A Mad Man Is A Relation of Someone

“How did it go at the office today?”
He asked before they sat down on the couch. Then, Lorene Walker gave a superficial answer.
“Nothing much. We will continue on Monday.”
She gave him a keen look which he mistook for a suspicious look and that made him to fidget because a sinner will always run even if no one is chasing him. Then she requested.
“Tell me, how did you spend your day without me?”
Mr. Stephen Bailey tried to change the tensed atmosphere to a lively one and joked by giving her the same response she gave to him a while ago
“Nothing much. We will continue on Monday.”
Now, Mr. Stephen Bailey was honest because he had agreed with Evelyn Whyte to meet on Monday for lunch. Lorene Walker laughed softly, and he laughed too before she said.
“Wow! That is funny.”
They laughed happily. And to distract her further, he volunteered to serve her some breakfast.
“Let me serve your breakfast.”
“Oh! I don’t mind. Thank you. Let me change.”
“It is all right.”
She said as got up from the chair and began to walk to the room while he proceeded to the kitchen. He served the breakfast on the dining table, and she joined him later.
“You are a caring person. I love you.”
(Peck)
“I’m happy you found me loveable. We will get to know each other better.”
They had their breakfast joyously, chatted and resumed their love escapade. They actually had the urge to switch on the television, especially Mr. Stephen Bailey, who was interested in the news about his wolves. But they were afraid of appearing to be bored with each other, so, they spent the weekend loving each other and pottering about without turning on the television.

At The Military Barracks

After the complete pandemonium at Mr. Stephen Bailey’s resort the previous day, the news spread like a forest fire in the dry season. Every media houses break the news on their stations, both locally, internationally and online that even a deaf could hear it. As expected, the news had many dimensions, everyone conceived the news to suite his or her opinion of the resort and the owner.
(I know what that dubious man is capable of doing it. He can kill to make money.)
(Nemesis had cut up with him.)
(How can he be callous to keep the money meant for the indigent for himself?)
The negative comments were endless. Everyone believed that he did without any iota of doubt. Besides, the beggars and indigents were regarded to be honest in their claims.
“They cannot be claiming what they were certain of.”
Some passersby claimed.
Meanwhile, among the Bailey’s family members, some of them were seeing it from another perspective. On Saturday afternoon, the news of the uproar was still as fresh as if it just occurred. It was the headlines of the major dailies in the city.
Gen. Trevor Bailey, the family’s Patriarch, who was not familiar with Mr. Stephen Bailey and did not have his contact. So, he was finding it difficult to contact him and hear from. Then, he asserted.
“No matter what the accusation is, he is one of us.”
Gen. Trevor Bailey said when he watched the news. He was upset when he saw the news, the pictures, and the videos of the explosion. He knew that the resort belonged to a member of the Bailey family who had questionable characters, especially after Mr. Oscar Bailey reported to him that his wife was found at Mr. Stephen’s house unconscious.
“We cannot abandon him at this point. Yes, he may have questionable characters, but he is not the worst human being that ever lived.”
He concluded as he mulled over the matter at his barracks home where had lived since he was twenty years after he was enlisted in the army. After his retirement, he still maintained his apartment as a retired general in the military.
The Patriarch, was a highly respected member of the society. When the attempted abduction of Mr. Arthur Bailey failed on Monday and the media reported that a respected member of the society was their target, many people thought he was the person involved. At Ninety five years, he was still strong and agile and drives himself about without the aid of a driver.
“Get me the family file.”
He called out to his orderly, who was sitting at the balcony.
“Okay. General.”
Gen. Trevor Bailey still maintained the old method of preserving information. He had a cabinet for the documents pertaining to different matters in his care.
“Here is the file, General.”
The orderly said as he handed over the file to him.
“Thank you.”
The General mumbled as he collected the file and fished out of the file the document containing the email addresses and the phone numbers of all the heads of the family of each branch of the Bailey family. Within twenty minutes, he had sent messages to the sixty-eight Family Heads including Mr. Oscar Bailey, even though he was not a Family Head requesting that they should converge at his apartment at the barracks by 1:00 pm the next day for a very crucial matter.
At Cairo
Mr. Arthur Bailey and Nichole arrived the Cairo airport after five hours. They got to the seven-star hotel that Louis had booked for them and checked in. They became nostalgic about their first visit to the suite, especially Nichole, who suddenly remembered how Louis wept like a baby that day. At that point, her eyes became moist as she walked to the bedroom to drop her jacket. Her husband, who was attending to the porter who brought their luggage, was oblivious of her mood.
After he settled the porter, he began to drag their trolley bags to the bedroom and met Nichole backing him and facing the wardrobe while snuffling silently. He stopped instantly, dropped the trolleys and hurried to her.
“Nichole.”
He called out before he got to her. Then, he held her shoulder and turned her swiftly to face him only to see that her face was soaked with tears, and he inquired.
“What is the matter, Nichole? Why are you crying?”
Mrs. Nichole Bailey glanced at his worried face before she laid her head on his chest and sobbed silently while he cuddled and pacified her.
“Calm down, dear. You can talk to me. What is the matter?”
She calmed down and lifted her face and announced.
“I just remembered how Louis wept the other day.”
“I thought as much. It is all right. He is fine now. Let us send message to our family platform. I am sure it will soothe all of them to hear that we arrived safely.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey said as he ran his hand through her hair. She cheered up and said.
“Ok. You can go ahead.”
They sat together on the bed, and he drafted the message and sent. He looked at her and declared.
“Maternal Instinct can be powerful.”
Nichole only smiled. Then, he drew her closer and gave her a peck. Indeed, maternal instinct could be powerful. Their message got to Louis when he was about to take a decision that will affect everybody adversely. The feeling Mrs. Nichole Bailey got when she got into the room was the type a mother got when her child was in danger.

At The Tourist Center.
Jude Addy was beginning to feel guilty of eating and doing nothing. He wished to be of assistance to his host by any means to justify the meal he was eating. After he had his dinner of another sumptuous meal, he volunteered to clear the plates from the table and if possible, do the washing, but the Security Officer stopped him.
“Stop. The waiter will do that.”
The spooked Jude Addy stopped suddenly when he heard the Security Officer’s voice. He was at the passage when he got out of his room carrying the plates when he stopped him. He turned to the direction of the voice and offered.
“I can do it, sir.”
The Security Officer smiled and refuted.
“I know, but allow the waiter to do his work. Would you rather have him sacked?”
Jude Addy became solemn when heard the word ‘sacked’ and the Security Officer noticed it. He handed the tray to the waiter who was standing by dressed in his work uniform, and he collected it cheerfully.
“You are our guest. Feel at home. Okay?”
The security officer corrected as he watched him return to his room.
“Thank you sir.”
Jude said and went back to the room to continue watching the television. The Security Officer, who was pleased with Jude Addy’s humility, took a special liking for him. Although, Mr. Denise Bailey, addressed him as ‘friend’, he knew better. From his look and attitude, he knew he was a kid who appeared older than his age due to hardship. His dressing showed that he was either a beggar or a displaced foreigner whom his boss picked on the road. Afterwards, he went about his work and forgot about Jude Addy.
