The Secret 11
At Lorene Walker’s House
She got back to her lonely house dejected. Now, Mr. Reuben Storm who was aware that she would have been off work and at home gave her a call. She picked her call and responded with a flat voice.
“Hello, Reuben. Any news about Evelyn?”
“Nothing yet. I have informed her parents, and they promised to declare her missing after two weeks.”
“That is a good option. I hope it would work.”
“Yes. I pray so. You sound low. I hope you are good?”
“One of my colleagues, Mrs. Bailey, provoked me today. I am going to teach her the lesson she would never forget in life.”
Now, Mr. Reuben Storm chuckled, advised.
“Lorene, you have to be careful with that family. I was not satisfied with the treatment you gave to Mr. Stephen Bailey yesterday.”
Lorene Walker, the proverbial stubborn fly, who must accompany a corpse to the grave, responded nonchalantly.
“Thank you, Reuben. Let me worry about that.”
“It is all right. See you later.
The thought of being the first lady of the Bailey family gave her an exaggerated confidence. She settled down to draft her disparaging post for the social media and smiled with glee.
“She will wake up tomorrow morning and discover that her story is all over the internet.”
At the Bailey Native Home
After Mr. Brown Bailey and his team left, there was silence in the parlor. Mr. Arthur Bailey was still looking angry, so Nichole and Phil sat quietly and waited for him to speak. After a few seconds of silence, he breathed and greeted.
“Welcome back, Nichole. How was your day?”
Nichole, who did not inform him of the Lorene’s accusation, and the panel gave him a love look and responded.
“My day was fine. And yours?”
He gave her an assuring smile and answered.
“My day was fine too.”
Then, he turned to Phil and asked.
“Phil. How are you?”
Now, Phil, who had been waiting for the opportunity to speak, sat up from the couch and replied.
“I am good, father. By the way, what brought that black sheep here again?”
“I think it was the decision of the Family Heads Forum that Brown should come and plead on his behalf. He must have invited Mr. Douglas to assist him in the task.”
“Mr. Douglas must have been embarrassed.”
Nichole pointed out. Now, Mr. Bailey who had enough trouble for the day and was aware of Phil’s purpose of coming dismissed him.
“I think we need to rest for the day. Phil, we can meet in the office tomorrow.”
“I will father. But we must do something about that black sheep. It is like he wants more trouble.”
Now, Mr. Arthur Bailey, who understood Phil’s coded grievance, gave him an assuring smile and consoled.
“With this epiphany, it is up to the family to decide on the next action to take. Exposing him is enough attack for now.”
“You are right, father. We will fish out the wolves and hear more from them.”
“You have a point. We will involve the police over that when you come tomorrow.”
“Okay, father. I will be on my way.”
“It is all right. Extend my greetings to your family.”
“Good night, Phil. I hope Daniel is coping with his Piano Lesson?”
“Yes mom. His lesson teacher is good at his work. Good night.”
After he left, Mr. Arthur Bailey took a love look at his wife and announced.
“You must be tired, my dear. Let’s go to the room.”
She gave the chef instruction on what to prepare for dinner and walked to the room with her husband.
At Mr. Denise Bailey’s Apartment
After Mr. Phil Anderson left with his family, Mr. Denise Bailey took his wife to the bedroom. He wished there was something else he could do to keep her happy all the time. Then, he inquired.
“Wifey, tell me, how did you spend your day.”
The happy Olivia responded excitedly.
“My day was excellent. Auntie Freya came around after she took Daniel to school. She worked from here and when school was over, we went to pick him with my car.”
“Wow! Your day was indeed magnificent. And how is my daughter doing?”
“Your son is doing fine.”
They laughed and chatted about her business before they retired for the night.
Thursday Morning.
Olivia woke up early to update the Daniel De Pianist Page, and many stories popped up at once on her device. Now, one of the stories captured her interest and she punched on it. To her perturbation, it was a humiliating story about her mother-in-law, which Lorene Walker had posted on the internet. She had posted the picture of Nichole with a caricature which she labelled, The Frustrated Nichole and her Ugly Duckling Husband.
“What!”
She exclaimed and looked at her husband who was sleeping peacefully by her side and punched on the story. Then she began to read through it.
“How can she say that mom is frustrated and married to an ugly duckling?”
She looked at the profile of the poster and discovered that she was her mother-in-law’s colleagues. Then, she looked at the view box. The views were not many because she was not good at attracting viewers. Then, she checked the comment box and discovered that only five people had commented, and they were mainly from the Medical Association. Their comments were merely questions like.
(When did this happen?)
(Oh! No. This should not be heard among Medical Practitioners.)
(You should settle your differences amicably.)
(Mrs. Nichole Bailey is married to one of the successful, handsome men in Kent. Lorene, how did you get the story of ugly duckling?)
Now, after reading through the comments, Olivia commented too.
(Lorene, you are a disgrace to the Medical Association. You are trained to save lives and not to murder.)
Another commenter responded to her post and said:
(You got it.)
Now, after the post, Lorene Walker went to sleep happily with a sense of fulfillment. She was hoping that by morning, the internet would have been bustling with defamatory remarks about Nichole.
