The Global Peace Ambassador 2
Two Weeks Later
Mr. Louis Bailey’s stay was helpful in the planning of the Global Peace Ambassador Ceremony. He accompanied his father to pay visits to as many friends who they wished to accompany them to the United Dunforn Republic. Notable among them was Sir Relish, who was happy with such honor.
“I am highly honored, Arthur.”
“It is my pleasure, Sir Relish. I have two invitations. One is for you and the other for the Council of Knights.”
“You have our full support.”
“Thank you very much.”
Two days before the event, Mr. Denise Bailey and his family left in the company of the security personnel who the Constable arranged for him. When they got to the airport, the two admirals were there to receive them and took them to the Government House.
“Welcome to our United Republic. We owe you a lot, Mr. Bailey.”
“Thank you, Admiral Jacob and Twist. I am greatly honored.”
Now, the Head of the Government and his vice who comprised of the two Heads of the Government from North and South were glad to receive them.
Two Days Later. At the United Dunforn Republic Sports Arena.
When the organizers of the event spotted Tim Princewill in Mr. Denise Bailey’s entourage, they were thrilled, and they confessed.
“We have been trying to reach him but could not. We even tried to contact him through his Head of Government at Bricks Mont, but he said that he could not reach him as well.”
‘His Head of Government, indeed.’
Mr. Denise Bailey mumbled. At last, they contracted Tim Princewill as one of the musicians to grace the occasion. Now, the guests were seated and the ceremony began. The awardees and their spouses were seated separately. Meanwhile, Mr. Arthur Bailey’s family, business associates and league of friends graced the occasion. His entourage was longer than some Heads of Government. At the stipulated time, the ceremony began. Meanwhile, the media team was projecting everyone present through the projector, and Olivia was able to spot a familiar face among his father-in-law’s entourage. Before she could have a second look at the face, another slide appeared on the screen. Therefore, she did not have the opportunity to brood over the face as the Master of the Ceremony announced the next item on the program, and it was her little cousin’s performance. She focused her attention on him with joy radiating her face.
Nevertheless, the time for the award came and the Head of the Government mounted the podium flanked with his vice and Admiral. The MC handed over the microphone to him, and he began by calling other awardees. After giving them the awards, he continued.
“The last but not the least, I wish to invite the initiator of today’s event. Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s welcome Mr. Louis Bailey and his dear wife to the stage.”
Before he could get up, there was a fanfare from the youths of the United Dunforn Republic. For the first time, he noticed that they made a special shirt for him, and he was stunned. Meanwhile, on his parents' stand, they gave him a standing ovation until he got to the podium with his wife. When the cheering calmed down, the Head of the Government continued by stating how he declined the offer to supply them with ammunition.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, you can agree with me that he is a rare creature.”
(Fanfare and clapping ovation)
Then, Mr. Denise Bailey collected the mic and began to speak.
“Before the award, I would love my parents, Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Nichole Bailey to be by my side. The people who nurtured me to be a rare creature.”
Now, Mr. Arthur Bailey stood up and helped his beautiful wife to stand by holding her right hand with his left hand. They walked majestically while Sir Relish and another Knight, who was holding a briefcase, walked behind them with their full knighthood regalia. Their presence gave them unimaginable prestige, and the fanfare increased. When they got to the podium, they stood beside Mr. Denise Bailey and his wife, while Sir Relish and his colleague stood by the side. Then, the Head of the Government continued. At last, he gave him the title of The Global Peace Ambassador, which was endorsed by the United Nations. He decorated him with badges and a certificate which he collected and displayed it for a photograph. Afterwards, Mr. Denise Bailey gave his acceptance speech.
“Ladies and Gentlemen….. To ensure the sustainability of this government, I would love to do a little experiment. Admiral Twist and Admiral Jacob, please come forward with the bottles of drinks and glass cups that I requested for.”
Quickly, the two admirals stepped forwards holding the different bottles of drinks with a class cup each. Then, Mr. Denise Bailey continued.
“Thank you.”
He lifted the bottle of the drink that Admiral Jacob was holding and announced.
“This yellow drink is produced in the Dunford North. Am I right?”
“Yes.”
The audience cheered. Then, he gave the bottle back to Admiral Jacob and lifted Admiral Twist’s bottle and announced again.
“What about this is black drink, where is it produced?”
“In Dunforn South.”
The people chorused.
“Good. Kindly, fill the glass cups to the middle.”
He requested from the Admirals. Now, the audience was marveled and could not imagine what he was up to. His parents and the other dignitaries who were at the podium were awestruck because they could not relate the relationship of what he was doing with the ceremony. All the same, they looked on. After the admirals filled their class cups to the middle, he instructed.
“Kindly exchange your bottles of drinks.”
They obediently did as he instructed and he continued.
“Now, I want you to fill your glass cups to the brim with the drinks in your hands.”
They began to fill their glasses with the new bottles of drinks in their hands, and the color of the drinks in the glass cups began to change to green. When they were done, he apologized.
