The Return of a Kinsman 3
“Hello, Mr. Bailey. How may I help you?”
“Hello, Mr. Finnegan. Thank you for the ride you gave to my wife and cousin.”
“Don't think too much about it, Mr. Bailey.”
“Good, she said there were protesters on the road.”
“Yes, she is right.”
“If I may ask, what were their grievances?”
“It is not a serious matter. The criminal they suspected was from Kent turned out to come from Bricks Mont.”
The first thought that came to Mr. Denise Bailey's mind was to exclaim;
'Oh my God' and ask 'when did Uncle Stephen become a citizen of Bricks Mont'.
But he restrained himself and responded cheerfully.
“Oh, I see. What is the present state of affairs?”
“Everything is under control. The protesters have returned to their homes.”
“It is all right. See you later.”
“Ok, Mr. Bailey.”
At the Heathrow Airport and Dover
Mr. Denise Bailey and his family arrived at the airport. He was amazed when he saw the team of convoy that his parents sent with Mr. Phil Anderson and Mr. Nicholas Fields in the number.
“Wow! Godfather and brother-in-law, I am honored to have you.”
“We are pleased to have you back.”
“Thank you. Meet Tim, my cousin. Tim, meet Mr. Fields and Mr. Anderson.”
Tim was pleased when he introduced him as his cousin. Olivia, who had greeted Mr. Anderson and Mr. Fields thought that her husband had a slip of tongue, looked on cheerfully.
“Good to see you, Mr. Fields and Mr. Anderson.”
Tim greeted warmly.
“Good to see you, Tim. Welcome home.”
Afterwards, they took off, followed by the Security Officers. After an hour, they were at the Bailey Native Home for a grand reception on a kinsman. Olivia, who thought it was a mere welcome treat for herself and her husband, was excited.
“I am glad to have you back, Angel. I hope the trip did not stress you?”
“Thank you, mom. Not at all. The trip was not stressful.”
“Good. How was the wedding?”
“The wedding was good. My parents sent their regards.”
“Oh, that is pleasant. I hope they are okay?”
“Yes, mom. Everyone is fine.
After welcoming Olivia, Mrs. Nichole Bailey went ahead to welcome Tim with a hug.
“Welcome home, son. How was your trip?”
Tim, who heard Olivia address her as mom, addressed her as mom too
“Thank you, mom. My trip was smooth.”
Now, Mr. Arthur Bailey, who had been communicating with Mr. Denise Bailey and had been up and could heave a sigh of relief. He called out.
“Tim, my son. Come and give dad a hug.”
Tim, who was as amazed as Olivia, gave him a hug. Then, he greeted and addressed him like others.
“Good to see you, father.”
“Good to see you, my son. Welcome back home.”
“Thank you, father.”
Olivia was aware that her husband and his family cherish relationships, but what she was seeing was beyond her comprehension. She sat down quietly while Tim sat beside her. They chatted happily as they waited for lunch. Soon, the janitor announced.
“Lunch is ready.”
“It is all right. Shall we move on the table?”
Mrs. Nichole Bailey announced. They moved over to the dinner table and had their lunch joyously. Tim, was pleased to have such lovely people around him. Afterwards, it was time to leave. Mr. Arthur Bailey gave Mr. Denise Bailey a familiar look, and he nodded in the positive. He wanted to know whether he would return with Tim to his house or leave him with them. He indicated that he would go home with him. They left after the farewell greetings and Mr. Arthur Bailey announced.
“All right, Denise. We will talk more. Take care of your family.”
“I will, father.”
They got back into Mr. Phil Anderson's car, and they took off. Mr. Fields returned to his house while Mr. Phil Anderson took them home.
After they left, Mr. Arthur Bailey and his wife walked to their bedroom, and he gave the Patriarch a call. The Patriarch was startled when he saw his call. His phone had not rested due to calls and messages since the news of Mr. Stephen Bailey's arrest. He was one of those who did not bother to give him a call over that, and he would not hold it against him. Now that his call came, he could not think of the right way to react. Nevertheless, he picked the call and greeted with a normal tone.
“Hello, Arthur.”
“It is good to hear from, our father.”
“Good to hear from you, too. How is Nichole?”
“Nichole, is fine. She would love to say 'hello' to you.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey handed his phone over to his wife, who was sitting beside him and was listening to their conversations. Then she greeted him warmly and handed the phone back to her husband.
“My Patriarch, I promised to be more frequent in paying you a visit the last time I visited.”
“Yes, you did. But I have not seen you.”
They laughed heartily and Mr. Arthur Bailey continued.
“Yes. I planned to surprise you this weekend.”
“It is OK. I will be waiting.”
“One more thing, our father.”
“Yes. Something came up. My son traveled to Bricks Mont and met Stephen's son.”
The Patriarch had heard many negative reports about Stephen. Now, hearing his name only connoted bad news. So he asked.
“What did you say, Arthur?”
Mr. Arthur Bailey repeated himself, and the Patriarch's amazement bled into his tone.
“Are you convinced of what you are saying, Arthur?”
“Yes, I am certain.”
“That is a piece of good news. Our ancestors will be happy if we can send a delegate to Bricks Mont and bring him back home.”
Now, Mr. Arthur Bailey, who delighted so much in his children, saw that moment as an opportunity to raise his horn.
“There will be no need for that. Denise cannot see a kinsman elsewhere and not bring him back home.”
“What!”
The Patriarch, who was elated, screamed before he proceeded.
“You mean that he came back with him?”
“Yes, our Patriarch.”
“Single handedly?”
“Yes. Single-handedly.”
“Our ancestors will be pleased with him.”
“Thank you. We will come with him tomorrow if you would be free.”
