The Love That Triumphed 2
Monday Morning
Mr. Arthur Bailey's fear was losing Nichole to another man. Although, he was a strong man, but the fear of losing the people that he loved had been his weakness. He was confidence of Nichole Bailey's love for him, but unless he possessed her legally, he would not be placid. He had to protect her until Thursday, when they would tie the nuptial knot, and he must devise a means of doing that.
(Peck)
“I am so glad that you are the first thing I will see every morning for the rest of my life. Good morning, my sunshine.”
Nichole smiled as she opened her eyes gradually and responded.
“Good morning, my Knight in shining armor.”
She got up, sat down on the bed and yawned groggily while Mr. Arthur Bailey watched her with concern.
“You look tired.”
“Yes, hubby. I wish I can just rest at home today.”
What a coincidence. He had been thinking of a way to make her stay at home until their wedding day. Now, he had gotten the opportunity effortlessly and must make judicious use of it. Then, her gave her another peck on her temple and inquired.
“Who says it is not possible? A physician can be a patient sometime and need to take a break.”
“Yes. You are right, hubby. I will call my hospital to inform them that I need a break and obtain permission to be off work.”
“That will be fine. In that case, I will get off work early too to keep you company.”
“That will be all right.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey teased.
“What excuse will you give to your boss? Overdose of getting your kettle amended?”
Nichole smiled weakly and replied.
“Generous hanky-panky from my Prince Charming.”
They laughed again and Mr. Bailey hinted.
“When you mentioned Prince Charming, you remind me of that Friday when we were taking Louis back to Sevenoaks.”
Nichole laughed softly and added.
“When you were busy misunderstanding me and leered with brooding eyes.”
“Well, I'm happy it is over. Let me get ready for work. We are having breakfast here. I will ask the chef to do that. You can go back to sleep.”
“Thank you hubby.”
Then, she called the hospital and informed her superior of her health challenges, and he promised to swap her with another nurse to cover up for her before she laid back on the bed.
Afterwards, Arthur got off the bed, walked to the Kitchen and gave the chef instructions on what to do before he returned to the bedroom. He walked into the bathroom to take his bath and soon, he was through. Later, the chef announced that she was through with the breakfast, and he picked it from her and served his wife. After they had their breakfast, he was ready to leave, but he had one challenge, her handset.
He had carefully distracted her from all that took place on Saturday. There was no guarantee that she would not check her phone while she would be alone. Then, he tried to pull a string to see if it would work.
Now, she was trying to pick up her phone when he looked at her with a feign surprise.
“Why the phone, I thought you needed rest?"
“Yes, hubby. I wanted to…”
“No Nichole. I would not have you joke with your health. I would rather keep the phone for you until you have had enough rest.”
Nichole, who did not have much need for the phone, willingly handed it over the phone to him.
“You can have it. I am going back to sleep.”
He collected it and gave her a peck on her temple before he announced.
“Okay. I will be back very soon.”
“All right hubby. Be careful.”
“I will. Thank you.”
He left the house with the boldness of a fulfilled man.
At Mr. Stephen Bailey's Apartment
He had recovered from the pains he got from Denise's attack and had planned his revenge tactics since he could not report to the authority.
'Abducting her won't be a bad idea. After all, she is a single woman. As for Denise, I will speak his language. By the time Arthur is dead, he will have no protection over him, and he would be nothing but a worthless orphan.'
He thought as he put his mercenaries in place. When he informed Mr. Arthur Bailey on Saturday of his intentions to get married, he was happy because he thought it was a step to leading a responsible life. As a family member, they did not have any record of criminal activities about him, but his lifestyle was disturbing. His kind of business – Resort where he had restaurant and bar, made his lifestyle questionable. The way he ran his business, gambling, and other vices may not be far from his business. That day, he had his plans rolled out. He had given the details and photo of Mr. Arthur Bailey to his hired assassins of three men. They were to strike on his way to work. He was aware that Mr. Arthur Bailey hardly move out with security guards nor driver and used a particular route. Getting him was as easy as apple pie.
“The three of you should make sure you do a seamless job.”
He said to his men over the phone.
“Yes. Boss. What of the woman, how do we abduct her?”
“I will handle that. Never mind.”
That morning, the three men set out to execute their plans. On the road to Bailey International Conglomerates, three men with police uniform were standing at a lonely road with a police van. The unsuspecting motorists were glad that, at last, the government had thought of deploying security personnel to man the lonely road, and they commended one after the other.
“This is good.”
“This place had always been overlooked by the government.”
“Wow. This spot had always given me concern.”
At The Government Hospital
The overconfidence Mr. Stephen Bailey was at the government hospital car park with his partner, Jude. He was a twenty-one-year-old boy whom he employed to work with him on such occasion. They already had their strategies mapped out.
“The moment she parks her car, I will walk up to her and engage her in a conversation. While talking to her, you will come close by and spray the substance.”
“I got it, boss.”
“Be careful, so you don't spray too much. She is my woman. We had a little misunderstanding, and she walked away.”
“Oh! So sorry boss. You will get her back.”
He had psyched his partner and he was willing to give his best. Then, Mr. Stephen Bailey checked his time, and it was 7:15 am.
“She would be here any moment from now.”
He pointed out. Then, they began to wait in his car. According to their plans, Mrs. Nichole Bailey become unconscious as a result of the substance. Afterwards, they would move her to the passenger's seat, and he will drive her away while his partner will drive his car and come behind him.
Meanwhile, at 8:00 am, behold Mrs. Nichole Bailey, driving in with her car in her nurse uniform. Then, Mr. Stephen Bailey and his partner, swung into action.
At The Bailey International Conglomerates.
It was 10:20 am, Mr. Denise Bailey had reported to work as early as 8:00 am and got himself busy with work. Then, he had the need to see his father over an official issue, so he decided to walk to his office.
To his consternation, his secretary said.
“He is yet to resume, Young Master.”
“It is okay, Mrs. Felix. I will check back later.”
He did not bother to give his father a call, since he could always check back. When, it comes to official matters, he gave his father the respect due to him.
Meanwhile, at the lonely road leading to the Bailey International Conglomerates, the three supposed police men were tired of waiting for the man with the car description that Mr. Stephen Bailey gave to them. As a matter of twist, they had worked for the government for the day, and the government must appreciate them. So, they began to murmur among themselves.
“We had been here for almost four hours, what is happening?”
“I'm amazed too. Does he want to play on our intelligence?”
“Our concern is our full payment. We have given him four hours of our time, and he must pay us.”
“Certainly. There is no compromise. If we wait for another fifteen minutes, and we do not see him, we will leave, and he must pay us off.”
Their waiting turned out to be another fifteen minutes of regret.
At The Government Hospital.
Mr. Stephen Bailey and his partner walked up to Mrs. Nichole Bailey, who was about getting off her car after she had parked in between a stream of cars. As usual, every one was minding his or her business.
“Good morning Nichole.”
(Pif. Pif)
His partner sprayed the substance as they had agreed.
“Oh! My God.”
She screamed. Then, Mr. Stephen Bailey covered her mouth while his partner walked to the passenger's door, opened it and dragged Nichole to the passenger's seat and Mr. Stephen Bailey sat on the driver's seat. Then, his partner shut the door and walked back to Mr. Stephen Bailey's car, and they drove off effortlessly.
When they got to the exit gate of the hospital, Mr. Stephen Bailey became edgy.
'Won't they suspect why she is sleeping and leaving immediately?'
To his surprise, the security guard smiled and remarked.
“She just got off-duty, right?”
He nodded and handed the card to him. Then, the security guard opened the gate, and they drove off.
