from Mr. Phil Anderson. He had arrived with his family. Then, he announced.
“Freya and her family are here.”
Now, Nichole jolted from his thighs and began to head towards the door. Just then, he heard Daniel's voice.
“Grandma and Grandpa. I am here.”
Nichole rushed to the parlor and Mr. Arthur Bailey used the chance and took another car keys from the wardrobe and joined them in the parlor armed with Nichole's phone.
“Congratulations, mom and father, once again.”
Phil and Freya greeted when they got in. Mr. Bailey lifted Daniel up and put him down, and he was thrilled. Without taking time, he announced.
“Freya, you will keep your Mom company. I want to get some goodies for us.”
“Wow! That is good. See you later, father.”
“See you later, hubby.”
“Phil, come with me.”
“All right, father.”
They walked out of the house and Phil waited while Mr. Arthur Bailey drove another car out of the garage. Phil joined him in the car, and they drove out of his apartment. When they got to the main gate, he parked. Mr. Phil, who had suspected that all was not well, asked.
“I hope there is no problem, father?”
“There is a problem, Phil. The slaps that Stephen, that scoundrel, got from Denise were not enough for him. I will deal with him personally. Take a look at this.”
He showed him the message and he read through.
“What? Since yesterday morning. Let us report to the authority.”
“Certainly. We are going to the station right away.”
“It is obvious that it was mother that he wanted to abduct.”
“Of course.”
“This is serious, father. That would have disrupted your marriage today.”
Mr. Bailey ignored Phil's assumption and turned on his ignition. They drove to the station and lodged their complaints.
“This is serious. We apologize for the embarrassment. Two of our men will go with you.”
The Chief Constable urged after listening to their complaints. Before they could leave the police station with two police men, he got a call from Zoey's husband.
“Hello Arthur. I am at your house. Your security guards said you just left the house. Where can I meet you?”
Mr. Arthur Bailey, who did not want his wife to be disturbed with the response he may give to him, became worried and asked.
“Where are you?”
“I just left your house.”
When he noticed that his wife would not hear whatever he informed.
“Meet us at the police station.”

“Police station?”
“Yes, we are at the gate.”
“I got it.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey addressed the two policemen after he got off call with Zoey's husband.
“Gentlemen, you will bear with us. The abducted woman's husband will join us soon."
“It is all right, Mr. Bailey.”
Then, they began to wait. The drive from the Bailey Native Home to the police station was about ten to fifteen minutes, depending on the traffic flow. Mr. Oscar Bailey got to the gate of the police station in good time. He got off his car and walked to Mr. Arthur Bailey's car. He was startled to see two policemen in his car.
“I hope there is no problem, Arthur.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey looked at the disgruntled man before him, who had lost some weight. To avoid making things more difficult for him, he simply announced.
“We are paying Stephen a visit.”
Mr. Oscar Bailey searched his face for any clue, but he got none. Then he asked that was bothering him.
“And thereafter, we will visit the hospital and ask of my wife. I guess.”
Mr. Arthur gave him a cursory response.
“Come with us.”
He walked back to his car, got in and drove behind Mr. Arthur Bailey while the two policemen came after them in the police van.
They got to Mr. Stephen Bailey's residence after a few minutes drive. They all got off their cars and walked behind the two policemen. Against their expectations, Mr. Stephen Bailey's house was locked. Now, all eyes were on Mr. Arthur Bailey.
“Can I see the messages again?”
One of the police officers requested. Mr. Bailey showed him the message, and he read through again.
“The janitor is supposed to be at home.”
The police officer pointed out.
“Yes, and look at Mr. Stephen Bailey's car. It means he is out of town.”
Mr. Phil Anderson declared.
“Can you knock on the door? The janitor could be in the kitchen or in the room cleaning.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey advised. The police officer took his advice and knocked vehemently on the door and announced.
“This is the police. Open the door.”
That order became Zoey's saving grace.
At The Underground.
Mr. Stephen Bailey and his partner had glued their eyes to the television for news about the wolves. To their amazement, the authority was not saying anything about them.
“Why is the police not saying anything about the wolves?”
The disheveled Mr. Stephen Bailey asked. His partner will as always give him an encouraging reply.
“Your phone had been switched off. You only turned in on when you sent a message to your woman yesterday and switched it off again. They might have sorted themselves out and are trying to reach you."
“You may be right. You have just reminded me. I will send another message to my woman right away.”
(Nichole love, how are you doing. I will be back to town very soon, and we will begin to process our marriage. Love from Stephen.)
The words of his partner which assured him that the wolves must have sorted themselves gave him fresh impetus and encouragement.
At Mr. Stephen Bailey's Residence.
After the police knocked and announced that it was the presence of the police, Zoey, became expectant. She had been lying on the floor of the bathroom out of exhaustion and was sustaining herself with water from the tap, began to crawl out. She got out of the bathroom and, then, to the bedroom. Likewise, she believed that the bedroom door was locked for that, she did not bother to crawl towards the door but for the window. Then, Mr. Arthur Bailey heard Nichole Bailey's phone beep.
He checked her phone and saw the disgusting message from Mr. Stephen Bailey.
'Stephen, if you are a man, show yourself.'
“What are we doing here, Arthur. Let us check the hospital to know why my wife's phone is switched off. I'm not comfortable waiting for Stephen.”
Mr. Oscar Bailey ominously voiced out in anguish, and Mr. Arthur Bailey gave an abrupt response.
“You will soon find out.”
“We will have to leave since there is no one at home.”
One of the police officers announced.
“The janitor might have stepped out or something. Let us hang around."
Mr. Arthur Bailey advised. The anxious Mr. Oscar Bailey, who was losing his mind, blurted out.
“You can meet me at the hospital if you wish. I don't understand why you asked me to come with you to the home of someone who does not have any business with my wife.”
Then, he began to walk towards his car, while Mr. Phil Anderson halted him.
“Wait, uncle in-law. Let me check the janitor at the backyard.”
Mr. Oscar Bailey stopped suddenly while Phil walked to the backyard. Then, there was a sudden manifestation. He observed Nichole's car with awe. When he was able to find his bearing, he called out with a genuine consternation.
“Father. Please, come.”
