The Affinity

They thanked and promised, but someone was missing – the go-getter or, the amnesty-getter. The disgruntled Prof. Wood was speechless when he noticed that. However, he carried on with the lecture dolefully. Shortly, his time was up, and he left for his office. Then, he wondered where he must have gone to. Afterwards, Jeff returned to the class for his next lecture.
At the end of the lecture, he went to Leon's class to pick him, but he met him chatting with the lecturer he gifted his phone in a classroom with a few students. Then, Jeff stood by the window to wait for him.
“Leon, thank you for the gift. You can have your gift back, I was only pulling your legs.”
Proclaimed the sixty-seven years old lecturer who was holding the gift. Meanwhile, Leon did not wish to have the gift back, so he teased.
“Prof. Green, since you chose to pull my leg on your volition, you can keep the gift on my volition.”
The Professor, who was ecstatically lively, laughed and that attracted Jeff's attention.
“You are a funny chap, Leon. I just feel you need it more than I do.”
Now, Jeff walked in to join them when he noticed that the chatting was taking long.
“No, Prof., you need it as well. Consider it a gift from him. We shall be on our way.”
Jeff chipped in, and pulled Leon by the hand. Then, Prof. Green shook his head with a bitter expression on his face, and the youngsters noticed. They mistook it for his reluctance to accept the gift. Then, he observed the gift again and expressed.
“Cherry Fields again! Anyway, I am delighted to have it. Thank you.”
He appreciated.
“It is my pleasure, Prof. We shall be on our way.”
Leon, acknowledged and he watched them leave. Then, he remembered when he was a teacher in a high school. He loved youngsters so much, and they have special likeness for him too. Likewise, he looked at the gift again and stared at the wall for a few seconds before he took and a deep breath and exclaimed.
“The Cherry Fields again.”
At the Morris Ancestral Manor.
Jeff and Leon returned to the Manor and had their lunch. After lunch, Jeff and Leon retired to their suite. Meanwhile, Mr. Morris had fallen in love with the Organic Tea. He took some packets to the office, and he was on his second cup after he got back from work.
'I will send some to Africa. I'm certain that my son and his wife would love it.'
He thought. Howbeit, Jeff had almost concluded his Mini Project, as well as Leon. Just then, he got a message alert.
Ding!
It was from Prof. Clement Thompson, the Acting Vice Chancellor. He had replied to the email from the Cherry Fields Oil and Gas Group requesting him to state the needs of the school. Now, Jeff quickly forwarded the mail to his father.
After Jeff had settled some pressing issues like forwarding the email to his father and concluding his Mini Project, he delved conscientiously into the auction issues. The island for sale had appealing features. It was located at the boundary between Canada and America. The island was a den for criminal activities such as kidnapping and home to drug peddlers. Everyone knew that the most notorious terrorist in the world had his followers planted there, for that, the government decided to sell it off as her last resort.
When he was satisfied with the area and felt there was no harm in trying, he filled out the online form on their website with his personal details and got the automated acknowledgement letter and code number.
Then, he walked to the grandfather, who had already dozed off on the couch after the third cup of the Organic Tea. He opened his eyes as soon as the door opened.
“Sorry grandpa. I can always come back if you are tired.”
“Come in. I will soon go down for dinner. What brings you?”
Jeff walked in and sat beside him on the double seater couch. Then, he informed him about the island in copacetic and the benefits of owning such property.
“How did you get the information?”
His grandfather asked at once.
“I stumbled on it on the television this morning.”
“This morning? Were you not in school?”
“I was. It was at the Endless Love Arcadia, when I went for my Mini Project.”
“It is all right. The acquisition of the island is worth venturing into. Have you informed your dad?”
“I have not. I just got the information today.”
“Okay. I will suggest you contact our Geophysics Department. Ask them to survey the land and advise us.”
“It is all right, grandpa. I will send a message right away.”
Then, he sent a mail to the Manager of the Geophysics Department, while Mr. Morris looked at him in admiration.
'What would I have done without you, Jeffrey?'
He thought.
“I have sent it.”
At once, he got a reply from the manager.
“I got it, boss. I will revert as soon possible.”
“He has responded.”
Jeff pointed out and showed the message to his grandfather. He read the message and shook his head happily and remarked.
“It is all right. Let us wait for his response. Get Leon, let's go for dinner.”
“I will.”
They got down to the dinner table and Mr. Morris requested for another cup of the Organic Tea while waiting for the meal to be served.
“Before I forget, Jeffrey, you need to buy more of the Organic Tea and send to Africa. Your Mom and Dad will love it.”
“Excellent. I will do so, dad. We can also send to Jewel in France.”
“You are right. That is very considerate of you.”
Afterwards, they had their dinner, played some online game and retired for the night. Mr. Morris watched the local channels for about three hours, but did not see any news about the Island Auction Sales.
'Where did Jeffrey get his information? A project of this magnitude should have been given a wider publication.'
He thought.
