The Epiphany 6
At Dover
Mr. Arthur Bailey was monitoring the meeting at Mr. Denise Bailey’s office and was glad that he was controlling the affairs. Meanwhile, the two Admirals were seeing a confidence twenty-four years old Ammunition Dealer turned Peace and Conflict Resolution Manager, but they were not seeing the powers which were surrounding him. At the end of the meeting, the Admirals had handshakes and gave each other hugs.
“Admiral Twist. I am glad that we lived to meet each other in the land of the living.”
Admiral Jacob said with a rueful smile on his face as he gave his opponent turned friend a hug and fought the tears of joy that had gathered in his eyes.
“You are right, my brother. We did not meet in a battlefield nor in a mass grave.”
“Thank you, Mr. Denise Bailey, for your love for us and humanity.”
Mr. Denise Bailey, who was smiling in satisfaction, responded.
“Do not think much about it. Nothing is too much to sacrifice to humanity.”
Afterwards, Mr. Denise Bailey walked them to the car park where the drivers were waiting, and he instructed.
“The two Admirals will be in your car, while their orderlies will be in your car.”
“It is noted, boss.”
Now, the guests who had never connected him with the Tourist Center observed the way he talked to the drivers and the respect they accorded him, wondered. Afterwards, they got into the vehicles happily and the driver drove off.
Subsequently, Mr. Denise Bailey walked to his father’s office for a hug and to celebrate Louis’s accomplishment.
At The Tourist Center
When Jude Addy returned, he happily paid the Chief of the Security a visit to inform of his immigration status.
“Wow! Jude, you are not just lucky, but you are blessed by God. I am glad that it worked out.”
“Thank you, boss.”
“So, what is your next plan? I hope you are not planning to leave us soon?”
The Chief of the Security merely wished to pull his leg. Then, Jude gave a candid response.
“This is a home to me. I don’t have the plan of leaving for another place.”
“That is good. I am delighted to hear that.”
At the Food Planet Restaurant
Apart from the online games at nights, Miss Harriet David had always hoped to see Mr. Henry Taylor during lunch. Although, they hardly meet at the restaurant, but she was conversant with his visits and longed for it. To her nightmare, that day, Mr. Henry Taylor did not show up, and she was devastated – she was in love without knowing it.
Earlier on, Mr. Nicholas Fields had invited Mr. Henry Taylor to his house for lunch. After he canceled his marriage with Whitney Relish, he had been worried about his next plans, so he invited him over to have a chat with him.
“So, Henry, what do you plan to do next?”
“Godfather, for now, I have no idea of what to do. I don’t think I can trust any lady again.”
“That is the problem and that is why I arranged for this meeting. I don’t want you to allow Whitney, who had moved on with her life, to obstruct your life. Did you get me?”
Now, Mr. Henry Taylor’s mood changed. His wedding would have taken place the previous week, and it never did, while the lady was not even making any effort to contact him. Then, Mr. Nicholas Fields continued.
“Henry, there are many good ladies around who would love to have a good guy like you for a partner.”
Then, Mr. Henry Taylor looked up and asked.
“Godfather, I have been thinking.”
Mr. Fields looked on and waited for him to continue.
“It is like these ladies are not seeing what you are seeing in me. I can’t believe that Whitney could walk out on me.”
“You are back to where you are coming from. Keep your…”
(Grrrrrrrr)
Mr. Fields stopped and looked at Henry’s phone which was beside him and waited for him to pick. He sluggishly looked at the caller and back to Mr. Fields.
“Excuse me. It is Harriet.”
He nodded his head in the affirmative, and Henry picked the call. Now, he tried to sound happy.
“Hello, Harriet. Good to hear from you.”
“Oh! Henry, Good to hear from you too. I wondered why you are not at the restaurant today.”
Henry furrowed his brows and looked at Mr. Fields who was listening to their discussion and responded bluntly.
“I am having my lunch elsewhere.”
It would have been easier for Harriet to understand if Henry had given another reason for his absence rather than the reason that he just gave, which she read many meanings into.
“Why elsewhere? Are you not happy with our services anymore? Did any of us offend you?”
Now, Mr. Henry Taylor did not know which of the questions that he had to answer first. So, he kept mute and looked on his Godfather, who was not aware that he had been patronizing her. When, he failed to respond, she cut the call and gave Mr. Nicholas Fields a call at once.
Meanwhile, after she cut, Mr. Henry Taylor dropped his phone and continued with his meal while Mr. Fields continued with his counselling.
“Like I was saying …”
(Grrrrrrrr)
He paused and looked at his phone before he looked at Henry. Then, he picked.
“Hello, Harriet. I am delighted to hear from you. What’s up?”
Now, when Henry heard him mention Harriet, he paused his meal and became inquisitive, then Harriet spoke.
“Godfather, good day. Henry is not happy with me, and I don’t know what I have done wrong to offend him.”
Mr. Nicholas Fields, who was conversant with the issues concerning the youths, was at a loss of how to handle the issue at hand, but he played along and asked.
“What made you think that he was not happy with you?”
“He was not here for his lunch? Besides, he said he was having his lunch elsewhere.”
“Must he be at your place for lunch every day?”
